You din't earn dollars from selling the Fizz but shells

You may be right but right now we don't know how much is a shell is worth but it's probably more than 1 Island Dollar so probably not a loss

If you make the for the task, then the task reward makes it worthwhile.
Thats the only time I made them, even selling the oranges was more profitable last time I checked.

You need dollars for this to start producing. You can sell the orange fizz for shells which you can trade for decoration and in the future for seeds. There is no way you can make a profit and earn dollars at the island farm, this is only available when trading your farm dollars for island dollars at the island bank.

You could also try to lower your running costs by putting more decorations on your island farm so you gain more shells with lower dollar costs.

Yeah, I've stopped producing fizzes now that I've finished the task asking for them. The building is just sitting there, waiting for the next task that requires it. I've found these tasks are a lot easier if I only run buildings on demand.
