I thought about it and now I think I can see what they've done. Eggs from ducks and milk from goats will be functionally the same as from chickens and cows, but there are completely different times and quantities.

Long time high quantity milk: Cow sheds
Short time small quantity milk: Goat sheds

Long time high quantity eggs: Duck coops
Short time small quantity eggs: Chicken coops

And THAT is why they lowered the quantity of eggs from chicken coops - to get the scaling correct.

It's a bit like what they've done with seeds from the nursery, different times depending on your style of play or making things morer flexible for working around what is happening in your REAL life.

This will be great for projects, making them less stressful to achieve.

My question now then is: What does the donkey do?

They must be the piggy equivalent. Medium term dung producers and than sold on the Retirement Home?

I am really sorry for not being able to keep myself from saying this, but I heard that they will be laying eggs ;);)
I see that we get eggs from the donkeys. This should be an interesting twist to the game!

Not true btw, people, before we get a massive confusion by this silly posting habit of mine :D

I did play a now closed game where eggs came from trees and milk from butterflies, so why not?

I am sorry if this question was already asked and answered, I really don't have time to search, so I shall ask, hoping for a quick answer!:D : what happens with almonds that we currently have in-store, will they be sold for us too?

Thanks for the answer everyone! :)

I don't think they will be sold because they will still exist as a product of the revamped farm.

In the in-game information. You will be paid back the building and upgrading costs fully.

The build and upgrade prices for everything have been collected in this spreadsheet.

OK i have a question that i can't find an answer to so far, >>

Where is the apiary? the thing that makes honey? which we will have to use instead of sugar i suppose, but honey is listed as an ingredient needed along with wax.

But when i searched in the building supplies, i can not find the apiary anywhere.

Did GGS forget to include it in the buildings??

    HELP!!

    Thanks.

This was due to an update 03/31/14. Some buildings were removed to make room for new by revising the gourmet farm. Please ensure that you have read this announcement. You will get all Dollars back you spent for these buildings (and their upgrades).

I like mostly everything about it except my main gripe and it's a big one, is "transferring". It's an extra step which is annoying and adds little. If you need us to "transfer" goods then make it quicker and easier to do, from several locations - such as when collecting on the main farm and we are given the option to "sell" to make room in our barn, we should also be able to transfer right then and there.

Nevermind I'm an idiot, I see that you CAN do that very thing. I'll give it a second chance tomorrow and see how I feel about it.

Not really sure I get having a 2nd silo, composter, mill, etc. Doesn't make much sense to me why we'd need 2.

So the goats and cows both just make "milk"? It was better having a separate product "goat's milk". I don't like the same icon and having both products go into the same place. Seems like a step backwards.

the difference is in the amount made and the time - it takes less than an hour to make 45 milks compared to 7 hours so instead of wasting gold to speed up a harvest when you need 100 more milk to finish a project/mission - you can do it on the gourmet farm instead. It opens up the options available to us when we play - the ducks give us eggs also but take longer and give more than the chickens for the same reason.

The bakery is being tweaked to make a profit in an upcoming update.

Presumably, the easiest thing to do would be to put up the selling price of the final product. About 50% more ought to do it. :)

Another answer is to increase the amount of product output at each new level of bakery.

You know this for a fact, or just saying it should be?

As it stands, I can't believe how little thought out this update seems to be. The only thing that's obvious is that it was designed to encourage a considerate amount of gold expenditure. Whereas before there was little incentive to have either a water tower or a workshop on the gourmet farm, now they seem almost required.

Upgrading the bakery from levels 1 through 7 neither increases the yield nor decreases the time required for production. The only benefit is a TINY reduction of ingredients required to produce each good. WHAT IS THE POINT?!?! Who designed, playtested, and approved this update ????

It is for sure - Latten announced it yesterday in the discussion board if you want to go find the post. The balancers were developing a graph or physical representation for us to show their reasoning and realized that they had goofed so they are now tweaking the numbers and will release them probably in an update next week.

    Yeah, about that graph :D

So I have good and bad news! The bad news is there won't be a graph today.

The good news though is, due to our balancers making that graph, they kinda realized you guys were right in some points, so we will now rework some of the output you'll get from the bakery :) We won't add huge numbers here, of course, but it will be a lot more reasonable even for earlier levels than it is right now.

So, no graph for now, but a YES for both us working on the money you'll get from the bakery and added XP, also for bakery productions.

    I'd say that's a good tradeoff!
So yes, being worked on but doesn't actually say it will be in the next update

My problem is I have surplus workers (excessive) because there are not as many required for the production facilities. Do I have to demolish houses to make the room for the new facilities? Is anyone else experiencing this problem?

Can somebody help me with those donkeys? I have 3 level 2 feelds and a level 2 mill. Right now I have to grow barley on 3 feelds all the time just to produce enough food to feed 1 donkey. So I haven't bild that stable. There would be no time to do anything else. Does it get better when aou upgrade mill or feelds? I like the donkeys for the poo, but this is too much.

If you click the blue "i" on either the ring menu or the construction menu and look at the production info tab, you can see that information for yourself. I think it was at level 3 fields when barley production jumps, but I just logged out of my farms so I can't check right now. I looked at how long it takes the donkeys and donkey feed, and demolished mine this morning; I think goats will be more effective for me.

I'm wondering if the team even playtested this update at all. Seems to me all the meetings they had about this centered on how to get us to spend more gold. If they had one person working there who played this from the perspective of "is this fun?" then this update would have been vastly different.
