I'd like to start a thread comparing items on the Main Farm vs those on the NEW Gourmet Farm.
This is to help us as we decide which to upgrade and which to use depending on our needs.

I'll begin with a comparison of the Silos & Composters. My chart only has the first three levels and my running costs that are specific to my farm but still give a general idea.

on Gourmet farm:

SILO (running costs 180; xp 1):
  • level 1, uses 178 dung and takes 2 hrs 48 minutes;
  • level 2, uses 174, takes 1:42;
  • level 3 silo uses 170 takes 1:24.

COMPOSTER (running costs 81; xp 1):
  • level 1, uses 30 leaves and takes 1 hr 20 minutes;
  • level 2, 27 leaves takes 50 minutes;
  • level 3, 24 takes 30 minutes.

on Main farm:

SILO (running costs 304; xp 6):
  • level 1 silo uses 210 dung and takes 56 minutes to make fertilizer;
  • level 2 silo uses 205, takes 34 minutes;
  • level 3 silo uses 200, takes 28 minutes.

COMPOSTER (running costs 87; xp 6):
  • level 1 composter uses 20 leaves and takes 4:00 hrs;
  • level 2 uses 18, takes 2:30;
  • level 3 uses 16, takes 1:30.

    The buildings on the gourmet farm give you 1 XP per humus or fertilizer, on the main farm you get 6 XP per humus or fertilizer.

    I thought it would be nice to see this with more directly comparable costs, so I fiddled my gourmet farm down to match my main farm. Here's running costs at -66% on both farms:

    Silo: Gourmet $473, Main $431

    Composter: Gourmet $213, Main $123

    Has anyone else noticed that the cost of upgrade on main farm went up? I calculated cost 2 do upgrades on my farm so that everything is at its maximum level for the level I am on and found that the cost 2 upgrade my fields went up $200,000 EACH. What is up with that what once would have cost me $600,000 2 upgrade all 4 of my fields 2 level 5 now will cost me $1,400,000 this doesn't make me happy. It is hard enough 2 make money as it is but what is up with the increase cost 2 upgrade??????

    *divides total $1,400,000 by 4 fields* Um, $350,000 for a level 5 field is not a new price; I recorded that amount ages ago, and so did WhiteFin.

    You should probably note that a level 6 field costs $900,000, and a level 7 field is $1,400,000, so you won't be surprised next time.
