You can not demolish what you can not build. It holds true on every farm.

True. But if you upgraded any of those buildings at least once, you still get 50% of destruction reward for each upgrade when the event ends.

I am spending my last hour of the Island Farm aka Paradise taking a last wander around. The sand is warm on my toes. There is a nice breeze and the sound of the waves is relaxing. I take a last walk across the rope bridge to the small adjoined islands. Sit with the kangaroo under the umbrella and reflect on how much I enjoyed it here. Remind myself that next time I need to take the time and learn to surf. I take some pictures of the big tree with all of the colorful birds on it and of the Tree House. After a bit I wander back and take a last look at the Tiki Gods. When I took my last dip under the waterfall earlier, I realize I am really going to miss the peacock calls and the mischievous little lemurs. Kinda got used to them stealing my hat. Think I am going to leave it here for them to play with. Ok then - beach bar closed up, bank locked and house all locked up. Just about to board the plane for my flight home, one last look around and I am off. Wow, the island looks so big with all of the fields, buildings and animal pens gone. Thanks to Johnny Apple for the invitation and for the company for this past month, I had a great time!
Good bye Paradise, see you soon!

Perhaps I missed a portion of the reset of the island, but I assumed all the money we had transferred over to the island, would be returned. What has happen to that money?

I must have missed the part where we were promised our island dollars back... I thought that we would get 50% of building value/cost/whatever at the end of the island time (which was a very small amount in the end) but nothing about a return of dollars that everyone is talking about. Does anyone have a link?

    Again... GGS screws us up!

What a f*** joke! I spent over 150M on that (censored) piece of (censored) island, only to get a handful of (censored) (censored) shells.

not that I don't agree in some facet, but nobody is mentioning they are forcing you to play a certain way of sorts. In a back-alley way, that's almost the same difference.

She is not right, not even remotely. GGS tied the Island to the boat via shells and the Greenhouse. Now if you wish to fill your boat, you have NO choice but to play the island because it is the only way to get shells. And it goes on.... They promised you a Horse ranch but said you would need horseshoes to make it happen. Where can you ge the horse shoes? The boat... SOLE provider. So, to sum it all up, you have no choice to run the island if you wish to have access to the Horse ranch.

Yeah... well said Rhinana and yourself.... if you wanted to make a comment that was totally out of whack with the game and prove that you didn't understand squat of what is going on here... yeah.. INDEED!

    Hi Instant Ocean,

I understand that you are upset but I don't think you should be telling me that you think I am pathetic or that I am a fool. I loved the Island Farm and had a great time playing on it. Everyone that plays any game has a different experience, good or bad. I read the posts and I don't happen to agree with all of them but I won't disrespect someone just because I don't agree with them. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I really am sorry that you didn't enjoy the Island Farm and I hope you are enjoying your other farms.

    Cheers.

Nobody said you had to play the way you did... I ended up spending about 22 Million and about 8,000 gold (Mostly to speed things up at the end since I was away over the weekend and lost valueable game time), and still made it all the way through chapter 2!!

Yes, it is all tied together. What is the point of adding anything at all to the game if it isn't?? That is what adds to the variety of ways to play Big Farm. Yes, things are tied together on the 3 full time farms too, it works better that way. If you don't like how the game works, then why play it?

But, you do not ever have to play the island if you don't want too. You can still get horses by selling other goods, not soley island fruits. Plus, you don't have to spend a dime and can still get tons of shells by visiting the island and popping bubbles for the shells, dollars, and fruits that can be sold for shells. They add up after 30 days!

In fact, that is what I am doing next time it comes. Not playing a single task and then just getting what I get from the bubbles. I had my run with it this time. It was fun, but expensive. I'll go back to it when I have more cash saved up.

Instant Ocean, why do you play this game? The great majority of your comments for more than a year regarding any of the new aspects of the game have been negative. If you are so unhappy, you can simply refrain from playing the game. Other people enjoy the new features. I thought the island was a fun challenge - but it clearly was not for lower-level players and should not be advertised as being suitable for lower-level players.

Instant Ocean you seriously need to take a break from this game. Go outside, get a breath of fresh air and some perspective. This is a GAME. You are right about one thing, I don't pump loads of money into this because I play for FUN. I don't have to be in a "top 100 co-op" (even though I am) or be a high level player to enjoy myself. I play to have a little farming fun, not to compete with the likes of you.

Because I'm the Leader of the Ranked #14 co-op with only 13 members!!! That is why. I will NOT jump ship and leave my crew like this.

Also, WTF does an Island have to do with a FARM GAME? This is Big Farm. Can't you see that GGS is making removed up as they go along to get more of your gold? Gawd, people are so blind!

Yourself say that GGS should have told lower level players that the Island was not for them because it demands so much game money. Do you find this fair? And here you are, talking from both sides of the mouth, defending one and the other. C'mon, get real! It's either one or the other. They could have toned it down for lower level players like they do for the cost of researchers.. the lower level you are, the less it costs. But no. They did not.

    WAKE UP!

Yeah, I have time to waste popping bubbles... LMAO!

No wonder you guys are in low ranked co-ops... you are dreamers. One writes a poetic text about the island as if she consumed LSD and you are telling me that you are proud to have made it to Book #2 with spending 8K of gold. Well my friend, I made it to chapter #4 of book 3 with 500 bananas to go before I had to start demolishing because GGS will rob us of 50% of what we invested.

