open co-ops

ritacba1 (AU1)ritacba1 (AU1) AU1 Posts: 266
hello, just wondering being an open co-op is there any way to stop individuals who continually join and leave a few minutes later to go to another co-op, other than going back to applications?

i have someone who joins then leaves before i can boot them. is there something i can do?
i have already sent messages to the individual to either stay or do not join again. but they continue to join.

Go to cooperative settings on your overview page of the coop, it shows to gears together towards the bottom of the screen, you can choose how people join

yes thanks i know that but i don't want to go back to taking applications. so is my only choice if she continues to apply is to go to support? and report as nuisance player or is that going too far?

i understand that would happen if i go back to applications, but i don't want to go back to applications.
so in other words this person can join and leave as often as she wants until i go back to applications? is that what you are saying? i can't report her if she continues with this behaviour to support?

if i remember correctly, if u remove them, they wont be able to join again(maybe u already knew that)..
but since they leave before u could remove them, that is a problem..

yeah that is the problem, and no-one else can remove them... i will just see what happens. i thought that if they went from one co-op to another then after so many they would not be able to join. but i read somewhere they have to be removed for that to happen

i had one that i removed and when i opened it up for anyone, he rejoined, I would like to see in the future a Lockout to prevent anyone else from joining that you do not want to, yes there are applications but a lockout from even applying would be nice. Guess thats where leadership comes in to play

Her coop is a open coop, that mean anyone can come in whenever they want without sending application, this mean they can come back again. I think ?(

........To prevent cooperative hopping and other random annoyances, you may not re-enter a cooperative you previously joined through the open cooperative feature and were removed from. Furthermore, if more than 20 cooperatives removed you soon after joining them through the open cooperative feature, you may no longer use this feature.................

thats from september 10th update(8/9/2014 thread)

yeah i know, but the leader needs to remove them otherwise they can re-enter anytime. i'm just not quick enough to remove them. in my instance she joined 5 mins later left... rejoined 2 hours later and left 5 mins. for them to stop going into open co-ops THE LEADER NEEDS TO REMOVE them before the 20 limit is reached.

so my original question was, if she continues to do so, can i go to support and if so will they do anything or am i just wasting my time?

Since it is possible in the programming for a player to be blocked from joining an open coop once they have been removed, I would suggest that you contact support & ask them to apply the block manually in this case, as the player has clearly found a way around it, by jumping before being pushed.
It might also be an idea to post a thread in "suggestions", asking for a way for coop leaders to apply such a block themselves, if they choose to have their coop open.

What happens if you ignore that member? Anything at all or they just can't message you?

If it were me, I would message support about this and ask them to intervene. You clearly want to keep the open feature active on your co-op to attract new members and this player is 100% being a nuisance. You shouldn't have to compromise because someone wants to behave like a child.

If this is such a problem, Use Applications, you have no choice, turn them down without thinking about, is it such an inconvenience to hit denied button every time this person submits an app?, I know you do not like it but if customer support does not help. If you leave it in the open option, it is going to be happening until you stop playing the game

She's already stated multiple times she doesn't want to change from open applications. And why should she? It's not just about denying this one person, she wants her co-op to be open to others. Come up with a new solution already.

i have read and reread her statements about customer support doing it for her, and I do understand exactly what she wants to do. But without changing her settings she is going to continue getting the player entering her coop. She should put it into application only until customer support helps her out. There is no other way. One other thing she may want to do but not to help her but others, I do not know if it is feasible nor how much time she wantsa to take, but let oother coops know about the player that is doing it via message on Big Farm itself.

It sounds like if support doesn't catch her you need to try and be online to boot her and do it as soon as she joins. Is she causing any problems while she is there? Behaving against your co-op rules in chat? Doing something that you can add to your report to support other than revolving door in and out just to annoy you. If they can't change it ignore her or talk to her and try to find out what the appeal is for her to do this. I don't get it at all.

ok everyone thanks for the input.

i have not gone to support. My question was: was it worth going to support? the answer is yes.
however the situation has seemed to fix it self... (maybe she has read this thread...lol...)

anyway, she has stopped joining and leaving and is now i believe in another co-op. but if she does come back i will go to support and ask them "To have a word with her". as i have already asked why does she bother ... numerous times.

    once again thanks.

I think I remember reading in the update announcement that there were only so many x's that a player can enter and leave a coop before they are blocked from entering another coop for awhile in this manner....

That applies only if the co-op leader removes the person. If someone comes & goes of their own free will (as do travellers), they won't be blocked. So unfortunately, it doesn't seem to apply in this case. It seems the only options here are to either change the co-op settings to require applications (remove the "open" status), or to hope the person in question will eventually tire of this silly game.

In view of the forum's policy against "naming & shaming" I don't think it would be allowed to post the person's name. If you feel you need to know, you might send the OP a personal message.
