Uses for Event Seeds?

What use (other than sale for dollars) are the event seeds such as sunflowers, roses, rapaseed, hibiscus, etc.?

You receive XP for planting them as well as the high dollar amount you get when you sell them. :)

They also usually yield higher numbers of event collectibles than normal crops. For instance, rapaseed usually gives 15 UFO parts when you find them, whereas corn usually gives 2, cabbage 5, and so on.

Just to add what kat has said. If you plant the event seeds during an event, you get more collections from them. So if you plant roses during the find ufo parts in the event you get 14 ufo pieces per field.

Is there a cost charged in gold for planting hibiscus seeds that you already have in your inventory? Is there a gold charge for sowing rice, rose, sunflower, rapaseed & other special seeds which you have in your inventory. If so, why charge gold & not farm dollars?

No gold cost when you have them in inventory to plant - but they do show up in your inventory even if you don't have any available so you can buy them for gold to plant . . . so read it very carefully to make sure you have seeds in inventory and you are not buying the seeds.

For instance, right now the yellow hibiscus seeds would cost me 90 gold per field to plant since I no longer have any in inventory. The button in inventory says 90 gold per unit.

Thank you both. That's what I thought but I saw a post that said there was a gold charge.

For planting them when you do not have any seeds (won in the event) in your inventory, yes, then that post you read is correct. If you have, say, 5 seeds, you can plant them without paying any extra costs. If you want to plant 6, then the 6th seed will cost gold.
