1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 tbsp of honey
1 handful of fresh herbs (I like parsley, chives, rosemary and thyme),
1 pound of raw chicken (boneless is best)
1 large fresh lime, in thin slices with juice
1 tbsp smoked paprika
Take off the bigger stems from the herbs, they often taste bitter and strong. Put the veg oil, honey and herbs in a blender and chop fine. Pour this mixture into a ziploc bag and then add the paprika, lime with the lime juice. Mix up the bag a little and then add the chicken to marinade. After all the chicken looks well coated, put it back in the refridgerator for about 1-3 hours. The grill should be very hot when the chicken is put on it and use the remaining marinade to brush on as they cook, but don't add any during the last 3 minutes of cooking.
Sidenote: We like this recipe to take first night of camping. All the prep work is done at home and left to sit in the cooler as we travel to the campground. By the time the tent is up, Jeff has the grill started and we sit for dinner by the river and even Nathan likes it. We like it with parsley potatoes, and greenbeans from the garden.
~Bliss and peace with homemade dinner~
forgot to explain my pics:
--this year was awesome year in the garden;) Almost everyday I could fill that plastic bowl with green beans. And the leafy veg right next is smooth parsley. The red onion is the biggest EVER from my garden Yum
--the tent and truck are at one of our favorite camp spots--on the other side of the tent is the river.
--the sunset pic is from an earlier camping trip--we went to the Outer Banks and Nathan got to swim in the ocean. If we drove straight from Ohio to the ocean, it is about 18 +hours, so it was a 'once in a lifetime' kind of trip, but we would love to go back
I took my pics out til some people are not allowed to post anymore.

Featuring ingredients from your own farm! In a real recipe! (The ones you can get from your farm--in some variant--are in bold.)
I don't have a perfect recipe for it because I just watched the corn vendor people do it in Mexico and then learned the recipe, so the quantities are kind of rough, and you can change the recipe if you want.
Ingredients:
You basically get some ears of corn and take all the husks/silk off them. I like to chop mine in half and put skewers/chopsticks in one end like corn lollipops (that's how I ate them in Mexico because it's a street food, but I guess you can do them as whole corn on the cob too).
Rub oil on the corn and then throw it on the grill (or grill pan or skillet or whatever). You want to char the corn, so just keep it on the grill and keep turning it. I think this normally takes about 15-20 mins. This is also why the little sticks are useful!
(If you are lazy, you can also pre-cook the corn before you do this, but then be VERY careful when you char the corn because sometimes the kernels will overcook and explode. Isn't food more exciting with an element of danger? :P)
While you are doing this, mix the crema, chili powder, garlic powder and pepper together in a bowl. Shred/crumble the cheese and spread it out on a plate.
When the corn is done, coat the corn in the crema mixture (I usually do this by just dipping the corn into the bowl and then spreading the mixture on the corn with a spoon). Then roll it on the cheese plate until the cheese sticks to the crema. Then sprinkle a bit more chili powder on top. Squeeze the lime onto it right before you eat it!
Easy peasy!
150g unsalted butter with
300g unrefined sugar
75g cocoa powder, sifted
150g plain flour
1 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
pinch of salt
4 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
approx 150g dark chocolate, chopped into small chunks
Preheat the oven to 190C.
Melt the butter, add the sugar,
Sift cocoa powder, flour, bicarb, salt and stir into butter and sugar mix.
Whisk eggs with the vanilla extract in a jug and add to the cooled brownie mixture.
Stir in the chopped chocolate and pour into a baking tin. Bake for 20-25 minutes until it is set, dry on top, but when you put a knife in it is still gooey.
Cool and cut into pieces.
Enjoy!
Susan's Fool's Toffee
Pam Cooking Spray
Original Saltine crackers
1 C. butter
1 C. brown sugar
1 bag Hershey's chocolate chips
1 bag Reese's Peanut Butter chips
I've also tried the recipe with butterscotch chips instead of peanut butter chips, as well as white chocolate chips instead of peanut butter chips. They were all good, so if you don't like peanut butter or are allergic you can still make this recipe just substitute the peanut butter chips for another kind.

