    Dear Latten,
Is there any news about that ? I think it would be a great New Year Gift for the player to introduce this "undo" option....
Thx for keeping us up to date.

BUT we're thinking about a way to "undo" accidental gold expenses (because no, we actually don't want to trick you into spending gold you don't want to spend ^^), it might take a few updates until we have something usable and final though.

This thread was started long time ago, and GGS still has no solution. I think you are great with introducing so many fine updates, but you can`t solve this simple problem that can be viewed as a scam. Stop sweeping thing under the rug and dignify us with a response. Thank you in advance.

that is the reason i no longer by gold.. havent for over 6 months....i was moving things around on the game and while rotating a building it fast forwarded and lost a lot of gold...other times when the game was sooooo slow i clicked on cow shed and didnt upgrade so i clicked back on it again and it was fast forwarded with gold......

i would buy gold if it was not so easy to lose on stuff....if there was on off switch or an are u shure u want to use gold swith like there is are u certain u want to demolish button would be fantastic

there is no way an 'undo button' would work. That would be a super pain to implement. Doing a rollback on the DB would be .. well a LOT of work and really isn't likely (IMHO) .. But a config setting for 'spend gold confirmation' On/OFF (default to ON) would seem to be not that hard. Extra dialog for gold spend can't be that hard.. and turning it on or off via config pretty easy.. Till then, like you I'm not buying any gold. I lost at least 3000 by clicking wrong

    Admins....

I swore up and down when I first tried this game I would not spend real money on it.
Well... you all won. I'm an addict. I have three farms, joined two wonderful coops, started a third and all are doing well.

I have spent gold on all three farms. And I would not mind at all when I have a few extra bucks charging up my gold stash so when it's needed, it would be there.
Your current offer of adding gold to the coop too is great. I'd LOVE to take you up on that three times.

    However!!!!!!
There are FAIR too many little sneaky traps in this game to part people with their gold usually by accident.

    ie;

When I was new here, I planted a whole bunch of special seeds before I realized I wiped out my gold doing that. I've since been more careful.
Until this event. When I brain farted that idea that those cost money and planted about six fields of the darn beans only to realize, too late, that I just blew 100 in gold for each one.

Not long before that I was updating a house. Totally by accident I clicked my mouse too close to the little window and BOOM. Gold blown to upgrade a stupid house. NOT what I intended to do at all. And it's gone. Poof gone.

Right in these forums have been many complaints about how easy it is to accidently piss away gold. Until this is dealt with, I will NOT be buying any more than I may need immediately. And then only as much as needed. Nothing more.

    Now...
It's not far to complain and not offer an idea. So here goes. This should not be that difficult to do.

Put a little lock on the gold icon right up on top. Locking your gold. So IF someone goes to do something that will use gold, a prompt will appear saying you need to first unlock your gold to do this....

Problem solved. I'd be happy to charge up all three of my farms if I knew it couldn't be accidently blown.

I'd bet I'm not alone on this point.

Perhaps some future update? At least consider it.
    Thank you.

There really should be a lock on our gold, I was wandering around my farm and I don't know what happened, but I clicked on the nursery and the next time I clicked was on upgrade button, and I lost my gold. I never wanted to upgrade my nursery, since the performance of it was good enough. It would be great if we could manage our gold the way we want it to be managed.

This is the best suggestion I have read in this forum. I bet everyone has spent gold without meaning to. You have 6,000 gold, tickling the dog, click click, oh no, 50 gold now.

Please consider putting a lock on the gold, so you have to agree to spend it.

    Great idea!
Please do something about the gold. Or at least put a simple question: "Do you really want to spend ... gold, to do this action?"

Love this idea! Everyone would benefit if gold spending had a double check on it.

I absolutely agree - there needs to be some sort of warning or extra step before gold is spent to help protect accidental expenditure. It would be a simple enough thing to implement. I only ever bought gold once and then accidentally spent over half upgrading a building. I never spent real money again as I thought it would be a waste. I might actually spend money on gold if some sort of warning or lock were in place.

Yes it is a great Idea.

