Ok so there is some talk about making money or lack of on the farm. I dont know that im doing anything different than anyone else so let me say the first thing that is probably most important is the happiness of your farms as your happiness goes up the lower the cost to run them this was easier before the fix when you could get 100% but now im not sure thats possible so if you have alot of low happiness decos you need to be upgrading them. The next thing is if youve looked at my farms you will see I have more than enough of everything to fill my barns with 1 harvest with an exception of a few things, I look at my barns as a bank when their full they stay that way until I need some money for the coop or the charity event. So with my barns full it allows me to produce the most expensive product for each farm all the time except for when im restocking something else.OK,OK big money items Cherries $198per Peaches $100per Almonds and Olives $90per Lavender $200per and any of the bakery items are good but I rather the Fruit cake @ $680 or Apple Pie @ $460 and on the flower farm Honey cream @ $620,000per(depending on the level of your shop) and Aloe vera gel @ $270per. I have been trying to make my farms so I dont run out of the products I need to make the most expensive things and still have some work to do on the second and third farms but am getting close. So I hope after reading this it helps you if not I will be more the happy to answer any questions. Check your happiness, produce more than you need and then produce the most expensive product you can for as long as you can. Mike D.

I wanted to take a minute and let everyone know what a great job yall have been doing. We are about to be ranked under 100, do you know what that means. Ill tell you, we have been kicking some serious _ _ _ if you know what i mean. I love seeing all the shovels and some of the lower level players starting to pickup, still a few hold outs but as always we will work it out.
Rhinana has done a great job in helping some of our newest member get up to speed with research and being a productive member of the coop. For the new members I would like to welcome you to Doves Hollow if I havent already and let you know we tend to move pretty fast around here so watch your feet or you might get your toes run over by a tractor or 2 dont worry about how much you can contribute in projects just do the best you can as your levels rise so will your production.
That just leaves my heavy hitters, great job all. I would like to thank each and everyone of you also for keeping my shovel and fork clean and well oiled for me, Ive been having to put in a lot of overtime lately to help get these planes out and as soon as thats done im putting all of you on notice. I will have my shovel and fork back, so be warned and if you think you can come getem.

    Thanks All
    Mike D.

Is there a way to transfer extra workers from one of my farms to another? I don't think there is but I want to double check in case I overlooked something.

    Thanks!

I see that we are doing the Organic eggs- level 2. Was that posted in anticipation of the more colorful wildflower research ending later today? I get error messages when I try to do more than one at a time.

    Low level applicants and acceptance.
Ive fought with this issue from the birth of this coop, it is one of the hardest things to deal with in trying to make this the best coop. I have at times let people in at low levels, some of you might remember you were low level players when we first met and look at you now. But we have had to chop a lot of heads along the way and that is why we have set a level to be accepted, personally I still think its kind of low but its extremelly hard to find people that are commited to play the game.
I still do it sometimes and Rhinana yells at me about it, which is good. I love that she has a passion for this game and coop as I do. I dont want the other deputies that have the ability to find new players and accept them into the coop to stop just because I or someone ask a question about a selection. I know a few times we have made a booboo and let people in more than once with pretty much the same result, and thats ok We can make mistakes so as long as we communicate with each other we'll get past it and keep moving forward.
I sort of agree with Mcfitz about how do you know if someone is good or not if you dont give them a chance, just take a look at 1 of our latest finds, mrs.dean she is really diggin dirt and am glad we found her.
So with that said heres what I would like to see from the deputies and please let me know if you think this wont work or if you see a better way.
I would like to see a mentorship by you of your applicant that you accept, that means everything from the first emails describing the coop and what is expected to acceptance and even the get off your butts and do something emails, and please make them aware they are in a probation period, I want you to tell me when you think that person is done if there good we will all see it but if there bad we need to know as soon as possible so we can open a slot for the next person.
I would also like to leave a open slot in the coop so that if any of us are trolling the forums and we find a high level player looking for a home we can respond quickly and not have to wait for the boot.

In summary 1 open slot for high level player, mentorship of your applicant for a probation period, I say 2 weeks maybe longer but you all let me know what you think and maybe we can come up with a system where we can improve on our system, because believe me you all might fight over my golden shovel and fork but none of you will ever get to wear my golden boot unfortunately

I think the mentorship idea is a great suggestion. It would have helped me (as you notice I ask a lot of questions!). The information provided in the game's help section is sorely lacking and searching the boards for an answer returns way too many irrealavant results. A mentor, or at leat a point person whose job is to answer questions and hand hold, may reduce frustration and keep new players in the game.

I like the mentorship idea as well!

I typically contact the new players and send them our rules and regulations email but sometimes I miss some new people when I'm not on for a bit. If the person who actually adds them would contact them it would ensure they get the information quickly. The email I send is just a copy and paste from the post up here.

I also add for them to message me back saying they understand the rules now. Doesn't always happen but I get a good feeling about those who do!

Thank you for your application to Doves Hollow, before acceptance there are a few requirements you will need to know and acknowledge.
    1) Daily Play
    2) Level 20 or better
    3) Participation in Research and Projects

Upon your acknowledgement of our requirements you will be accepted on a probationary period of time, if you are level 20 or better your probation period will be 2 weeks and the person who accepted you into the coop will be your mentor. General questions can be asked regularly of all coop members but for more detailed answer and questions you will need to communicate with your mentor, after 2 weeks they will make a recommendation on whether you will become a member,if you need more time and support or should leave the coop. All applicants level 20 or lower the above applies as well except you will be evaluated every week. All mentors will treat you with respect and you should do the same, they are there to help you so listen and learn, what they say carries the full weight of the coop and it only benefits you.
So if you think you have what it takes stepup or step back because were coming through on our way to the top.

    Thanks Mike D.
    Doves Hollow

I too agree with the mentorship.. If you add someone it's only fair to them and the rest of the co op to help them in anyway.. I usually send out a welcome message to new members letting them know that they can send me or any of the deputies a message with any question big or small. I don't think its the level that matters I joined 5 months ago at level 7 and now i'm level 70 it all comes down to if you love the game! It all takes time and we have an AWESOME TEAM of players.. Happy Farming Farmers!!!

The mentorship is the best way to handle this. If a player is serious about playing then they will be willing to follow the mentorship program we set up regardless of level. And like Thunderhill I have only been playing a few months not sure what level I was at when I joined the Coop. You guys have been very helpful with any question I have asked. So with that said let make this the best Coop on here!!

Watering trees: I think we should strongly encourage people to water each other's coop trees. Free money! The entry level tree is ready to harvest in only ten waterings. In theory, it is possible to harvest one's tree twice a day since there are over 20 in the coop. I've leveled up once and now only require 11 waterings but I don't know what the requirement is for you all in the 60s and 70s levels. Making it a requirement for our coop would allow the lower level players like myself to help everyone even when we can't donate huge amounts of stuff to tasks or research. Mentors, please mention this your your initiates.

What I enjoy about watering the coop trees is it gives me a chance to study and admire my fellow members farms.
I sometimes even go check out the second and third farms.
Believe it or not I have learned a lot just by checking the lay outs and buildings.
This is something the new farmers to the coop might want to pay attention to also.
We have some smart people in out coop and they are willing to help or advise ...never be shy about asking for opinions or help .
