Hi Kbahr007, Yes it's very disheartening when you're a newbie with like 2-3 of each item, and blip over to a competitor to see a sea sties, sheds, coops. You know from the start that you're dead in the water.

    "From the Announcement"

    Matchmaking and scores

In the beginning, there will be certain player groups that cannot mix. This means it's highly unlikely that a level 8 player will meet a player above level 15 in a mission group. However, the more you progress through missions, the more focus will be put in your performance, instead of your level. So if you perform significantly better than other players in your level range, the game might put you against stronger competitors to keep the missions challenging. On the other hand, if you are not so good at missions, the game will help you out by assigning you into a lower level range.
The matchmaking process may take up to 5 minutes. If no other players were found for a mission group within this time frame, the mission will start anyway and you will be the only person in the group - you will not be teamed up with a high level player anymore.
Since there is no competition, the rank bonus will be lowered a bit, the bonus for your activity will stay the same.

Thank you Manish. That explains a lot. I couldn't figure out why I was always being paired against ppl 40-120 levels above me. This info helps me understand it. Thanks again. Have a great week, and happy farming.

    Ciao,

I agree that it is a good way to do it. The only problem would be a person that is new to missions sees a person extremely higher in levels competing against him. It may tend to stress them a little

The last six missions I have attempted my competitors have been at level 100+ how can I possibly compete at level 49. I am still building up my fields, pig.cow and chicken coops while they have theirs fully built plus have used the architech to build further, I cannot possibly beat them or even match them, there should be missions for over level 50 and under level 50 to give everyone a chance.:cursing::cursing::cursing:

This morning i was matched with a player who just started playing BF again after a long vacation.
He is lvl 60, had a complete empty farm and no rep points.
Im lvl 172 and 460k rep points.
So, how exactly does this socalled matching work?

    Who won? hehe :whistling:

I didn`t think it was based on levels or points, but on how well u perform in missions - So if you keep winning your opponents get tougher. I have also heard people say that if you deliberately put out low scores to lose a few, you will drop back down to easier opponents. If thats true, maybe the player in question went out on a high, so to speak, & now that he is back he needs to lose a few before the system catches up with his new status.

It would be interesting to ask him after he has done a few more missions if the theories are true.

    @RWS,
    Performance in missions= rep points.
He gave me a tough competition :), and joined our coop.

Wow, if he gave you tough competition with an empty farm, no wonder he`s playing with the big dawgs lol24_zpsrquk0gyh.gif

As for performance= RP, do we know for a fact thats how its measured? You may have a farm capable of throwing out some really high scores, but if you don`t play missions often you wouldn`t have many RP, especially as it drops 10% each week. Maybe it remembers your last few scores in each type of mission... I am only guessing here, but based on some of the scenarios people post about, something like that would seem to fit. I doubt that GGS would ever tell us, as it would make it too easy to play the system if we knew exactly how it worked.

I got a few very lucky timings in a row and then found myself way out of my league. Now I'm back with "correct" opponents. But now I had my third corn mission in a row. X(

It's not true that everyone, regardless gets certificates in a mission. It's also stated amongst the tips about them - at least in Swedish. Due to phone calls I've missed out of certificates twice despite harvesting. And omce because I didn't "performed enough" despite I was sitting there and really paid attention - that time I was paired up with 5 otherplayers with maxed out farms, tractors etc.

Now it's a little bit better. but when you see someone producing like 400 + eggs within a couple of minutes... Then you get very little for your effort as the difference is so HUGE! There should be a fixed amount given out for different places. No 1 gets one sum, no 2 another and accoriding how hard it is.. Wild Flowers are easy - as they only take 2 minutes.

This sounds like you did not know the strategy, where you have some thing ready to harvest when a mission begin?

When I want to play missions, the first thing I do is to prepare my farm for it...
I saw wildflowers or/and corn on my fields - sometimes a mix and sometimes some of them as the special type with humus.
Then I wait to the fields are ready to be harvest, and first when the mission are started, I harvest my fields and get a nice start (if I'm was lucky to get a mission with the seed I have on my fields).

