Bakery Storage

cheshi (US1)cheshi (US1) Posts: 135
Looking at the info for the bakery, I can see that storage for the ingredients is 10,000 for each upgrade.

Does the storage for the baked products increase at all? Is it always only 1,000 for each kind of baked good?

The description only says that each upgrade requires fewer ingredients for each recipe. But all my baked goods are nearly maxed out (only the lack of peaches holding me back) already with only 1,000 storage and each recipe yields several hundred servings. With fewer ingredients, that would allow making more with less, but what's the point if you are maxed out of storage for each product?

Twiddling my thumbs and trying to plan ahead while waiting for upgrades to get done one at a time. Should not have participated in that last event, my list of upgrades for my gourmet farm keeps growing and growing.

So much farming, so little time. All that money I saved up is practically burning a hole in my virtual wallet. Thought I'd put more time into baking, but that's about maxed. Do I keep baking each item and selling the excess food I bake? So far my money growth is just from selling production overflow. But if I start selling the baked overflow... Kaching!

as you upgrade barns you get more space for your goods I have room for 1700 baked goods with 2 normal barns level 5

Of course!. The prupose of baked goods is to sell them. They can not be used further in any production chain. The only reason (for now), why they are put in a barn and not sold automaticaly is because our good capitan asks for fruit cake from time to time.
So have your bars full and sell excess or sell imidiately after backing (except for a small amout of fruit cake). I presonaly filled up the barns and now I am selling the excess. This way I have a stock of goods which I can sell in a case of emergency.

the max capacity you will every be able to hold of baked goods is 2100, that is unless you want to have 2 gold barns, if that is the case the max will be approx 4000

Okay. I should have known the storage is the barns. I just don't normally equate people food and barns so it went right over my head when I maxed out the apple turnovers so quickly.

The captain now asks me for lavender. I find it amusing in an annoying way. But I am now level 41, so I was able to upgrade my peaches. Peaches are still updating now. When I am able to expand the gourmet farm, I think I might get another peach orchard. I also added another cow shed, so I should be able to keep the bakery always running and enjoy selling them. Have the money for many upgrades already, but waiting constantly, so much time to think about plans for the farm while watching the construction clock.

I'll be happy when I have enough room for just two peach orchards. When I get my numbers where I want them, I think I can maintain them with just two orchards. But having more orchards is always better for events where leaves are needed as well as baking the fruit cake with cream.

You have a lot of duck coops. That is a lot of eggs.

I think that only works for the main farm... so more peach orchards wouldn't help with events, but they could definitely speed up fruit cake production. :)

Oh. I thought the leaves and dung were global, not just main farm.

Leaves from gourmet farm do count for leave-collecting event tasks.
I also remember feeding goats in a "feed cows x times" task on main farm (not sure if it was for an event or a regular one).

there are events that use the peach orchards and goat coops for them. it is a way to quuicken the event along. i.e. colllect leaves for tasks, and start milk production

The only coop i am unaware of that you cannot use for any purpose other than supplying items for the ship and possibly the coop event is the donkey coop, although the achievements possibly may include it

I updated one of my chicken coops. Bakery storage is always maxed on eggs with just the 3 chicken coops I have and the one duck coop. I think I'd be scared if I started an egg collecting mission and saw a farm with that many duck coops.

So, normally, I rush to the bakery to see if I can make something to use up the eggs instead of selling them. But I've been keeping the bakery running, so nothing I could do but sell the eggs. I often have to sell the eggs - is this normal for others?

I went to harvest my two apple orchards and the apples were also maxed. I chose to wait until the bakery was finished instead of selling all those apples. Two orchards might not seem like much if you are on a high level, but the captain asks for large quantities of the apples more than the peaches. I am on level 41 and can't upgrade my barns until level 43. I better ramp up my bakery production, it will cost 2 million per barn to gain more storage!

Selling is totally normal, it makes you money! Even as you upgrade your storage, you will be upgrading your production too, so you should always have lots of surplus goods to sell, it just means you are doing a good job. ^^

That's good to know I am on the right track with the bakery. And making kaching for upgrading. Visited some other farms today (levels 38-43) and noticed they've put in more upgrades than I have. I was spending too much time playing events instead of taking care of my little farm's upgrades. But I'm on it now. Upgrades around the clock.

one thing to think about is to upgrade those items that give the most money in return so you do do your upgrades fasterm Apple Orchards are a good example

I agree with that. Already upgraded apples and cherries and peaches. And only one upgrade done for my chicken coops, for the eggs. Also gotta upgrade the cow shed. Always have to look at the final time of the upgrade so I can be sure to stop production of the next thing I want to upgrade. Missed my almond orchard several times. I could use a bit of gold to speed up some upgrades, but that would be a lot of gold and I am not rich.

the only times i have ever used gold for speeding up buildings is during the architect, i realized he was there a limnited time and wanted to get as most as i could done. The problem is that i had to do about 4 - 5 houses because i did not have the money and everything else was being used. And i needed the extra waorkers for upgrades.