Day 9 Add 1 cup each of plain flour, sugar and milk and stir well. Divide into 4 equal portions and give away to friends with a copy of the instructions Day - 10. Keep the fourth portion.
Day 10 Stir well and add eight oz of sugar, 10oz plain flour, ½ tsp (teaspoon) salt, 5.3oz cup of cooking oil, 2 eggs, 2 tsp vanilla essence, 2 cooking apples cut into chunks, 7oz raisins, 2 tsp cinnamon, 2 tsp baking powder. Collect 3 free range eggs from your hens coops, make 6 oz of butter from the cream you get from your cattle, make 6 oz sugar in the bakery, harvest some wheat and mill into 6 oz self raising flour. Cream the butter and sugar until white and fluffy. Whisk the eggs and add slowly, folding gently into the cake mix. If it begins to split add a spoonful of sifted flour. Once all the egg is combined fold in the sifted flour in thirds. Put the mix into greased 7" cake tins and bake in a pre-heated oven at 180 for 20 minutes or until a knife come out clean when tested. Turn out and cool. Once cool spread on cake with strawberry or raspberry jam, cover with whipped cream and top with the second sponge. Share with your hard working farm workers.
This recipe is for 100% whole wheat, white flour will not turn out the same.
2 1/2 cups Warm water ~ 75 -100 degrees
1 cup sugar or honey
2 Tbsp active yeast
2 cups whole wheat flour
----Mix for 5-10 mins.
1/3 c. oil
1 Tbsp salt
2 Tbsps. Lemon juice (dough conditioner)
4 - 5 1/2 Cups whole wheat flour (until it loses it's stickiness)
----Mix as you add flour
----Let rise in a bowl for 45 min to an hour.
Then punch dough down and divide dough in half and make two separate loaves. Shape as desired. (Usually braided, there are youtube videos on 5 and 6 strand braids for this.)
Then let rise a second time for 1 - 1 1/2 hrs and bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 mins. At 20 mins. into baking remove and put an egg wash on, place back in oven for remainder 5 to 10 mins.

Always on the lookout for the best chocolate cake recipes, we were delighted to find this one! It's been called "delicious" by non-chocolate cake eaters, and requested for many a birthday and more non-occasions. The cake itself is made from scratch with buttermilk and plenty of eggs to keep it moist and firm, and the whipped cream cheese frosting is decadent and rich. For a summery spin, layer strawberries in between the layers of cake for a sweet surprise! With a little planning ahead, making this dessert is incredibly easy. We'd recommend making the base for the frosting a day ahead, so it has plenty of time to chill.

The Ultimate Chocolate Cake Recipe
Cake:
2 cups cake flour
¾ cup natural unsweetened cocoa powder
1 ½ teaspoons baking soda
¾ teaspoon salt
¾ cup (1 ½ sticks) unsalted butter, room temperature
2 cups golden brown sugar, packed
3 large eggs
1 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract
1 cup buttermilk
Optional: 10-12 strawberries, sliced (for inside the cake and a garnish)
Make your own vanilla extract
Frosting:
1/3 cup natural unsweetened cocoa powder
1 ½ cups chilled heavy whipping cream, divided
1 1/3 cups sugar
16 ounces of cream cheese
Position rack in center of oven; preheat to 325° F. Generously butter two 9-inch cake pans with 2-inch-high sides; dust with flour, tapping out any excess. Sift cake flour, cocoa, baking soda, and salt into medium bowl. Using an electric mixer, beat butter in large bowl until smooth. Add brown sugar and beat until well blended, about 2 minutes. Add eggs 1 at a time, beating well after each addition. Mix in vanilla. Add flour mixture in 3 additions alternately with buttermilk in 2 additions, beating just until blended after each addition.
Divide batter between pans; smooth tops. Bake cakes until tester inserted into center comes out clean, about 40 minutes. Cool cakes in pans on cooling rack for 15 minutes. Run small knife around sides of pans to loosen cakes. Invert cakes onto racks; lift pans off cakes. Cool completely.
