Why did you join a coop?

Hi, I am doing some research and I would like to know why people do join a coop. What is your reason?
What particular benefits do you see in being in a coop?

I have not joined a coop, I have started one. To be completely honest, in the beginning I just wanted to complete the task, as any other task we get on the farm. Of course, I made a standard newbie mistake - putting only "I want to be in your cooperative" in my application, and of course no one accepted me :-) so I started my own... It took some effort to find members and keep my coop going, but I am glad I did. As for benefits - main one for me is that coop adds another dimension to the game, it keeps game more interesting, and if I wasn't in the coop I would probably have a feeling that I am missing out on something. Of course, being able to do research and increase prices of farm produce is also benneficial. Coop tree is a great addition also.
P.S. Thank you for starting this post and "Reasons why people don't join coop", it will give us an interesting insight

Your welcome, I am really interested to hear what people think and their reasonings. I have twice played on Big Farm, once in a coop, once not in a coop. Very different game play. I have to say I prefer to be in a coop than not.
My reason for joining was to get the extra cash benefits from the research. However, from being in a coop I would now say that reason is now at the bottom of my list of benefits. It will be interesting to see more replies to this thread.

My story is similar to that of GirlAlexandra. However, I never applied but started one immediately. I am not the social type when I am new to something, so I thought if I start one, I have it in own hands and can also decide not to take in any people and keep playing on my own. I did that just to complete the task as well. Soon I had applications and I felt too bad about not accepting them so I did. Those first members are comparable to the most in the training co-ops now. Not very active, not very much fun. Also, because it was on the international server, I got applications in other languages. I remember a Portuguese member I had. I google translated everything for him. Then my best friend came up with the idea to join the game and my co-op to help me out. I almost yelled yes and let him in the co-op and made him deputy. He started re-organising things and told me we needed better members because this was not working. Nowadays he recruits the most and I am just enjoying the fun we have in chat, which is also my main reason to still have this co-op and run it with passion. I love chatting and meeting the new members. Basically I do not even think about the benefits that would fall away if I would leave the co-op. I just love how my members are towards me and how I am towards them, they are my friends and I would definitely miss them a lot if I would leave. I miss them already if I cannot be online for some reason ^^ And besides that, because my friend and I cooperate so closely about it and discuss things that happen and which projects and researches we do, I think it strengthens our bond even more, so the co-op is definitely a social tool for me. So yeah, that kinda is my story ^^ Curious for other stories as well :D

i'll join in the top 100 coop with lot of benefits like selling eggs, milk, and wheat. For this benefits, it required me to gives 10k dollars daily but it it is no problem for me. One thing I'm not started in coop, some members does not participate and the 350 gold starting fee :)
