How many workers does it take?

UserDIgger2UserDIgger2 Posts: 62
To bulldoze the blue house. NOT worth the space it's taking. NOT worth paying to upgrade it. But every time I go to bulldoze, I get a "you don't have enough workers."
Well how many workers does it take? The thing doesn't say?

I want it gone. A plain house upgraded all the way is a better option.

Level 1 Blue Houses provide 12 workers and then 5 more per level. You can always check the blue i for this sort of information

So check the level of your Blue Houses and then make sure you have that number not assigned (ie free) before you try to demolish it

And before you do demolish, remember that red houses will cause much more un Happiness per worker, so for the same number of workers and the same Happiness you will need more decorations. If you do buy gold decs you might find it is worth spending the gold on the blue houses rather than the decs which will take up space

As Samty said, you can check this by clicking on the i. To do this, you click on the house, then at the approximate 10 o'clock position you will see a blue i. You will see the number of workers the house holds. It also shows the effect to happiness.

A level two house has a happiness impact of -45 (17 people). A regular house has a happiness impact of -62 (15 people). So, you would basically need a vegetable garden to offset the happiness impact.

But, I see your point. In the long run, to me, it may be worth the happiness, ie decoration cost, to avoid the cost of upgrades to the house.

Upgrading from a level 2 to level 3 "blue house" cost about $4,400 or $4,500. A blue tractor (happiness +70) is $5,500.

Interesting thought... Thanks for the post

A plain house upgraded all the way is a better option.

Well, it is, and it isn't. Read this thread carefully, especially this post. Red houses are not better than level 1 blue houses until they're upgraded all the way to level 5 (Architect level) and you have a bunch of +74 event decos. If you meet those criteria, fine, but many people won't; it is not a one-size-fits-all solution.

Ok, I see. Duh, need as many workers as dozing the house will remove. Makes sense.

I have already, several times now got happiness up to and beyond 100. I'm not worried. The extra space a plain upgraded building will free up will make room for an event prize. And since I have no plans of upgrading the basic blue house, it really needs to go.

    Thanks for the help.
