General tips for all the event
The collective spreadsheet with the deco events till now...
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AmznUddFysnPdEFPbU9YWThTa1kwWHVGMUdaQ1lYWFE#gid=6
There a lots of discussion reg how to complete the deco events fast. Some tips i find useful for all the events.
1) Upgrade your windmill and silo to the max possible level during the non event week days. They are key players for most of the collectibles. But dont upgrade them when the event is running.
2) Run your silo full for the Sunday overnight. Also start the apples and cherry orchards. Dont harvest the cherry orchards. The silos can help the asian and cherry the camping one.
3) All of the events mostly start on Monday. So if you have time, check once before you go to office. This might avoid the last start. In case of camping and asian event half of the first task might been completed.
4) Refer the spread sheet and get an idea of what tasks are ahead. This helps in planning better.
5) Have some special seeds handy. I will say the no of seed at-least equal to the number of fields you have. For the collect crops task, use special seeds with humus. It gives greater count for the same time than the normal ones. For refer check this.
6) Grind the chick feed only during the collectible task. As the corn -> chick feed -> eggs cycle gives more collectibles per hour. So during the other tasks grind the pig or cow feed.
7) Start your mill, silo and compost such that they will be ready when you reach the collectibles task. (for the collectible you get from processing building). Similarly for the stables too. Refer the spread sheet to know which collectibles are got from where.
This gives a nice lead at the start.
8 ) If the last set of collectible is taking too long.. its worth to spend small amount of gold on skipping them. Like one log for the first task in camping. This will help you get much time for the other collectibles. ( 3 hrs during the event is more worth than the 50 gold)
9) Keep your barn full of the items you need to donate. Also keep the corresponding facility ready to harvest at the start of the task. (apple orchards for the donate apples)
10) Keep some spaces for the temp production facilities. Remember the collectibles are not based on the level of the facilities. So a level 1 facility is sufficient.
11) If possible avoid sowing the event special seeds during the event running. This will avoid the accidental resow and gold loss.
12) Keep some farm dollars handy. If you feel its taking too much time, Buy and donate to avoid much time.

Players of lower levels than that will not see the event icons, and cannot participate. But dont worry the event reappear after some time.
This actually will depend on your time zone; the theme events usually start Sunday afternoon/evening in the continental US. So far I've noticed them start as early as 5pm and as late as 10pm Eastern time. So for us it's better to check around dinnertime and before bed.
From what I've seen others say, this is even more important on the final event task if you're willing to spend gold. If you don't complete the event there's supposed to be a last chance to get get the decoration anyway by purchasing it with gold, but reportedly you'll spend far less gold to skip the last task than you will to buy the decoration outright that way.
still need guide:huh:

Addition to this,
Hawaii Event unlocks on Level 16 for all players. To participate in this event your level must be 16 or 16 above.
I have a default: stage 1 apple orchard 7x7 (7.5 mins. to demolish) + 2 wagons 7x3 + 6 extra workers.
All I have to do is bulldoze the orchard & put wagons into storage, then build whatever facility the events needs + decorations to balance out the happiness.
Don't upgrade any of these as you want to be able to demolish them quickly for the next task.
Maybe add this into Co-Op projects to.
Happy Farming
George
Hope this helps for someone to bookmark a single sheet instead of one each for every event.
I am editing the last spread sheet with the count of collectibles for the other events. Its mostly complete for this camping event.
Water tower (especially to level 2) greatly reduces the amount of feed and fertilizer.
And if you are REALLY close to having the cherries as part of the task, it might be better to hold them and harvest them as part of the task.
As enochnock said, this thread is a great reference to all the events, so to keep it from disappearing onto page 2, I'm also bumping it back up!
Thanks for that information, Jiesta! I don't know how I missed that thread but will have to go take a look.
