Do you ever fail at cooperative projects?

Lately our cooperative failed at Patty Cake project due to insufficient planning from my side and some inactivity from other members of the coop :( It got me thinking - do these failures happen often and how do you best cope with them? What do you do to prevent them and motivate your coop members to perform better? Any advice from coop leaders and deputies would be much appreciated :)

The coop that I am in have failed the apple project twice I think. Since the last fail, we have avoided it, but I have since added another apple tree and I will be adding yet another tree and then give it a go. It is a bit of a disappointment failing at a project, but don't let it put you off. Have fun, and Happy Farming.

i have failed a corn project at the start... dont know what to do them.. we thought its similar to the research so simply sat there...

from then onwards no failure... we plan ahead and prepare our farms for that...

We failed at the chicken or the egg project because we didn't realize that we also needed to earn 300 reputation points. We know now :).

My Co-op on the US server recently failed the Straw-Brain or Cabbage Head project.
We were very close to completing it, and it would have been finished if I had not needed
to leave for the last few hours of the project.
But other then the first Complete Movie Experience we ever did, that has been the only
    project we have failed.

We failed the apple project once. It was right after our beloved deputy and huge apple producer had left the co-op and the game. Since then we avoid the project and are recruiting heavily to get some members with good production farms. We do look a lot at production. However, lately we also took in lower levels and hope they will be developing soon. Having more active members is the way we deal with it. And lately we only do projects of which we are sure we will make it in time. Mostly we rely on the farms of the leader and deputies and the best members of the co-op, checking of which production facilities they have most and avoiding projects that need produce that is not being made regularly (like wild flowers). Since then we haven't failed a project any more, but have also avoided those we may not finish in time :)

We have done 4-6 so far and 1 research, no fail yet, I hope we dont either. Although the apple picking had me a bit worried. But we finished it with 7 hours to go. You should have an

We cannot fail any research. :D:D

Failures can only be obtained in coop projects (if I am not wrong););)

You are spot on. A research cannot be failed unless you do not manage to start it. You could see that as a fail, but that will be a matter of money ^^ Only projects can fail by not completing them within the time.

As for Boffe's answer, please do keep making the difference between research and project for yourself! It will save a lot of confusion for you and your members ;)

We also have failed once or twice when we were inexperienced and low level players. Since then our co-op has grown with more members along with leveling up our farms. Participation, timing, assessment of overall production capability and choosing the right project are the factors for successfull completion. Also, projects level up after completion,so it's very usefull to track or remember the outcome of past projects. Meaning, was there enough remaining time on completion? Did we have to push our production to the limit in order to accomplish it? I have to underline that participation and programming are the most important . Even a failure can be usefull, if you take the opportunity to examine the reasons and make the appropriate adjustments.

We have never failed. I plan ahead and I let members know at least 2-3 days before give a time it is going to start and without an excuse you can only miss 2 then we talk about what they want to do leave or stay and not miss another one I always check farms field levels, tree levels, coop levels and cow shed levels so I know we can finish it.

There should be a counter on each member so you can see who pulls there share in the missions and then you can boot the members that dont do work on them..

We failed the apple mission once but we succeeded the second time we tried armed with higher Negotiation Skill researches and probably 20 more apple orchards as a coop.

Yeah we did too, but we just didn't get enough rep points before our time was up. These things sometimes happen and it is best to just learn from it and move on. No point letting it get you down as there is nothing you can do about it. It's done and over with.
