Something tells me that whoever was project team leader of the balancers will NOT be the same person this time around. ;(
My bakery was running at lvl 5, where the icecream sold for 280k. If I use 405k in my datasheet, as you seem to use (I am unsure what the icecream was worth at higher levels, so I'll take your word for it) I come to 36,933 per hour with my calculations. This is lower than yours because I take every production cost into account, up to the sowing and running costs of the wheat required to make milk for cream.
I also calculate all the production cost and if it turns out the cost is cheaper than the selling cost (profitable item)... then I take the selling cost for my other calculations.
If you were not running the highest version of the restaurant then it makes sense. The difference from 36k$/h to 43k$/h can be explained by research differences. Thank you for your explanation.
Well, this post is a couple of days outdated, but heaven forbid a player that's been on for well over a year gets a second go round. Ur statement is totally ridiculous. They do it the first time and get 5X the xp we got for it. I don't think it is unfair for us to get the second go round. Ur talking about players that may only have been on for 3 months. Just sayin, heaven forbid we get a "tiny" reward for being in the game longer.
so lets just forget the numbers. lets just pretend that the money you make from selling each recipe from the updated Bakery on Wednesday April 9th and the recipes from the old Restaurant are exactly the same. production costs included. even with the money that could have been made from selling each individual ingredient. all of that together and we d end up with the exact same amount. making the Bakery and Restaurant equals. that way we do not argue about impossible to count and compare stuff as i explained in the first paragraph. if we do pretend that we are left with two problems.
1. we will now be using most of our Main Farm and Gourmet Farm ingredients for Bakery recipes. with the Restaurant we used most of our Gourmet Farm ingredients but very few of the Main Farm ingredients. which means that our Main Farm was making us money from selling apples and milk etc. with the Bakery recipes we have now we will make less money just because (remember we are pretending all recipes make the same amount of money) we won t be selling all the stuff we used to sell from our Main Farms.
2. i know that at even at level 71 there is no way that with the amount of ingredients needed for the Bakery that i will be able to keep it producing stuff all the time. yes yes you are all right. one day maybe after i demolish a bunch of stuff and redo my Main Farm and now my Gourmet Farm i will manage to do so but that will be long in coming since we make less money now and doing so will still not remove Problem #1.
of course some of you may be able to keep production going at all times on the new Bakery but i doubt there are many of you, especially under level 75. also i have read some posts that suggest that maybe with all the new content that will be added like the airport and such, that it will make this new Bakery way better than the Restaurant ever was. if so then Good Games needs to let us know now. after people quit it s a bit too late. and well yes some people will be willing to stick it out just in case it ends up being awesome. but how long will people have to wait? if i don t know how long i d rather go and find another game.
which brings me to another point people have made. other games will do the same. yes others will do the same but not all. i doubt that it would have been much harder to add a fourth farm than it was to redo one. adding content is very different than replacing content. games that survive usually add and not replace. i ll hope to find one that does just that and i hope the same for everyone who will leave and those who already have left.
now for the Good Games people. slowing the game down by having me make less money means that i ll feel like i m not getting anywhere which means that there is not really any reason to play this game. especially since instead of building and upgrading, i ll be demolishing and replacing stuff to try and make this Bakery useful. i still won t be moving forward, i ll be trying to get back to where i was. no progress, no fun. and this being a game...
Since gourmet farm production now counts in coop projects why are there no collectibles dropping from gourmet gardens, stables, and buildings? Seems unfair to me!
As for bakery, the claims of 27,000 dollars + profit per hour (apple turnovers) while true is not as great as it looks when compared to the profits you receive by selling the ingredients required to produce them. Apart from XP I see little benefit to having a bakery. The profits become a little higher after upgrades and spending millions and millions on research but it would take months of gameplay just to break even.
27k$/h profit is exactly how it looks if you compare the selling price of the ingredients. That's what we mean by profit. The revenue from apple turnover is actually over 50k$/h. Once we subtract ingredient cost, we get around 27$/h profit.
Level 7 bakery without research gives you about $17,000 profit per hour for apple turnovers......that is not "hefty" as stated by mods, in fact its very poor considering the millions that would have to be spent upgrading to that level and then waiting on architect to even be able to bring it to level 7 in the first place. That added to the millions needed to be spent on research makes it even worse and a total fail compared to the money making machine gourmet farm used to be. I just hope they leave Flower Farm alone, losing marzipan ice cream was bad enough.