However, what about the missions and the gold users. They would not be impressed if they had to unlock the gold for EVERY gold use. And before you shoot me down, it is not cheating to use gold in the missions, so yes the gold users need to be considered too.

So you could have a lock on the gold that you unlocked to use the gold and then had to manually relock it rather than a unlock for every gold use.

Either way I will pass on the suggestion. :)

Why not make it an option? You can have it off completely (for gold users), or have it give you a reminder before you spend gold each time?

This is probably something we won't do, since we would actively stop our players from spending money in general - which would be a pretty weird decision for a company :) I see your point of course, when it comes to accidental spending, and we are still looking into this, but a general lock function for the gold is something where I'm pretty sure I can say "no, won't happen".

you could have a little lock icon next to the gold indicator that could click to toggle on or off

    Hi Latten,

I understand that you want to make money, and I don't mind spending it, but not if it is going to be wasted.

The question is, do you want to be seen as a games company that tricks people into having to spend money, or one that allows people to make informed choices about how they spend their money.

If the game is good enough then people will choose to spend their money on it. This is a simple change to the interface to prevent people from accidentally spending gold. I can't see how it would deter people from spending money. In fact more people would probably buy gold if they knew they could safeguard it from accidental spending. It is far too easy to do, especially if you are playing on a laptop without touch pad instead of a mouse.

If you are concerned that it will have an negative impact on those who spend a lot of money then why don't you ask them? You know who they are. If your percentages of heavy gold purchasers are anything like other free to play online and social media games then they make up about 10% of your users overall. How empty would your servers look if all of us who can't afford to spend a lot of money on the game weren't there?

It is way too easy to accidentally waste gold when we don't want to :( Every other game I have ever played has a simple confirm button to make sure you meant to buy that thing you just clicked on ! It should be an easy fix and you guys are obviously losing customers because of this...If that doesn't matter ok then ?(

Listen, and please do take this to the company.
The ease at which people can accidently lose money HAS ALREADY COSTED YOU!!!! At least as far as this customer is concerned.
When your last deal came along offering to contribute gold to any coops if you buy gold, I WOULD HAVE loved to stock up ALL THREE of my farms with a few thousand gold.
    But I wont.
As long as there are a dozen or more ways to click the wrong place, or replant a field with special seeds that I am out of, or accidently upgrade something not meaning to...
Not going to happen. So this has already costed.....

Now maybe you misunderstood my proposal?
I am NOT suggesting a pop up appear each and every time someone tries to spend gold.
Just ONE lock. And by default that can be left UNlocked.
So the game will function just as it is now.

UNLESS.... a player CHOOSES to lock up their gold so it would be impossible to spend it without a simple prompt saying before you can do..... you must unlock your gold.

I can see why a player might want to leave it unlocked.
    Missions for example.
I have already spent gold trying to keep up. Harvest faster to end up in a top spot. So I have already reached for my pay pal card to do this. It would be nice to have a little here, that I could unlock and use without an idiot screen asking me each and every time "are you sure?"

    BUT....
When I'm just playing, and do not want to waste it on a stupid misplaced mouse click, I could click a single little padlock icon and only then would get a warning to unlock gold before it can be spent.

THIS WOULD MAKE YOU MONEY not lose it. I'd be much more inclined to charge up my farms so when it's needed, it would be there. And if a little bit is here, easy to use, Id' be far more likely to spend more than I do.

Right now? No way. If some item comes along I really want to buy, I'll buy only what I have to in order to get it.
    Can't lose what I don't deposit.
Then again, if something comes along that isn't really all that big on my try it list, I let it go. Not worth the trouble to get my card, go through the whole process of charging something, yada yada.

So please rethink this. Judging from the replies so far, it's something most people would applaud.
In fact, I don't see anyone saying no, bad idea here.

Don't you do any sort of beta testing? Try a small sampling of volunteer users and give it a try.

I wholeheartedly agree with you, Artmaker. And I will also add that I simply refuse to buy gold if this accidental spending issue is not fixed. Yes, I would like to upgrade my watertower, I would want to buy some of those cool new books. But I won't be risking my actual money on it. There's way too many ways to lose it on something you never wanted, I've already had it happen to me with free gold and that was bad enough. If that happens with gold I spent actual money on, that equals to stealing in my book. And I am not going to help people steal from me.

