Hi Kbahr007, Yes it's very disheartening when you're a newbie with like 2-3 of each item, and blip over to a competitor to see a sea sties, sheds, coops. You know from the start that you're dead in the water.
"From the Announcement"
Matchmaking and scores
In the beginning, there will be certain player groups that cannot mix. This means it's highly unlikely that a level 8 player will meet a player above level 15 in a mission group. However, the more you progress through missions, the more focus will be put in your performance, instead of your level. So if you perform significantly better than other players in your level range, the game might put you against stronger competitors to keep the missions challenging. On the other hand, if you are not so good at missions, the game will help you out by assigning you into a lower level range.
The matchmaking process may take up to 5 minutes. If no other players were found for a mission group within this time frame, the mission will start anyway and you will be the only person in the group - you will not be teamed up with a high level player anymore.
Since there is no competition, the rank bonus will be lowered a bit, the bonus for your activity will stay the same.
Ciao,
Jan
He is lvl 60, had a complete empty farm and no rep points.
Im lvl 172 and 460k rep points.
So, how exactly does this socalled matching work?
Who won? hehe :whistling:
I didn`t think it was based on levels or points, but on how well u perform in missions - So if you keep winning your opponents get tougher. I have also heard people say that if you deliberately put out low scores to lose a few, you will drop back down to easier opponents. If thats true, maybe the player in question went out on a high, so to speak, & now that he is back he needs to lose a few before the system catches up with his new status.
It would be interesting to ask him after he has done a few more missions if the theories are true.
Performance in missions= rep points.
He gave me a tough competition
Wow, if he gave you tough competition with an empty farm, no wonder he`s playing with the big dawgs lol
As for performance= RP, do we know for a fact thats how its measured? You may have a farm capable of throwing out some really high scores, but if you don`t play missions often you wouldn`t have many RP, especially as it drops 10% each week. Maybe it remembers your last few scores in each type of mission... I am only guessing here, but based on some of the scenarios people post about, something like that would seem to fit. I doubt that GGS would ever tell us, as it would make it too easy to play the system if we knew exactly how it worked.
Now it's a little bit better. but when you see someone producing like 400 + eggs within a couple of minutes... Then you get very little for your effort as the difference is so HUGE! There should be a fixed amount given out for different places. No 1 gets one sum, no 2 another and accoriding how hard it is.. Wild Flowers are easy - as they only take 2 minutes.
This sounds like you did not know the strategy, where you have some thing ready to harvest when a mission begin?
When I want to play missions, the first thing I do is to prepare my farm for it...
I saw wildflowers or/and corn on my fields - sometimes a mix and sometimes some of them as the special type with humus.
Then I wait to the fields are ready to be harvest, and first when the mission are started, I harvest my fields and get a nice start (if I'm was lucky to get a mission with the seed I have on my fields).
I normaly only play missions when all my buildings are ready to harvest, after I for several hours have been offline, then I'm well prepared for everything.
I should have proof read my post a bit better - still sleepy head I think. Not enough coffee.
Yes, that's easy to explain.
If you vist my farm, you will see I have 7 duck coops (level 6) on my gourmet farm, they gives total 3500 eggs when I harvest them all at the same time.
I have seen farms who have up to 17 duck coops, and have read about somebody have more.
Like Brianno said, easy to explain, 20 duck coops / 15 chicken coops, if i'm correct, go to see top ranking farm in our server. It is a LOT of eggs in one harvest...
As for as missions it is grossly unfair.
You must have done really well in some missions and so you get put against tougher opponents. If they are really high levelled, they may have done really badly in some & are being put against your lower level. If you, put in a few bad scores (not inactives) you will go back down too.
Also, the reason they start with a score is because they had their stuff sitting ready to harvest (possibly special corn + humus) & they harvested as soon as the mission began. ^^
Even if you get 6th place, you still receive a decent amount of credit for what you collected.
TOTALLY SO UNFAIR
How is this fair in anyway??
