Yes, they should count in projects. There have been bugs in the past, but that has been solved as far as I know.

Do be aware in projects or missions about feed. The handbooks on feed only give extra feed on harvesting, while projects and missions require starting the production of feed an x amount of times. For those projects and missions the handbook does not help!

because projects are at begin and the library are at collect begin is sets of 10 counting as 1 collecting is where your extras go so the set of 10 you start become 11 at level 1

Jatoda, if it's a begin production of task, then you won't see the benefits of the feed because the books benefit is applied at the end of the production cycle when you collect it. You will see the benefits on a task that needs you to collect it though.

we are doing chicken or egg and it is begin. thanks as they say learn something new everyday lol :-)

the library says increases production. my mill is making 24 or 240 but I only get credit for 20 or 200? doesn't make sense that we wouldn't get credit for what we produce. I understand you have it set in increments of 10, but I am still producing and not getting credit for it. i have 227 collected out of the 400 needed. so why don't I get credit for my 4,or 40. if it just counts in 10, why do I have 27 instead of 20 or 30

I just collected my feed from the mill and started it again. I am making 20 and getting credit for 20. my arteries have hardened off again. I think what it was I sold some feed at a lower cost and it just made 200 instead of the 240 I initially was going to make. senior moment what a waste of your time. I am sorry! :-(

If you open the Library it will tell you what each book, at each level, does. For instance the first one corn, at level one has a big orange arrow with "+3", So you will get an extra 3 per harvest.

Be aware that the increase at higher levels is relative to the base amount , not the current amount

A mill on level 6 without the handbook would make 20 batches of 10, so 200 chicken feed. Because a level 6 mill is only capable of starting 20 batches, that is as much as the amounts will count for in the project. At the end, when you harvest the feed, you will get 40 extra feed because of the handbook. The mill will tell you it is producing 240 (since the amounts the handbooks give are calculated in that dialogue window). It does not mean you started 24 batches of 10 though - still counts for 20 :(

Depending on which books you buy in the library it can be very beneficial to your farm. For example, purchasing the apples book/s will help you get farm money faster because you make more apples at a time

What does it means to the base amount? I have level 1 apple. If I buy level 2 will I get 15 more or just 5?

If you buy level 2 apple orchard handbook, you will get +15 more apples from your apple orchards.

    Level 1 - +10 apples
    Level 2 - +15 apples
    Level 3 - +25 apples
    Level 4 - +45 apples
    Level 5 - +60 apples

    Check out this spreadsheet.

If you buy level 2 apple orchard handbook, you will get +15 more apples from your apple orchards.[...]

So basically that indeed means you get just 5 more seen from the perspective of the level 1 handbook. The base amount is the amount of apples your orchard produces when you have bought no handbooks for apples at all. Level 1 will give 10 extra on top of that amount, and level 2 will give 15 extra also on top of that initial amount (so 5 more than level 1 gives).

You can buy Books, or Farm Boosters there

It was introduced back in December. You can read about it in the Officla announcement thread called Bibliophilia

In addition to Samty's post... the library has books available that you can purchase with gold. There are 5 levels to each, and each one will do something specific on your farm.

The chicken feed books allows you to collect more bags of feed at the completion of the milling; the apples books allow for more apples to be harvested and so on.

I keep getting the popups for the 20% reduction for handbooks. Is it really worth having them if I have the gold to buy them? How much do they really help. I can't imagine anyone wants the pig one because pigs are useless but others like the apples and wheat? Any insight is helpful

The handbooks are helpful, especially if you are having trouble keeping up with production of certain items. I have the first three levels of of all but the pig feed, cow feed, cows (milk), and cherries. For those four I have 2nd level. I will probably get the third level of these, but want to see the gourmet farm changes first. May need my gold there.

Today I bought the first cow feed book. So I should get +1 per every cow feed I produce in the mill.

I just started the mill for 200 feed and there is only +9. Were is the rest? I should be getting +20, right?

Thanks for looking and hopefully answering.

I think you should be getting one extra bag of cow feed when harvesting. That means you get 201 cow feed when you harvest. It does work like that for the other things like wheat, cherries, eggs, etc. Correct me if I'm wrong - not much experience with handbooks.
  • edited 22.05.2014
For every 10 feed you make, you will get one extra. So you are really making 11 feed, or 22 feed, 33, 44, etc...

I have the cow feed handbook. That is what it does.

When you go to make feed, you will see the little handbook in the square with cow feed. Your starting amount to make feed will say 11. It is taking the handbook into account immediately. It does not take affect after the fact like other handbooks do.

    Hope that helps!

    That's what I thought so.

I should be getting 220, but the mill says that I'm getting only 209...

209 is 11 x 19 . . . which tells me that you only had enough wheat to make 19 batches not a full 20.

Are the hand books offered at a discount based on your activity at your 2 farm. I would like the goat hand book but I have never been offered the hand book I do not run goats as much as other animals.
