GGS not letting me switch servers

Wildcard999Wildcard999 Posts: 967
I keep trying to log out so I can switch servers and every time I do, it just takes me to the stupid 'connect' page! Then when I connect, it just logs me back in again! I've only just created a new account on a new server, so I don't know the in's and out's of switching servers, but should it really be this hard? Is there a bug or a special trick or something? Maybe even a link I don't know to the server page?

Thank you in advance for the help.

Edit: Okay, after about the ninth time logging out, I finally got to the server page and was able to change servers. I still don't know why this became such a problem. If it helps, I had 'remember me' checked off, but previously, logging out had always taken me to the server page.

Try using a second separate incognito or private browser window to open Big Farm. That's how I play both my servers at the same time. It should take you right to the log in page as it doesn't have your saved information.

I was thinking I might have to resort to that, but I've found having two browsers open is hard on the computer. It takes up a lot of disc space.

Here's to hoping for a better answer to why Big Farm wasn't doing what it normally did after I log out.

Sounds like a cash issue maybe :) Did you try clearing caches while you were trying to log out? Ever since I checked the remember me box off I never had problems logging in on 4 tabs in the same browser, without any incognito tabs or something. You could also remove your password from the browser memory to make sure he does not remember it. It must be somewhere in the browser settings.

No, didn't clear my cache. Should've thought of that myself. I haven't been having issues since the problem spontaneously fixed itself though, but I'll keep it in mind for the next time.

Btw, what is an 'incognito' tab?

It's a tab you can start in some (not sure if all) browsers that does not store any data. For example if you are on a shared computer and you want to watch websites you do not want the other person to know you watched, you can enter them through an incognito tab and they cannot check back on you later to see what you browsed for because the history is not there.

And they do not store your password or other identifiable data. I use them to get around newspapers and other site that only let you read so many articles before you have to buy an online subscription. I also use them to play all my different server farms at the same time.

Edit: the term is used for Chrome browsers

Indeed, Opera calls it a private window. If I open it, it says: when you close this window, Opera will erase all associated info. I also used the incognito tab from Chrome before and firefox also has a private window. That one tells me it will not store any history information or cookies about the pages I visit, but my employer (if this would be a computer from a company) or my internet service provider could still follow me!

Okay, thanks guys. I'm sticking with IE. I've had problems with Chrome and Firefox and though I've had problems with IE, I am not having them currently. Plus, my mom hates it when she has to learn a new program or browser.

IE has an in-private navigation through the Extra tab in its menu :) So then I think I determined for myself that indeed all browsers have this option XD
