I agree... I also thought it was needed at first, but have changed my mind as things progress. You need to the longer times to save enough cash for when it feels like everything costs $20 million lol :S
When you are new and have tasks piling up and lots of different things to build & then you get a 2nd and 3rd farm and you feel like you will never get it all done, just relaxxxxxxxxxx.... Its not a race, the tasks are not going anywhere, eventually when you run out of things to do you will wish you had all those different things to choose from back again. Enjoy the journey ^^
This is a farming strategy game. You have to make strategic decisions. Allowing only one build at a time is part of the strategy you have to learn in order to manage your time most effectively.
So the obvious answer would be to "wait" on your island farm while upgrading regular farms. However, because the developers have tied so much to island farm production (boat, greenhouse, horse farm), ignoring your island farm could lock you out of half the game at this point.
The only reason for not offering separate building for the island farm that i can see is to slow us down on our regular farms. Otherwise I would strongly suggest that island farm building be separated. If you agree, please add your voice below and let the developers know. Thanks.
IMHO it's not really an event (no matter what they call it). It's another farm with unstable access. More like ... you can work on the island so long as the weather is good, but when the hurricanes & tsunamis come in (after 30 days) you can't get to the island, too dangerous to travel.
It would be cool if i could upgrade more things in the same time !! 8)
The design of one building slot predates the growing amount of additional farms and has become obsolete. The company would do well to listen to the feedback of lower level players because perhaps if they did it would lead to better retention of players.
I agree. The one building slot - time management - is part of the game. It is one of the challenges/difficulties as a game befits and it should not be changed. If things would be made a lot easier the game would not be a game anymore :S
- It's very long time ago I have build up my greenhouse to the maximum for dollars upgrade, and I don't want to spent gold for more upgrade.
In my opinion, the horse ranch also should have its own build slot because the horse ranch has all its own economy in terms of construction.
On the other farms, it costs dollars or gold to build and upgrade.
In the horse ranch does it cost gold horseshoe to upgrade, and these gold horseshoe can not be bought either for gold or dollars.
As long as I still have plenty of use for mine construction workers at the mine production farms, I will not waste any more construction time than I have already done on the horse ranch!
Horse ranch do not produce anything that can be used on other farms or anything that can be sold.
Nope, also takes up the one building slot.
My suggestion is an extra upgrade slot that functions for the areas outside the farms, at least for the horse arenas.
Otherwise I'm fine with upgrading things one by one as I can see that the higher levels also takes way more dollars. Especially now as ALL my resources goes to the Island event. Can't do a thing almost at the farms for the moment.
I found that I can do things in the garage beside the building slot.
I would love to update more than one thing at a time. Sometimes I forget something needs upgraded and start something else instead, then have to wait 20 hours before I can build a house for more workers so that I can use the building I upgraded thru the night. Money lost.
Ohhh.. That's very familiar to me too.
Suggestions on how to introduce building slots:
1. Allow players to buy new building slots {these would be permanent building slots} for gold, or a lot of cash. Limit total building slots to 3 for the whole game. An example would be: 300 gold or 1 million cash for the first extra building slot, and 500 gold or 3 million cash for the second building slot.
2. Allow players to automatically have 1 building slot per farm {main farm has 1 building slot, gourmet farm has 1 separate building slot, and so on}
GGS has respond this and the answer is a big NO
Edit by PINJO: removed the link to this thread as the threads were merged
That's wrong (since we have get the horse ranch and the Island and the viking farm !!!
Correct..but:
Maybe GGS should seriously thinking about the following:
Since we have get the last 3 new things (horses, Island and vikings) things not longer hanging together!
If I have understood things correct, it's GGS's intension, that we upgrade the horse ranch and breeding horses (am I right?)
To upgrade the horse ranch buildings we need golden horse shoes. we get them form winning in competions..
To win in the competitions, we need to train the horse a lot, which cost a lot of regular horseshoes.
To get these regular horseshoes, we need to deal with the ship...especially lots of tropical fruits and now vinter fruit from the greenhouse.
(am I still correct?) - if yes, ok so far so god, and fair enough.
But now it is the chain starts to break and fall off:
To earns lots of shells and now runestones to buy greenhouse seeds, we need to play a lot on the island and now the viking farm, and have our building workers working nonstop on build and upgrade buildings on the island and the viking farm.
- and it definitely does not help that there were only 2-3 days between island farm and Viking farm!
Now I want to ask GGS: How the (censured by myself!) do you think our building workers should have time to work on the horse ranch, when they are nonstop working on the island and the viking farm?
- Furthermore: The upgrading prices is in competition horseshoes, so the build working on the horse ranch have absolutly nothing to do with farmdollars! - Because of that, I don't see any good reason to that the horseranch should use the same building slot as the production farms.
Dear GGS, if you really have that intention, we should work with that horseranch and build it up, please let the horse ranch have it's own building slot.
Welcome to BF ^^..... Most people think the same thing when they are just starting out, a combination of being eager to get ahead & the fact that things are so cheap at first. You will find that changes after a while, partly because upgrades get so expensive that you need the time it takes them to run in order to save up enough cash to do the next one. Relax, take the time to plan your farm & your strategy. BF rules #1, #2 & #3 are... Patience, patience, patience!.... Unless you want to spend a lot of gold speeding things up.
Also I would love the ability to move decorations from one farm to the other. That way when I put something into my storage from my main farm if I need it say on the Gourmet farm I can place it there.
Big Farm is as much a strategy and time management game as it is a farming game. And the game's developers have worked a balance out for this. So to allow 2 (or more) building slots, even on different farms, would mean rebalancing and extending building times to even longer than they now, just to get to a similar position, a similar balance, to what we have now.
Even if there was a change of heart and two buildings slots were introduced upgrades and additional plots get very costly indeed. I think you would very soon run out of Dollars.
But "Even if you only made them available for a one time gold purchase (not every time you wanted to use it)." you could achieve he same result by skipping one of the builds with gold