If they miss their window of opportunity (game is unavailable when they are), 2 hrs won't matter.
Nah, he'll still be the leader, as he'd blame the trainees for his mistakes. ;P Hehehe.
BTW, I appreciate having the double speed construction on all three farms, not just the gourmet farm one.
Will gourmet farm be renamed? It isn't really appropriate any more. What about "Elite Farm"? Goats, donkeys, and ducks are rarer on farms than chickens, pigs, and cows.
Sorry, I just don't have a patience in flash game, I'm here to spend my time and relax, not to work with exel tables 8-12 hours a day and pay money for it.
How about Main Farm Deux? I think it's a really appropriate name.
Alright then, how about MF Deux 247?
Sounds James Bond like ...you know, like, hello, my name is MF, MF Deux 247... :P
Thanks neriux777.
For example our cooperative came in with Level 2 of Donkey research already completed. Level One increases the price for donkeys by 40%; Level 2 increases it by 60% (yet we're still only getting $16 per animal which is a poor return at best - how is a donkey worth less than an egg?) Level 3 which we're aiming for now increases the price by 90% - however it requires 28 researchers which means cooperatives will become very competitive for new members.
Right now we're doing a Fruit Cake research which increases the bakery's yield of fruitcake by 15%. That means more than $37,000 which actually brings it into profitability, even at the current price and also taking into account the costs of producing the ingredients.
I guess the logic behind this is probably to increase the sociability of the game. I was in a cooperative anyway but I'm taking more of an interest in keeping the group active than I was before.
There are still things I don't like about it (new gripe: doesn't make sense to me that upgrading the bakery reduces the amount of ingredients required, rather than increasing yield) but once the bakery price adjustments are implemented I'll be happy enough.
Well yes Jim that "...statement is totally ridiculous.." when quoted out of context of the posts it replies too, which I suspect you either didn't read or didn't comprehend. I'm not actually making any statement other than to point out we are getting the XP twice, so for someone who states "... Personally, I could not care less about xp points. Its just kind of the principle of the thing." what's your problem?????
I had asked: Is 7 days enough for upgrading lvl 6 bakery, 3 lvl 5 almond orchards and 3 lvl 5 gardens, like what we had before?
It seems that we need cherry orchard as well.
I have the answer now: 7 days is not enough for these upgrades.
Not to mention the addition money needed in cooperative research.
I'd say no it should not take much effort to reset a few numbers in a program, but I suspect the team are busy with different games on different days and their time may well be fully allocated, so tweaking those numbers when they are next due to upgrade this game makes sense from a game management point of view.
I had the gourmet farm with everything and at top levels, now I've only 17 hours left of the discounted time frame. And I've just managed to get the only bakery to level 6 keeping up almost all hours to manage to get the max built.
Yes, the time given is not enough to get all the buildings and to the levels that we had before the changes were made.
CGS should have given time based on the level the players are and the buildings were, instead of just giving 1 week to everyone. Now those who were on low levels have managed to catch up to their state before the changes, but some of us will have to spend weeks only to get back to that previous status with all the buildings at the max levels.
On my flower farm today, I started Gift Basket with Pasta. Didn't even think about it being available, or that I still had pasta, as this was the first time I have made this since the revamp. so my questions are:
1. Was this another "oops we screwed up" and you are going to remove this recipe? And pay me for the pasta I have stored?
2. If not, how are we going to make more pasta to keep making this?
I've tried with and without the bakery, with and without the ducks - I'd read all the threads and crunched numbers and just wanted to see what it would feel and be like in actual game-play - and I remain so broke that I can't update a thing either way, both by focussing every dollar on the GF or running it on the side. No upgrades on any of the farms, because I can't even afford the land anymore. Like the quote said, I started spending most time here, then decided to stop that and "play", but came back because it's more boring than the forum even at its most aggravating.
Meh.
*kicks the stupid donkey that's obviously just stuffed anyway and tears down the lovingly painted sign of "Donkey Sanctuary"*
It/you use eggs, you should see that if you click on the blue "i" in your FF info menu.
