Big Farm Survival

GG need to learn from Zynga mistakes.

How long I will continue playing Big Farm will depend on few factors;
(i) The game must emphasize more on planning and strategy, NOT repetitive tasks. In fact repetitive task need to be completed taken out after achieving certain level.
(ii ) The higher the level of a player, he should be spending much less time at the game while earning much higher $.
(iii) In a company, a general worker may progress slowly until becomes Manager of a section. We dont expect the Manager still doing the same task as he did when he was a General Worker. Same situation shall be considered for this game as the players level increase.
(iv) I will be willing to spend real $ on this game..but only if I think Big Farm will survive in long run. Sorry to say,the way I see GGD pushing for the Gold sale and no brain time wasting repetitive tasks (same as Zynga did), the potential for the game to grow and survive in long run is doubtful.

That is my personal opinion this game after playing up to Level 36. I will be more than happy to share my suggestions for improvements and make more $$ from this Big Farm. If you think my suggestions are rubbish, just ignore it.

Once you get to level 41, you'll be able to buy the Flower Farm. (Or you can buy it now for gold. The hey with that...) Flower Farm is the best $$$ earner.

    Hey Pasohduah,

    we try our best :)

    (I) The game already relies heavily on strategy and a well working farm production setup, even if you don't see it all the time. If you don't plan ahead and pick a usable amount of each building, as well as the necessary follow-up buildings, and put all of them in good spots so you'll have more areas for decoration, you will have a hard time. Same goes for the correct setup for events, missions etc. If you have too much of one specific building, it will show, too. And all of that was just the main farm ;)

(II) The nursery helps a lot with that - you can create new seeds appropriate to what your higher-level setup looks like. Also, the higher level you are, the easier will be your time spent for events and missions, since you can afford a more all-around setup now.
The secondary farms factor in a lot, too, especially in regards of getting more money for stuff, but we will rework these soon to make them even more useful.

(III) That's a hard one :) Since after all, Big Farm is a casual/strategic browser game, there won't be much stuff we can really change up later in the game. But, of course, we are always updating and adding more things to the game that will extend the range of what you are able to do. Keep in mind that in terms of "Browser Game Time", as I shall call it now, Big Farm is still very young and there's much to develop :)

(IV) I obviously don't want to talk too much about our competition, but I'm pretty sure that as far as high production value casual games go, we've found a pretty good spot between catering to the more casual audience and the so-called "hardcore" players. Personally, I think both are basically not that different anyway. We are aware that we always have to offer more, and we have to deliver fast, and that's exactly our plan for the future of Big Farm. In a few days, a major new feature will run and cuddle it's way towards your farm, which will be absolutely free to use - as most of our established and new features. There will be some options for using Gold, of course, but our plan is and has always been to not put crucial features of the game behind a "Paywall".
We know some of our competitors try to get players with lots of free stuff, and then basically stop the game until the player buys in, and that's not what we planned to do with any of our games, because that just seems unfair to everyone.
As far as I know, we're not planning to change that :)

    Have a great day,
    Timo

I actually have to beg to differ. I have played numerous Zynga games, and with the exception of 1, I never played much longer than 2 or 3 months. The games either got too boring, with the energy games after level 20 it felt like a demo and you couldn't play the full game without real cash or just insane with their demands.

I have been playing this for about 6 months and don't see myself getting bored or frustrated with limitations anytime soon. Is the game perfect? No, but nothing is and GGS does take into account the players suggestions/praise/criticisms.

Elizabeth is right :) GGS is nothing like Zynga if I had a penny for everything GGS does better, I wouldn't have to ask my parents if I could buy gold :D Honestly speaking no matter how much people complain about GGS being mean and purposfuly wasting our gold I'll always disagree because there is lterally no game out there that gives free gold or something equivalent to gold as much as GGs does :) So keep up the good work guys

I like this farmgame because I can play it without friends. I can do what I will with my coop, and my farms. I can use money if I wish, or not. The farm work without using real money. And you have to think how you will have the best outcome, it is not only to set seed and harvest. You have to balanse it.

I don't think I can stand to loose another farm. I just roll with the changes and hope for the best. Patience is helpful to keep in mind too.

Geez getting tears just thinking about loosing this one too now. Going back to bed and start my day again later ;(

I do feel I am losing motivation to play...

Gourmet farm - expansions were cheap so it is expanded to max, running costs -100%, only one restaurant upgrade left of tasks (which gives more money, nothing else) - nothing interesting going to happen there.

On my main farm, as I can't upgrade mill any further and it is busy making food all the time but just barely covering the needs of my stables, I can't build more stables. As I can't build more stables I can't afford more orchards. So, I can't build anything new and therefore, have not much reason to strive to get my last two expansions, if only for running costs which are at "lousy" -77% there.

It is even worse on flower farm. With distillery only on level 4, I have its products nearly maxed (actually, trying hard not to go over) - even though I also have only ONE meadow level 1 to grow it on. Two apiaries, two olive groves and one citrus orchard give more than enough to keep shop level 6 (and apiaries) constantly running on what is the most useful stuff of the moment. Oh yes, and this farm also has running costs -100%. What would be the point of getting any new expansion (6 still left) or upgrade there?

Interestingly enough, I don't currently foresee getting bored of GGS Cafe, even though it is far more repetitive and without many challenges. It is probably because I can log in once a day to keep it going well - the demands on my time are minimal, so the time spent vs excitement received is in balance. ;) Big farm is far more demanding than, say Plinga's Family Barn (I went to try Zynga after reading this thread but never got past log-in screen - I'm NOT going to make an account before I can even see what they can offer).
