Hello folks! Long time reader, first time thread starter here.

I saw this mentioned in another thread long ago, but couldn't find the thread anymore so my apologies for posting a new one.

My problem is as follows: I've played since somewhere around late summer last year, I'm closing in on level 60 and so on. Me and my fiancé live together, and he's seen me play and would like to try the game out.
We aren't sure if he'll stay or like it but he can't know if he doesn't try. We're scared of opening him an account though because of the rule that states a person can only have one account.

See, we share the same internet connection and even if our IPs are slightly different some services might see us as the "same person".

Should I post a ticket to support, letting them know and telling them what address my fiancé wants to use, or will they require something as drastic as scans of our ID cards...? ^-^''
There is of course no such thing as playing on each others' accounts, we'd both feel like cheaters for doing something like that - in fact I belong to that kind of person that doesn't even want to know their spouse's game passwords etc. because it's against the ToS in most games. =)

Sorry for the long post, I tend to elaborate too much out of worry of being misunderstood, and thanks for reading! ^-^

You do need to send in a ticket to support telling them you play on the same IP but are 2 different persons. I do not know what they will ask for though. I have read somewhere they did ask for an ID copy - which is legally not allowed but happens way too often by various companies. Maybe they will just ask for the 2 e-mail addresses. I never did it myself - so I would not know.

If I were you I would just send in a ticket and see what they will say about it. At least they will know you are not multi-accounting and the worst that can happen is that they ask for information you do not want to provide. Then simply do not give the information - tell them you do not appreciate them asking and close one of the accounts.

In that case you could choose to let your fiance play on a different server. You would not be able to join the same co-op but can at least both have a farm and enjoy the game. And even advise each other about a co-op.

    Good luck!

Usually (which is not a guarantee and might depend on the case at hand) we won't ask for any documents, if you're the one asking for permission of family play :) If you run into any difficulties, send me a quick PM and I'll see if I can help.

    Have fun,
    Timo

Seriously? In today's day and age where many of us have cable Internet service where the IP does not change, we have to contact you to allow family members to play legitimately? Am I understanding that correctly?

My IP has multiple people on it.
My mother, who introduced me to the game, has multiple people on her IP.
My friend, who also plays, has multiple FAMILIES on the same IP (big, shared house).
This is not such an unusual occurrence.

And unfortunately it is not an unusual occurrence that all those accounts get banned because they are thought to be multi-accounting :( The rules state you may not have multiple accounts. Several accounts on 1 IP seems like multiple accounts. Therefore support needs to know you are different persons so they will not ban you when they find multiple accounts on the same IP. Imo the system is not waterproof - but who am I to say anything about GGS' rules and doubt them once again? :)

Rie, you can have as many farms as you wish as long as you only have 1 farm on each server. Each of those farms can be in cooperatives too if you feel you can keep up with it all. :)

Please contact support with this issue and maybe you can ask them to move the bought gold to a new farm on a different server. You cannot move the entire farm to a new server and you will have to close it to not get both farms banned. To do that you will also need to contact support:

As an update if anyone else is wondering the same - they only asked me to state the account names (meaning the in-game nickname), the e-mails used to create them, our first and last names and how do we know each other and that was enough. ^-^

Thanks again for the advice, everyone here are so friendly and kind as always! (:
