When you have buy a handbook, you have it forever :)
    - also the handbooks for the tempoary farms (Island and viking) are yours forever when you have buy them, but these event books of course only works when the event the event they are designed to are active.

That hard to answer, because I don't know your playing style and strategies.
But I can tell you which books I have and why I have them:

Wild flower level 1 for help me to get a few more certificates in missions.

Corn level 1 for help me to get a few more certificates in missions, and give a little extra corns when my coop run "The complete movie experience" and it also help a little in task 1 in the "Fairy tale event" where we have to collect corn, and task 1 in event "Not of this world" where we have to collect corn.

Cabbage level 2 help my coop when we run the project "straw-brained or cabbage head" and it also a good help
in the "Fairy tale event" where we have to cabbage, in task 3 in event "Mysterious Asia" where we have to collect cabbage, and in task 1 in event "A hint of Hawaii" where we have to collect cabbage.

Wheat level 2 help my coop when we run the project "straw-brained or cabbage head" and the project "Patty cake, patty cake".

Rest of the books I don't feel I need, or I feel they are to expensive related to what they give.

You do have upgrades you can buy, but yeah handbooks are forever & as for being a good investment, they definately help to have the ones for anything that you specialise in, for example if you have a lot of apple orchards, its obviously good to have the apple handbook, because you will be getting the benefit on each orchard. If you struggle to make enough feed for the number of animals that you have, getting the handbooks for that, again, would be of obvious benefit. It all depends on your own farm set up & situation, what is good for one person may not be needed by another.

Ok, so Hi, I'm new to posting in the forum ;) but I am wondering if the library booster book things are really worth it? I am stingy with my gold, so I don't want to spend it on something that really isn't worth it.

    TIA

Some of them really are worth of gold, but not all of them. I have bought wheat, apples, wild flowers (for missions) corn and feed books. Some others too, but only first level books. I don't buy gold, so not going to buy all books.
Think about wich books gives most and what items you really need more.
(this is only my opinion)  :)

What has happened to the library books?  I haven't seen one on sale for quite some time now.

I still have some I would like to buy.

They pop up a lot for me, usually something I'm not that much interested in -- the one today was for a Village Fair item.

@LuckyViolat (AU1) We often get asked why certain offers have not appeared for a while, but if they ran them all, all of the time, we would be getting more complaints about too many pop-ups, so its never perfect, but if you are waiting for a specific book, we can check if it has really not been seen for a long time or if you just missed it & if it has been a while, they will add it to the schedule. :)

@JANZI (HU1) Last time he was here, he got sick & had to leave early, I don't think that the team have healed him yet, but I will ask on Monday when he is expected to recover. :)

@JANZI (HU1) Good news is that he is going to be fixed, though it would probably be regarded as a bit insensitive for him to visit just at the moment, as there is considerable upset over handbooks, so he is unlikely to return before that is resolved.
  • I guess here is where I can ask about the survey that was presented to us.
We were asked which was the highest library book used for certain items and a couple of the choices confused me. There were Level 7 Mayan handbook - which I thought was the highest possible.
But they also listed Level 8 and 9 Mayan handbooks. :o
Perhaps there are future plans for those levels?
Were they included in the survey just to see if we were paying attention? (kidding) lol  :D

oh and Thank You @WascallyWabbit for letting us know the professor has been 'shelved' until our boosts are fixed

I think this survey was enough to confuse anyone, the way i look at it is we purchased the books in good faith with real money, it doesnt matter what level we use or on what we should get what we paid for and nothing less.

I agree! If we don't stand up and voice our disgust now whats stopping GGS from "re-balancing" other items bought with gold? Today its library handbooks, what will it be tomorrow? The 150 HP and 30VH decoration a player bought for 300k gold has now been changed by GGS to be 100 HP and 10 VH because the initial value ruined the economy of the game (and to encourage players to now buy a new decoration that costs 500k gold with higher happiness values).......just an example of what could happen.

This is common sense, if a player buys something that claims to give a 50% boost it has to remain a 50% boost.....its morally wrong (and illegal away from the gaming world) to start switching values/robbing customers just because you want to promote your newest gold feature.

@Sheila NOLA Gal (US1) @uksharon (GB1)  @gizmo22 (AU1) The survey was not the clearest one I ever saw, but to make it more detailed would have been even more complicated & it was just to get a general idea of how much boosting (& how often) players were using, so that the team could see how much to increase the value of the Handbooks, so that most people would be getting, as close as possible, to what they got before the booster order was changed.

As a result, the handbooks have now all been increased by 50%, which means that all harvests, with no additional boosts or with just humus, will now be 50% higher for the handbook portion & with things like superfeed, machines, sparkles etc they should be close to how they were before. It is possible, that if someone, for example, fed their cows superfeed, used a powerhouse machine on maximum setting & got sparkles on "every" single milk production, they may be getting a bit less than they used to, but that is an extreme example, I think for most people, overall they will be better off now.

The latest on the professor is that he is planned to be fixed in the update that we are waiting for & as far as I know, the higher level books (8 & 9) become available as you buy the one before. - So if you have level 7, Prof James should be offering you level 8.

Just be really very careful not to stand up and voice your disgust about this in coop chat, nor about any of  the many other things that GGS do which warrant disgust  because some short fused player will be bound to come along and throw you out for complaining.too much, even if you are contributing **large amounts** of time, effort and resources to coop events.
