I was upset to farmerjohn!! I pumped a bunch of money in hoping to get lots of shells. I didn't see a breakdown, so I guess there really is no way to tell. I just got a pop up saying "here are your 850,000 shells". Live and learn I guess.

But that is a huge amount of shells, 800.000 more than others make.

Yes, but this does not. I think it just completes the race, but it seems like a pointless step. That is why I am looking for some kind of effect.

Gaving, that "skip" is just to close the text box : ) same as if you clicked on the X. I think during normal events, the SKIP is also always there, so you don't have to read the texts 400 times.

Too early to say what I think of the horse ranch but one thing caught my eye........I thought we were getting horses not ponies. Goldy looks like a "My Little Pony" and the little lovehearts look tacky......are we going to be racing against "horses" owned by Barbie and Ken? :D

After the competition it will give you the score for your competitor. (Tessa made it up to 23 versus my 25 so I stopped) I challenged until they were 2 to 3 below me, then stopped. I did full horseshoes for strength and endurance, and collected 136 competition horseshoes. Working on agility now.

The skip button just bypasses some dialog that narrates the race. I know now.

ANGIE !!! nicely done - very nice , you made out like a bandit, lol - congrats !!!
You can keep going in races till you loose, there is no penalties in losing just like missions with certs - I got 5min and my horse will come out of another training and will put him to some competitions again, before next training phase :) Need more "competition horseshoes" for upgrading the Ranch buildings ;)

Well the penalty for losing is a cool down period.... but yeah, that's not too bad. It is a little irritating when you lose 3 in a row at 75-25 though. :)

Hahahahaha - yeah , I got the cool down period twice already, but when you loose you gotta train your Horse more anyway at that is 4hrs ;) cooldown is 3hrs - it's a win win situation , lol

and I did win some too

Well theoretically, I could have kept winning at 75-25 without training, but yeah, I went back to the training (after upgrading)

When is the last day for the island itself? Isn't there like a two day grace period from when the island ends to when you can buy seeds anymore??

you can buy seeds for a couple weeks afterwards, that event finishes on sunday i think 65 hours from now. with seeds you can store an unlimite amount so you should trade the shells for them asap

You cannot buy seeds for weeks after... a couple days at most, then the Shell trader goes away.

I correct my earlier statement, now that I think about it it may have been people wondering why the fruit was still required on the ship more than a week after. And there were statements as to the fact that people still had seeds

Last time it was 2 days to buy seeds after the farms disappeared.

I JUST LOST another 40 gold from "hurrying" and apple orchard, that I did not hurry. This is now well over 5000 gold lost to things that I did not do.

I 'Highly' recommend the following ratio of SS Tropical Fruit seeds: 33 Limes/16 Grapefruits/10 Pineapples/4 Melons. This ratio takes into account both the amount asked for by the ship each trip AND the amount of fruit produced in the Greenhouse for each seed.

i have some special seeds but not a lot, i am hoping the regular seeds hold out for that time, hopefully a month and a half

Reg seeds are, in my opinion, a waste of time. In terms of cost... shells to output, there is no difference in ratio (okay VERY small difference). But in comparison of fruit produced to time, SS's are WAY WAY WAY faster. There is no reason to buy regular tropical seeds (Again in my opinion) until you literally can't afford Special Seeds. Even being online 16 hours every day, you will have difficulty keeping up with the ship demands with regular seeds.

You will have enough. I did not have 200 of each, a third of that, and I haven't used them up from last time.

Also, you should only buy special seeds. They are the same per seed and save you time.

And remember that you can adjust the amount you give to higher or lower in order to finish the boat. LIMES can be your friend, because they are cheap, and you can raise them to the higher amount to bag more horseshoes. So I recommend extra limes if you need horseshoes.

regular is what i was referring to.

Do the GGS reps not ever check these posts anymore? I have a really big concern to type up,but I don't want to waste the time if they are unresponsive.

For me and just me I'm figuring 1 million shells worth for special limes. I think the small limes are way too much time to spend. Plus from the way mine works it seems to ask way more often for melon than anything else. So I'll load up on regular melon and probably pineapple the same. I'll do a mix bad on grapefruit.
