Welcome to The Quail Run Coop's meeting point. Here you can ask questions and get advice...all without a pesky character count.

We are an active coop. Although we do require donations and participation, we also want you to improve your own farms and have fun. We are more than happy to accept input about what projects we should do and when we should do them.

Rules:
1. Active log on: Minimum of four times per week.

2. Mandatory participation in Research Projects as a researcher or contribution of a researcher via gold. If you have been notified of a research project and fail to participate without requesting a waiver 3 times you will be removed from the cooperative.

3. Participation in at least one of two co-op projects per week (your choice). Again, if you have been notified and fail to participate without requesting a waiver 3 times, you will be removed from the cooperative.

4. Weekly contributions to the co-op: levels 20–30 $20,000; levels 31 -40 $50,000; levels 41-50+ $200,000.

5. Monthly gold contributions: 30 gold, regardless of level.

Waived participation for research, projects, and contributions: Under special circumstances (e.g., vacation, RL emergency, donating extra gold or money) you can ask one of the co-op organizers to be waived from participation. Three requests within a month and/or 5 requests in 2 months will cause us to review your membership and possibly remove you from the co-op.

We understand that people have lives outside this game. We do not feel that requiring regular participation or log in will take up much of your time/resources. We are only seeking commitment to the co-op. Being a participant as a researcher or making contributions requires a very brief login time. Many of the co-op projects also require only sporadic logins to harvest and plant more crops (or feed animals). For example, the Patty-Cake project would need you to log in and out only a few times over a few days to collect cherries, wheat, and milk. We will do our best to have at least one co-op project of this type per week, and we will happily solicit and respond to feedback as to when to schedule such a project. This way, if you cannot stay on the game for long periods of time at once, you can participate in these longer-term projects. Those of you who can stay on the game for long periods of time are welcome to participate in either these longer-term projects or the shorter-term projects such as harvesting corn.

Members also need to regularly check their e-mails, the chat room, and the coop news (the first tab on the coop menu). That is how we communicate with our players, and that is where you will find more information about what we are doing and when we are doing it.

We welcome all new members and would like you to be acquainted with our guidelines for our coop. We are a new coop, but have the experience from running another coop. We have found what works and what doesn’t work. COOPERATION is the key. A Few motivated active members cannot carry the ones who are not COOPERATING. ALL need to work towards the goal of progressing the coop so ALL our farms can benefit from the perks that a cooperative gives them.
As stated above, input and suggestions will be accepted and considered. We don't claim to know all. Each coop has a variety of personalities so each would have to function slightly different to accommodate everyone. However, there are basic guidelines all successful coops seem to follow. We have gleaned ours from them to establish our own guidelines.

HOW TO JOIN A RESEARCH PROJECT
Fifth Tab at the top of your Cooperative Screen (the beaker icon)
Every member is required to participate (unless you have a waiver from leader or deputy) in our coop’s Research projects. These Research projects increase everyone’s profits for their farm's products and also help the cooperative to acquire new members and be more efficient with donated items and money contributions.

When you click on the Beaker Tab, underneath it towards the left side you will see a drop down menu. There are 5 categories on that list. Cooperative (shaking hands picture to the left), Cooperative Project (pitch fork & shovel), Main Farm (house), Gourmet Farm (hamburger), and last Flower Farm (flower).

COOPERATIVE - This Research area is for Recruitments (opening new members to join) and Subsidies (increasing the amount of funds members donate to the cooperative by a %)
COOPERATIVE PROJECT This Research area is for inhancing our Projects by increasing the time we get to complete our projects and by decreasing the amount of donated Inventory Items required to start a project.
MAIN FARM This Research area is for members to get more money from sales on their products like Milk, Eggs, Pigs, etc.
GOURMENT FARM This Research area is for members to get more money from sales on their products like, Omlets, Applesauce, Yoghurt, etc.
FLOWER FARM The Research in this area is like the other two above farm's Research - to increase the amount of money for sale of the farms products.

    TO JOIN/ENLIST AS A RESEARCHER
Click on the Beaker Tab - Click on the appropriate Research menu from the drop down menu (silghtly to the left under the beaker) - Click on the smaller box on the right of the screen that shows the announced Research that your cooperative will be working on (you may have to scroll down for the right one)- after clicking on that box a screen will open to the right side showing the Research information you will see at the lower part of that screen a small box showing a pencil and beaker click on that - That brings you to the Researcher screen - Click little green box under any blank researcher box (one with question mark). DO NOT click on the litte blue box showing gold unless you want to pay (with gold) for an additional researcher.
If you are still not sure ask your leader or any deputy.

    MISSIONS

MISSIONS: How to participate in a mission to gain Reputation Points.
Below on your main play screen you will see a tab with a small Blue Ribbon. Or if you click on the little arrow above the box showing the 3 people 3 boxes will pop up / appear. One will show the Blue Ribbon. Clicking on that will bring you to the Missions screen showing a list of upcoming missions on the left side and by clicking on a particular mission will show on the right the information about that mission. Pay close attention to the Starting Time of the missions. You may not want to join one that starts at 2 AM.
Select one that you would like to do. You can back out of it without losing your reputation points that it will cost you to participate only if you do it BEFORE the mission starts. After it starts you will lose your Reputation Points it costs to participate if you back out.

RECOMMENDATIONS: Don’t back out of a mission once it’s started. Continue and do your best. You never know what you can gain if you do.
Try for a mission that encompasses several hours. Not a short timed mission (around 4 hrs or more).

WARNING: There are many people out there who what some would call cheating that use their gold to pay to harvest or collect the mission items early. These people usually participate in missions that only take a short time.
There are also people who have purposely lowered their Reputation Points but their farms are at a very high level. They do this to win the mission and get the first place award (includes money) which some would also consider cheating.
Both of these activities so far are allowed by the game, so we just have to accept it and work around it as much as possible.

If you have any questions, you can ask our resident expert mbowlin, co-founder

    ALSO ON MISSIONS
IF ANYONE IS INTERESTED THEY CAN GO TO THE TOP OF THIS FORUM IN THE SEARCH BOX TYPE "The "Official" Mission Petition" They have a very good discussion regarding Missions, good and bad. You can also vote in their Poll and give your opinions.
I'll try and post more links and info regarding Missions. The game itself is very limited on their information and directions they provide.

One of the co-op projects (the Chicken or the Egg) requires the co-op to earn reputation points. If you're like me, you've become heartily disillusioned by missions--too many people using gold to speed up production.

The tips Ruth gave above are great, but I wanted to add my two cents in relation to the project. First, the project (unlike the actual missions) does not subtract the points you stake on the mission. In other words, if it costs 20 points to go on a mission and you end up coming in in the middle of the pack and only getting 10 points, it will lower your reputation score by 10...but it will count as 10 points earned toward the project.

Reputation points don't really get you much of anything, so if you lose them on missions, don't worry. That just means that the next time you go up, you won't be competing against as many 'cheaters.'

Ruth gave great advice on what missions to choose. I particularly like any mission that has you collecting dung, and any mission that lasts more than an hour. You can earn more points, and you won't see as many 'cheaters.'

As Ruth said, unless you're going to come in dead last, you're going to get some reputation points for the co-op, so stick with those missions even if you're coming in next-to-last.

    Hi asm126
No it is not a stupid question. You just click the box with the 3 people at the bottom of the main screen. Then click on the small shaking hands button. That will get you to the main cooperative screen.
