You can see your island farm progress easily if you check on what main story arc quest you're on (the ones with the bigger windows). There are 3 story arcs, all divided into smaller quests. If you complete story arc 1, you get the first sandcastle deco, and so on.

Horseshoes will be added a bit later, you can't collect them yet. Palm trees for your main farm are only available through the shell trader on your main farm.

I hope I was able to answer all your questions :)

I bought a second plot of ground, cleared it and built a mango grove. Then I cleared another section of ground to build sugar mill. When I started building the sugar mill, the mango grove disappeared and the second cleared plot of ground was covered over again!! Help. I have signed out and back in twice. Didn't help. Also sound is now gone??? Any ideas.

Answered with this in the other thread where you asked:

Have you also cleared caches? Seems like the game is being loaded from an old saved version. Make sure the game is loading from the game server and there are no old files on your computer. There is a tutorial in the technical problems forum if you need it :)

Got the sound back. Hit the bulldozer again - and it cleared same ground a second time - I didn't have to buy the ground again, but the mango grove never came back - so I just bought it again!! Do we need banana and coconut groves too - to make the drinks? So have to buy at least 2 more pieces of land, one for each grove, right?

Sorry, i know this is only in English forum, but i'm not gonna translate this in English........;)

One of the CMs said it was a recurring event but it won't run again immediately. There will be a break in between. But there was no indication how long that break would be

Be sure to build some decoration to keep costs to a minimum. Also, the island event is mainly planned for high level players (~60+), so you might have a harder time if you're slightly over 30, for example. You still can play no problem of course, and you still will get lots of shells out of it :)

Can we keep the shells gained after the event end for the next island event ?

Can you buy décor with seashells and place it on the island? does anyone know. I know you cannot place drop box décor on the island but I have not bought any Island items with seashells yet and tried placing them. thanks!

No, you cannot. You are supposed to buy them with dollars or gold. Benny only offers the decos for shells to be able to place them on your own farms (main, gourmet and flower) because there is no other way to obtain them for those farms and unlock them in the deco tower.

I suppose you can keep the shells btw, farmerdomi. The dollars that are left and the products in your island farm management when the event timer runs out will be transferred into shells. That would seem useless to me if you could not keep the shells ; ) Benny will also be around a bit longer than the duration of the event so you can still buy some decos with the final count of shells you got. I suppose any left over shells will stay in your inventory until the next event comes around for you to start increasing that amount again.

Yeah, this event is really only fun when you have so much money that your budget is basically 'unlimited'. It is definitely a money-wasting event, though that was kinda obvious once it was made clear you don't make money on the island, you just get shells good on deco trade-ins. I found that out on day 1.

It's like the charity drive, but with more skill involved and extra features that open up other things.

I am less angry about it now then I was a couple of days ago, after I saw somehwere that it was recommended for levels 60+ even though its open to 30+.... I was only on 42 when I started it & myself and several others under level 50 have found it a real struggle.

The warning to levels 30-60 should have been MUCH clearer, before we all rushed in, but it was there, so its my own fault at the end of the day.

    Such is life! :whistling:

Latten, please, can you tell me how long will be break between island event? 2-3 months? or 2-3 weeks?
I am lvl 60 and I find it difficult to play it right now. I would prefer to develop my farms a little bit more first. ^^

Latten said it on this thread (Post #14 ) & I saw another poster on the forums say they had seen it somehwere, but I didn`t see it mentioned anywhere in the announcement or the emails before we started though, which would have been a helpful headsup. 8|

Yeah, it would've been helpful to know ahead of time. But I'm just chalking this time up to 'learning experience'. I'll do much better at this event next time. I know what to do, how to do it and I'll be saving up tons of money for it. I want those high-level decos. 135 happiness? Sure! Why not? I don't care how many times I have to do the island farm to get them, they're my goal.

Yep I agree, I wasted a shedload of money that could have been avoided, but my main farms will make it back again so no point sweating it... Live & learn as they say

The sand castles are in your drop box on one of your main farms. Not on your island farm. The palm tree shows up in the drop box of your island farm.
Both drop boxes are separate. The stuff that shows up in the island drop box can only be built on the island and will disappear after a month when the timer runs out. The stuff in your main farm drop box can only be built on your main, gourmet or flower farm and will be yours to keep forever :)

Yes. You will have to buy everything again. The entire island will be reset to the point you started with this time as well. Just the bar at level 1, field level 1, bank level 1, farmhouse level 1, fence and gate level 1 and 4 plots.

I would like to question as to how to retrieve the sandcastle decoration from the dropbox to use on new Island farm. The dropbox option is not available on the island like on all the other farms. If this is possible please let me know, if not I would like to ask why we can't

    Thank you
