Well for one I guess you'll hopefully be very happy if our fix for the messaging bug actually works :) Next week we'll have a major content update again, so even if there's not much for some players this time around, the next update should be a bit more exciting for everyone ;)

So, Nothing for high level non-gold players except for some vague promise of the messaging system being fixed with the next update.
Bit disappointing, since the game is becoming a bit boring. I was really looking forward to something new. :-((

You could always just go into the hibernation chamber for a week and come out in time for the next update?

The good thing about this update is that there doesn't appear to be anything startling in it, i.e. it doesn't appear to increase the gap between golders and non-golders by any appreciable amount.
There isn't any "Blue Barn"-like thing in it thankfully.

Encouraging players to spend gold now - it's still all about the money.

I'm a bit disappointed now. Was really looking forward to this year's updates just to found out first two are only for gold players. I understand you got to make money to keep this game running for the rest of us but it would be fair after last week's prime day to have something for non-gold players this week and not another prime day. :(

Yes, quite disappointing. I am a gold buyer myself, & it seems as though all this update is about, is getting more usage of that gold, so you have to buy more sooner. We been waiting all this time, since the end of last year pretty much, & this is all we get... Spend more gold, & promises of more broken stuff to come... :(

So what happens to the people who upgraded their dog to the max right now? How much do the other levels cost in gold? Did level 6 and 7 gold prices change? Does my level 7 dog automatically go to 10 or do I have to spend 10 million in gold first?

The comments nothing for non Gold players,Well what do you want?
I am a Non Gold player and at the moment i dont need the 2nd or 3rd Farm updates,But hope they come soon for other players,The Gold players with fully build Farm need something to do.
Some people think that a Real Non Gold Buyers has millions sitting around,Well that is not the case,We have to work for our money,And some levels cost 3 to 7 million to upgrade to level 3-5.ie Apiary, olives and citrus. Our money doesnt grow on Trees lol.GGS keep up the good work.

The dog starts at level 7 instead of level 10 ie playing levels,Not doghouse levels.
The doghouse stays the same only 7 levels.

Yeah. I hope there will eventually be something interesting to come for someone who has no tasks left except the neverending triple on main farm.

I don't think I qualify as gold player, although I have bought it once or twice. I could buy it in the future - BUT: I definitely won't buy gold while wondering whether to give this game a little bit more time, or to quit now.

mm.. what can i say about new update. well only comment i can make is to ask that ggs please think about those who make choice not to buy gold or more to point those who just cant due to personal finances. i would hate to see those who played loyal become disheartened and feel they not equally catered for and start considering leaving this fun and good game. they deserve to be treated with just as well with updates , that improvement gamming opportunities as the gold buyers have been getting .. just my personal thoughts on the matter....still loving the game

i'm a non gold player and don't have a problem with gold players , but lately it's all thats matters spending gold. No new updates that makes the game more fun. I'm a high level player and waiting for the 4th farm. I still have a lot of work to do on my other farm. But i get bored . I was really expecting something fun for 2014. And nothing happens ....
If i was a gold player i would really feel riped off

That's what I feel, too, blablabla - "ooh, a cool prime day, maybe I should buy some gold?" and then "um, what, did I really consider spending money on a game I may not be playing in two weeks from now??". If I bought gold I would feel ripped off indeed.

(Sorry, Undertaker, I don't celebrate Groundhog Day so I don't know what that is.)

Starting rumors of the game closing down? sigh.

I am glad they have an update for the people that pay money to buy gold. Thank you GGS. When my finances get a little more secure, I think I would like to invest in some books, but i don't think i will be buying enough to take advantage of this particular incentive. There are a ton of primetimes now--hard to decide which one!

Who's starting rumors about the game closing down? All I see is some disappointed players who say they may consider leaving the game if there are better updates soon.

I was a bit disappointed with this update too because I was expecting it to be something exciting not just another choice for buying gold. I have bought gold but I prefer the 50% or 100% bonuses myself. I'm glad there are different choices since we're all different & prefer different things but lately it seems like everything we get involves gold. I do hope we start getting some of the "new & exciting" stuff soon though.

Hang in there farmers! Its still January & we were promised new stuff for the farms in "the year 2014" not necessarily this month. :)

Actually no I didn't miss it. farmerkit talked about deciding whether to quit the game or give it more time in post #14. I'm assuming talking about possibly not playing the game in 2 weeks in post #20 relates to his/her previous post. If I am wrong farmerkit can correct me :)

For the record: I'm not arguing but we can all discuss things here and there will always be disagreements.

    ok understood. ;)

I am excited about this update, even though it is one I probably won't be able to take advantage of. The glass is always half full for me :) Keep the updates rolling out :D

I find it telling that even the gold users are interested in having updates that will benefit everyone. The update isn't too exciting for me because I'm not going to really be able to benefit from it, but maybe changes to the mail system will help actually FIX the mail system... (yeah that's my attempt at optimism!)

I can't see what the problem is really - when I started playing this game I made a decision I would not BUY any gold. I don't need to because I EARN gold, and I can and do MINE for gold. I bought a few things for gold in the first few days of my farm, before I got the hang of it and realised it was best to hang on to them and build them up. I don't live beyond my means in my life, and I don't farm beyond my means in the game. It's like hankering for things you can't afford then whinging because you don't have them. Grow up, it's an attitude.

Groundhog Day is a movie starring Bill Murray, whereby he has to cover a news event (he's a television reporter) about a day celebrated every year in some town that has a groundhog (animal) that supposedly predicts when the first snow will fall or something like that from memory. He ends up in a time loop and relives the day over and over and over again.

I was referring to this in reference to your earlier post saying that you have only the neverending triple tasks on the main farm now.

I am so sorry you cannot see the problem. But just because you cannot see it, that doesn't give you many brownie points to be so holier than thou. You grow up yourself, and then you will not need to advise others to grow up.
