saving collectables

suggestion: warning sign once you reach the wright amount of collectables.

I'm one of the few members of my coop that is saving for the bigger amount of collectables needed for some of the projects. Now I have to check my inventory daily to see if I have enough (for example) flies. It would be very nice if there was an option (next to the button deliver the flies or the button to buy them with gold once you open the projectinformation) to save for particulair collectionitems. Once you've gained the wright amount of flies, then there could pop up a warning sign on the inventorybox.
Next to that it would be great if all the coopmembers could see who is saving for what and how many collectables all the other members have by checking this button.
No more exchanging information bij email and so on. And you'll get a warning once you have enough collectables.

What is so wrong with how it currently is? I like how you have to communicate with your co-op members. Are you one of your few co-op members who tries to avoid interaction at all costs? Its a co-op, and members should actively participate in chat and communicate which collection items they have. Cooperative, remember? Once you have enough collection items, the project will highlight the items in green and that tells you that you have accumulated enough of them to contribute, so a warning is not necessary at all. If you hover your mouse over the amount of collection items needed, It will pop a box up telling you how many you have out of the total amount needed. I would suggest better communication within your co-op, and yall might find yourselves in a better gaming experience. You have a decent idea, but the amount of collection items needed is changed all the time, so setting a warning system on the inventory would be too difficult, especially because the game does not know which collection items you are saving and for which project they will be used for. Just keep an eye on your inventory and build communication within your co-op.

Every cooperative runs differently Goodfella so it's not really a good idea to apply the same standards to every coop. :)

MaschaC, I really like the idea of being able to see how many collectables other members of my cooperative have.

Not a good idea? You got it all wrong, Kat... It's a great suggestion. That's what this is all about, right? I simply made a suggestion to that player. She made a suggestion up there about some sort of warning that is needed. She also included other information that led me to my suggestion to her. All that player needs is some good suggestions/advise to better her gaming experience. I gave my suggestion to her, and you come in here and give the ol... "Yes maam... mmmm hmmm. Yup." That will really help her, right? Nah. The second half of my first post explained to her that there is already a function in the game that informs you of when you have the needed collection items. If you don't have enough... It will let you know how many more you need with a simple mouse hover. The idea of a co-op is to work together, and a good part of that is solid communication.

Lets pretend for a moment that members of a co-op could pool together collection items for projects. Then it would be nice to have a counter that tells members how many items the co-op has as an entire collection. Like right now the co-op I am in is doing an apple collection project. There is a counter that tells us we have collected X amount of apples. If we were to be able to pool up collection items, a counter for each item in the inventory would work. Like .... 340/4200 I have 340 of a certain item, and the co-op as a whole has 4200... right? That's not how it is, tho.

Co-ops by definition need to work together and you should encourage that rather than downplay it when addressing a player who needs some solid advice.

Now it's your turn to criticize.

I'm not criticizing at all Goodfella, just gently pointing out that everyone plays the game differently. That being said, your posts have a tendency towards criticizing the member as well as the suggestion so it might be an idea to hold back on the member bit please. :)

Hmmm... the problem with that is that you also have to 'tell' that sign for what project you're saving up. I do like the suggestion though.

    Hi Goodfella,
I know how to play the game and I know all functions that come along with it, I don't need your advice on this. That you don't see the benefit of my suggestion, doesn't mean that I don't understand the game. I'm at level 94 now, so I think I got it. Our coop is a coop that is very active on the chat. And works great together, there is very good communication. We are #11 on the list of NL 1, while our coop is much smaller then all the others that high on the ranking list.
I've been reading a lot of comment and suggestions from other players about this subject. There are coops that email each other every day, or use spreadsheets, etc to inform each other about the amount of collection items they have. This way that would become much easier. It would not mean less interaction or less working together to achive the amounts of collection items and to run the projects.

You say: setting a warning system on the inventory would be too difficult, especially because the game does not know which collection items you are saving and for which project they will be used for.

That's exactly the point I'm trying to make. With this new function you could 'let the game know' which collection items you're saving and for which project. I don't know if it's difficult to make or not.

    Dear Kat,
Thank you for your respons. I find the tone of the message from Goodfella a bit patronizing. But I can understand his point of view.
