Coop missions explanation

Ok I'm confused. I did 2300/2800 on the last project but someone else got best contribution in cooperative projects? And Project Activity makes it look like noone else has done anything. I contributed the items to start it but I didn't finish it all myself because I thought someone else might want to join in and because it was almost 3am and I was tired, with things to do this morning. This doesn't seem right to me, will it always be like this for coop missions?

Who put in the collectables to start a project has nothing to do with how many shovels you have

The number of shovels is calculated using your best 4 results from the last 5. It may be the golden shovel holder did more than you in the previous projects

Missions are different but I assume you meant project throughout your post as there is no such thing as a coop mission

Missions are the collect dung, eggs, corn or wildflowers from the tab bottom right

Shovels are determined over an average of 5 projects. The shovels are also determined by your own personal level and the rank of your coop. The higher your level the harder it is to earn shovels (though I have noticed if you build your farm up to go with a particular project, the higher levels tend to gather more shovels then the lower). So basically, there is an offset for lower to higher level players for shovels to make it even playing ground.

I have noticed that if you do really well over several projects your more likely to get the rake/shovel. Our coop does a lot of projects, and when I am not on during the night, come in the next morning I am down from 4-5 shovels to 1. It takes anywhere from 3-4 projects to work my way back to 3-5 shovels & I never get the golden rake shovel starting the 1st project. Hope this helps.

Yeah I meant projects. As for the shovels, this was the first coop project for our coop so I was surprised to see someone else get all the shovels for doing about 500 corn while I did the bulk of the work and got none. So looks like the person with the higher overall level will end up with most of the shovels in new coops? Doesn't seem fair to those who actually do the work.

It could not be your co-ops first co-op project... No one would have shovels if it was the first one.

Either someone ran one you never knew about, or you are forgetting one that maybe happened a long time ago?

Are you the co-op leader? Are they're deputies? If you were off, leader or deputy could have run a project and completed it in your absence. Therefore, you won't get any shovels until you have participated in two projects and someone else will have shovels because they played in two projects already.

According to the leader, it was the first project since she formed the coop.

The shovels are not calculated until you have taken part in 3. They are not accurate until you have completed 5. Until a farmer has been in the coop for 3 projects it should say 'no data available'.

You can see how many have been completed by hovering over the wooden 'chalice' thing. Projects have levels and will tell you say 2/5, meaning it has been completed successfully twice and that 5 successes are needed for the next level

If the information your leader has given you is accurate (first ever project) then you have a bug which should be reported to Support

The calculation is weighted for all sorts of things including level. An active low level can achieve the golden shovel. However it is a truism that the higher levels tend to be the more active (which is why they are a higher level) so tend to get the golden shovel more often. But rest assured a keen new player can get the shovel :)