So Latten, your argument is pretty ridiculous, you might want to think that through one more time. You don't stop people from spending money, you allow them to spend it on something they WANT to spend it on. In the end it's a win-win for everyone, including your company.

For every one person who expresses his or her opinion on this forum, there are many more who agree with them but for one reason or another don't express their opinion here. No one likes to lose gold on frivolous things (except for some of the kids that play this game and even a lot of them appreciate the value of their money as they are spending allowances they have worked for on gold here). Accidental clicking of a button that wasn't there a split second ago or is just a bee's old fellow away from the button you really meant to click really does detract from the enjoyment of the game. As people play games for enjoyment, guess what a percentage of players will do when they lose gold? Vote with their feet and walk away...

What about a personal bank on our farms or in the village - that way we can deposit farm cash and gold in there to save (just like savings in real life) there doesn't have to be an interest rate to hold it - but it would help players to deposit money to save for those large upgrades and you would have to wait a certain amount of time for the cash or gold to be able to be used. You could even put different levels on the bank with different levels of how much you can put in there and if you buy certain levels with gold you can earn a small percentage on your farm cash and decrease the wait time for your money.
This way your cash and gold will be safe to save for those items you really want - it is also true to real life where many people have a separate savings account to their normal account.

Artmaker, thats a very very good idea! And your arguments for it are so good! Specially that people accidentally wasting gold are NOT inclined to buy more in the future - they tend to NOT buy more! Latten, sorry but i dont understand why you dont get that.
Theres been overwhelming lots of complaints about this issue, and this is the best suggestion ive seen yet to solve that. Lately ive hold back on the goldbuying because the game is getting more and more gold focused, and that takes a bit of the relaxed fun out of it. This idea with one tiny lock - are you a gold user right now or are you not - would probably make me buy more gold again.

I have to agree with the gold lock request. I have had people in our coop upgrade the gold mine by accident and that is not a small woops you know. thats a drastic oops. I accidentally upgraded my water tower at 7k gold pieces and wanted to cry. 19k gold pieces and someone in the coop i lead won't buy gold again and i don't blame them. They won't buy any of those waste of gold mine certificates after that all too easy accidental upgrade. They aren't the only one's to do the mining upgrade unintentionally. I have done several accidental upgrades with gold and pushed fields and the like accidentally and i cannot tell you how many people i have heard this request from. You all have put the option for "are you sure you want to sell" in there. Make us happy and put "are you sure you want to upgrade" in there too. We who buy gold deserve that!

So far I don't see anyone saying this is a bad idea. Not one. In fact, the ONLY post saying it is anything but a good idea comes from a forum admin. Who we can all assume has some connection with the higher ups?

Listen, I cannot stress this enough. I will NOT be putting gold into this game unless I specifically want to buy something. And then only enough to get it. Nothing more. I would put in more IF I could be sure it will only get spent where I want it to.

Admins, please send this upstairs. Seems it's a popular enough request. And since it involves real money I would think this is far more important than some request for a game graphic or some such thing.

At least give it a try and see. Either with a beta test group or game wide for a set period of time.
If tricking people out of their money with mistakes is really more profitable for you then fine. Remove the lock. But if not..... if it puts enough trust in the players to stock pile a bit of gold so when it's needed it's there, it would only be good for you and everyone else.

In response to Latten, why not have an option, well, under the options button so people can click a little check box asking if they want to be asked everytime they use gold. That way it won't interfere with people who actively use gold, and the people who don't use gold and don't want to waste gold have a choice. It's been done in other games, why not here?

I am looking for a thread which tells when the 50% deal comes on as ive been waiting for days now
or is it just random ?

this was posted by " ARTMAKER".....

"""I swore up and down when I first tried this game I would not spend real money on it.

I thought the GG rule was that only one farm was permitted per player

I guess that answers my question why so many players i noticed have 3 or more farms , like the top 3 in the rankings. Now no one will be able to get above 4th place in the rankings as that one player keeps her 3 farms at the top
