why would i be given a mission to do that has nothing to do with what im doing on my farm? Example: I have just planted cabbage and mill is milling pigs. What mission do i get you ask? Collect as much corn as you can in 30 min. knowing i can't I have cabbage planted!!!! So i loose before i even start!!!!!

The missions you get are completely random...... It doesn't see what you're doing, it just puts you in whatever is available for your level range :)

I understand that but sets you up to fail for any certificates before you start.

There are strategies you can use to prepare for whatever mission you get, such as having crops ready to harvest before you start a mission search. But when you do missions back to back, it gets a bit tougher to get ready for them.

I just don't start a mission if I am growing cabbage or wheat . . . majority of the random mission choice for me is corn or wildflowers so I don't even go looking for a mission until my fields are either ready to be harvested or empty waiting for a crop.

Madilin9, I can understand how frustrated you could be. There was an announcement on the new mission setup and it stated that only 1 of 4 missions would be given to you as your challenge. You can either get: collect as much corn, wildflowers, eggs or dung. That's it.

So, like others have suggested, to win you'll have to start a mission with as much of these 4 as you can. Get your gourmet farm ready for harvest too and it will help you considerably, especially for the eggs or dung mission.

    Good luck!

I have a concern about missions. Why am I level 57 and the last three missions I have been paired with an 88, 96 and 104. No way I can compete with people of these levels.

Why would you plant cabbage and then sign up for a mission knowing this could happen?

I too usually seem to be paired with people at much higher levels than I am. Despite that, I do occasionally manage to win. What this tells me is that winning missions these days is mostly luck. You don't know what mission you'll be given, so it's not possible to plan. Unless you start a mission first thing in the morning, when you haven't harvested your overnight production yet, you may wind up having to collect something you've just harvested.

So I don't worry about winning. I take part in the missions because I want certificates for when we get our new garages. And even if I come in last, I always get a few certificates as long as I participated. The only "strategy" (if it can be called that) I have is to not start a mission if I've just planted cabbages or wheat, as someone posted above.

I know these missions are supposed to be random, but I have had at least 8 corn missions since last night with only a few different ones tossed in there (dung twice and wildflowers twice). Why so many corn missions??? I actually had 5 corn missions in a row last night! ;(

Yesterday, I was ranked 47 in reputation and I get dud missions all the time. It's a numbers game. Enter enough and do well enough in those and you'll eventually get a decent number of certificates. Me? I produce TONS of dung all the time to support all the orchards I have, so my money is really on the dung missions. When I have big-ticket buildings ready to harvest, I wait until I can start a new mission before I harvest them, unless I'm already in a dung mission when they finish. I often take number 1 and win tons of certificates. I also often get a message about needing a minimum number of harvests to participate.

It does suck, but think how much more it would suck if we could pick missions and you always went up against someone who had 8000 whatever to harvest the second the mission started? I ran into that all the time before they changed the missions. It doesn't happen nearly as often now.

My strategy is, why not win stuff for the things I'm going to be harvest anyway? I'll start missions no matter what I just planted. I just won't worry about it if it comes up flowers or corn and none of my fields will be free until it ends. I didn't lose anything, so I get the same whether I joined the mission or not. And it at least boosts somebody else's numbers, so why not?

I totally agree. At least with this set up you are not loosing anything if you do not come in the top 4. If you are not able to compete with that mission do not worry there is really no negative effects with not participating (aside from not being able to do another mission for 1/2 an hour).

Although you can use the knowledge of knowing what the possible missions that you may get are. I will not sign for a mission unless I have corn or wildflowers in my fields and if my pigs are ready to be collected within the next 1/2 hour.

Also, I know I'm free to sell off all the apples, milk and other items I want since all the selling missions are gone. I used to stockpile everything in case I could enter a mission for selling them because I was basically participating in them constantly. Now there's little reason to stockpile anything but feed and feed ingredients.
