"Beginner" is your forum title and is dependant on the number of post you have made, not your level in the game. Next stage up is "Student"

And you can edit it to say whatever you like. Mine says "Banarach", which means Farmer

The deco you get in an Event is level based though

    16/18 to 25
    42 and under
    54 and under
    55 and over

Hi, Mick! Like you, I was bothered by being termed a beginner when I felt like a battle scarred veteran. To change that you need to go to Personal Messages, then Edit Profile. You can then put in a custom user title of your choice.
    Hope that helps. Later!

I have tried to do this several times, but there is no option like that on the edit profile page. I'm wondering if something changed with the forum update? Any ideas? Maybe I have to reach a certain number of posts first?

I tried to do that just now. I didn't see anywhere to do that. Are you sure it is still there? I found where it says beginner, but it wont let me change it.

I'm able to change mine, but it could be because I'm in a different user group. I'll leave a message with the CM's about this.

I cannot even find where to change it any more. Where did it use to be before the update again? Well anyway, I clicked many buttons, but none of them showed what I had expected it to show :( Thanks for forwarding, Kat :)

I just looked, too. It's GONE! Must have been the update. Sure hope they put it back. :)

Looks like it's gone. It used to be in the first edit profile profile page.

I'll check with the team :) It may very well be this was changed during the update.

Checked: The option was indeed removed for the update, since we're planning on giving out funny, important and helpful user titles in the future through contests, or for generally helpful people and so on.

So yeah, there's that for now :)

Who determines funniness, importance and helpfulness? Are there any examples of these titles that you have in mind?

Do you consider a Level 73 player a Beginner? That was the level of the player who started this thread. He was wondering how long before he was no longer considered one. And what of those like myself and many others who have already used the Custom User Title function to choose titles for ourselves? Will we now be stripped of them because you deem us unworthy of them? You now want to bestow titles as a type of reward. I don't think that's going to work as well as letting players choose their own titles. You give your dog a name, not your customer. Oops, sorry, but I get a little hostile when I know I'm right. So I implore you to please reconsider your decision and reinstate the Custom User Title function. Thank You. :)

You know they won't reconsider, but you are right. And you might get lucky in that you're at least stuck with "dreamer" now, better than whatever comes next.

I've also noticed that quite a few players in the Forum have used the Custom User Title to display their farm level. It's obviously a source of pride for them and now that has been taken away. And now they can't change it and are "stuck" with their last change of level. Bummer.

I cannot really read from your posts whether you understand the automatically changing statuses now, John... So I am going to post this anyway. If you already understood consider this not written ^^ The titles on the forum are about how often you have posted. Snork is a beginner because he has 122 posts. I am a professional because I have more than 3000 posts. I think student comes after beginner and then maybe something else, then advanced and then professional.

It does seem like it has something to do with your farm level, but it has nothing to do with it really. I don't know what GGS is up to, but I am hesitantly looking forward to it XD

What John is talking about is the ability to go in and change it to something custom - like his dreamer and my casual farmer. There are others who have changed it to state what level they were currently on. When they updated the forum, they removed this option so players are stuck with whatever they had changed it to before the update.

Larino, I do understand that the user title was originally intended to reflect the number of posts made by that individual. But it's taken on a different meaning to players who found themselves with the ability to change it and express themselves creatively. Just as you take pride in the title of Professional (well earned, I might add), so do those who have chosen titles for themselves.

I guess that will be OK...to let someone choose my name........again. Since I had no say when Mom and Dad named me I learned to live with it. ;)

Yes I know that and that is why I also said if you already did understand, consider it not written. I thought he knew, but sometimes I doubted XD Anyway - now anybody that did still wonder knows as well :P And I do know they took the option to change it away and stuff and understood some players changed it to their farm levels instead of the automatic forum number of posts status.

Edit: I used to have Leader of co-op Larino before I changed it back to the automatic status ;)

Luckily I got my title just the way I like it :) But I am anxious to see what GGS gives us :)

Oh and if you're wondering about my title it's because I play a lot (a lot) of video games and I'm second in command in my friends platoon (which now has over 50 people :D)
  • edited 12.04.2014
Well I am a little upset that I can't chose what my title is now. More upset that it says I am at Level 80 when I am at Level 85 now.

But anyway, I thought I would ask, Latten do you think I could get a title that says Super Farmer, cuz I have a real thing with Super Heroes. (More like an obsession). But what do you think??? Because it would make me very happy...

mick63, I have been wondering/wandering around  about the same thing since becoming a farmer a month ago.

oh booo... I just read Lattens reply. And here I thought I would be the 'OPUS wrangler Extraodinaire'. :whistling:

Here here farmerjohn 22 I agree with posts #20(wholeheartedly, 22(OPUS says snerk),& 25(again OPUS wrangler wanna be here)

Sp ce, do you think if we beg Latten everyday he would be able to get a change in? We should set up a begging forum for that?

Again....getting down from my soap-box, OPUS dragging his tattered megaphone behind...

Hi Larino, I sent you a message last week asking about this, but I just found this thread. So yeah, guess I got my answer for now. Thx

    Cheers and Happy Harvests