I normaly only play missions when all my buildings are ready to harvest, after I for several hours have been offline, then I'm well prepared for everything. :)

I agree with Brian, 400+ may seem a lot to you now, but before long you will be seeing people posting 1000s as soon as the missions starts & it has nothing to do with using gold. Just building, upgrades, bonus`s & good tactics

Oh sorry about that. I forgot a zero. I meant 4000 of course! I do realize it has to do with coordination of soil, tractors, upgrades etc. as well. But I've seen 4000+ EGGS on only 2 chicken coops... within a couple of minutes. Those coops were level 6, but anyway... Can someone explain how you can harvest 4000 + eggs in about 2 minutes on 2 chicken coops without using gold or gold costing things like sea weed feed? If it had been like 5 or 6 coops it had been easier to understand, but this were just 2. I checked the farm - twice - got curious. :)

I should have proof read my post a bit better - still sleepy head I think. Not enough coffee. :p

Yes, that's easy to explain. :)
If you vist my farm, you will see I have 7 duck coops (level 6) on my gourmet farm, they gives total 3500 eggs when I harvest them all at the same time. :)

I have seen farms who have up to 17 duck coops, and have read about somebody have more.

Like Brianno said, easy to explain, 20 duck coops / 15 chicken coops, if i'm correct, go to see top ranking farm in our server. It is a LOT of eggs in one harvest... ;)

Yes DAra. THAT would not be strange at all, but in this specific case the person only had 2 coops and managed 4000+ eggs within a couple of minutes... THAT's not possible without a lot of sea weed food, and gold I believe. If you have 15-20 coops - no wonder. LOL

It is a very unhealthy competition. Members of low level co-operatives are being attracted by high level co-operatives. In my opinion there will be very low number of active co-operatives, because above 50 ranked co-operatives can appoint about 50 to 65 members, I think there are no members available for smaller co-operatives. GGS has to rethink about it seriously.

As for as missions it is grossly unfair.

There has been a couple of days with the cooperative challenge and most missions had more then 1 person in them. Maybe people are done with them and are just waiting for the next round of cooperative challenges. It could be that you are playing on a time that not many people play missions. You will eventually be ready with all farm machines and like many players you can stop playing the missions.

can someone please tell me why am i being placed into missons to compete with players that are on level 114, 109, level 80's and up when am only on level 58? that's so not cool and it needs to be fixed. i hate doing missons because of it. i have no fair chance to win competing against such high level players. as soon as the mission starts, some player already have over a thousand corn an i have none. please help!

You must have done really well in some missions and so you get put against tougher opponents. If they are really high levelled, they may have done really badly in some & are being put against your lower level. If you, put in a few bad scores (not inactives) you will go back down too.

Also, the reason they start with a score is because they had their stuff sitting ready to harvest (possibly special corn + humus) & they harvested as soon as the mission began. ^^

You can not choose the mission. The mission is randomly choosen.

Even high level players run out of eggs, dung, have their fields full of wheat, cabbage, etc. I've won many times against higher level players. I always do missions prepared with wf, corn planted and all stables ready to harvest.
Even if you get 6th place, you still receive a decent amount of credit for what you collected.
  • edited 19.01.2015
i'm feeling the same way. Here i'm in a mission for wf and partnered up with someone whose level is 119 and from the get go, they had over 4600 wfs and i'm only level 34. And then there's this paying gold for the win. What about those of us who don't have the gold to go and buy our wins?

    TOTALLY SO UNFAIR

They need a better system. High level players should not be able to intentionally or unintentionally put in a bad performance then be put up against lower level players which pretty guarantees the win without buying it. Even if I start a mission ready to go as suggested, I am only level 16 so there is no way I can even hope to get the 1st place rewards. As for buying the win...gold should not be available to use for skips during the challenges. It's unfair.

How is this fair in anyway??