Clearly, we do not see eye to eye and are not the same breed: I'm a winner... You guys, Miss poet and you...I do not know. One thing I know is that we are not the same at all. I never was a GGS puppet and never will and having had 3 companies to my name, I know when I'm getting screwed. Not so sure you guys are quite awake. You sound more like day dreamers to me.

Anyway... I've said what I had to say and this is my last post in this thread... unless...

    IO

Ummm, I did not say task 2 of the first chapter.... I completed two FULL chapters...10 chapter tasks on my 22M. And If I had been home it only would have been 1,000 gold because I bought gold houses, the other 7,000 was because I wanted the second sandcastle and time was running low. I deemed it worth it.

I don't qualifiy myself as in a low-ranked co-op either. My co-op is 219 out of over 9400 co-ops on my server. I think that is pretty good actually!

Nothing close to daydreaming here. Reality only. This is a game. I get what I pay for, entertainment and relaxation. Other people enjoy the game for what it is, as do I. I don't always like every update, and wasn't fond of the fact they said level 30 plus and then had such HIGH prices on the island, wasn't the greatest idea. But, I enjoyed the island visit.

And if you have time to play the many hours of island for the tasks, then you can take 5 minutes on occasion and pop a few bubbles when you are on the game. Nobody says you have to make a million shells off the bubbles! I made probably close to 25,000 on shells from the bubbles, not counting grapes, oranges and peanuts that could all be sold for shells too. And that was just a few minutes a day while I waited for my fields to finish growing so I could harvest them and move on.

    I demolished only two buildings
    Lemur pen Lvl1 ~200 shells
    Coconut Orchard lvl3 =2,100 shells

when Island ended for all buildings and decos I had, I received 29,000 shells, good thing I was down to only 1,000 Island dollars - the exchange of shells to island money seems pretty "poor"

I got most things demo'd on my farm. Not too happy with the return. I think next time IF I do the Island I might just continue production on the Island farm. I may get more shells that way rather then demolishing.

PS TO ALL: I'm out of here.... I wasted enough time with you losers.

    Dear Mr/Mrs. Not Loser
I feel sad for your loss of spending 150mil and not being able to finish the Island farm, yet I want to ask you to please stop cursing other ppl on this thread.
I understand that you feel sad that the "Mighty" you couldnt even finish the Island by spending 150mil or more... but still I can not understand how other players, like myself for example, managed to finish the Island with less than 100mil(about 85mil to be exact) and 0 gold and got a totall of 35mil shells. so tell me is it other ppl's (i mean the Losers') fault that you don't even know how to play this game really? or is the fault yours alone.

and it's not just me, I am sure alot other players also finished the Island with less than 150mil, and let me tell you something, alot other players who Didn't finish it also, only didn't want to risk as it was the first time, and I'm sure they will finish it next time with less than 150mil (less than 100mil actually, not sure how u wasted that 50mil more and still couldnt finish it)

so here's my suggestion for you, I think it's good if you and your mighty co-op read these Losers' threads and learn how to play the Island next time:

    http://en.board.goodgamestudios.com/bigfarm/showthread.php?117261-The-island-farm!

    http://en.board.goodgamestudios.com/bigfarm/showthread.php?119751-Island-farm-Some-tips-for-players-who-want-to-finish-all-3-chapters-(no-gold-needed)

I feel sad for your loss, but I promise you, with the help of these Losers' threads, you will manage to finish the island next time with less than 100mil too, well ... unless... you are too..."Not smart"

Well, the last page or so of this thread sure makes for interesting reading! I don't understand why someone would be so upset that they would feel the need to insult other players, who after all are just here to enjoy the game, but I hope we can collectively move beyond such juvenile behaviour.

I'd just like to say that I didn't demolish much of my island - only the two expensive decos that I found and the sugar mill. I kept production going up to the end, and wound up with 8.5 million shells, which I'm happy with. I didn't have a lot in my island inventory as I sold all the drinks, etc, yesterday evening, and I had only about 3/4 million island dollars left, so I think most of my shells must have come from the buildings & upgrades I did.

I enjoyed the island, but it is expensive, and I would have enjoyed it more if it hadn't taken away from all the building I have yet to do on my other farms. I hope next time it comes my permanent farms will be farther along and it won't seem like such a sacrifice to spend the time and money on the island. I didn't finish book 3, but I'm happy with what I did manage to accomplish without bankrupting myself. I didn't keep track of how much money I spent, but I know I didn't use any gold.

Hey, very nice, but now I can't see any more how much of fertilizer my orchard will take to start a production! That is much more important data!
Correct me please if I've missed something, as I hope I have.

It is sill there as it was before. I just checked on a field of peaches. The amount of fertilizer you need is right in the middle of the circle menu, just put your pointer over the fertilizer and in the circle menu and you will see it, how much the production costs are, and the products of one harvest. I really like the change, much better information for us.

I really like the new ship sounds too. I hope the ship will sound when it comes and leaves too. We really need a way to send the ship on its way when we are done filling it, not just when it is full or 6 hrs. has gone by. If I don't have a product or don't want to give up everything I have of a product right then, and I know I will not have any during the remaining 6 hrs. the ship is here, I should be able to send it on its way, so it can come back again in 6 hrs. for products do have.

Now if you wish to fill your boat, you have NO choice but to play the island because it is the only way to get shells.

I have an other farm in other server. I never went to island from that farm. And I do can fill the ship. If you don't open the island, the ship asks you only 4 items. I don't need shells to fill my ship.
