Gourmet Farm - Financial Aspects
My Main Farm currently has operating costs at -54% (with 5 workers available), and I have the funds to purchase another plot of land or do some other expensive upgrades. I am thinking instead about taking the plunge and purchasing the Gourmet Farm. It has also occurred to me that the additional farms might impact some of the decisions I make for the Main Farm, in terms of choosing additional production facilities according to what I want to supply to the other farms.
So - here I am, asking this knowledgeable community for some direction and guidance.
- Does the Gourmet Farm become profitable fairly quickly, or does it take a lot of $ to get it going? I'm assuming I'll need more than the $50K purchase price to build the first few facilities to start production.
- Should I dive in now, or wait until the Camping with Tessa event is over? I'm thinking that if I purchase it during the event, I could build event-only decorations on the Gourmet Farm.
- Anything else I need to know about this?
Thank you so much for this helpful place, and any insight you can offer.

Yes the gourmet farm costs a lot with upgrades and expansions and deco's and all that stuff, but it'll pay back, trust me.
Even if you'd only use your gourmet farm for apple sauce, cherry juice or yoghurt you already make more profit from the previous stated products than by just selling them.
And no you do not need more than the 50k.
Once you have purchased the gourmet farm, you already got the restaurant for free! so you can start earning money right away! isn't it beautiful?
IF you sow sugar beet in your garden and has some idea to make sugar. Think well if your are going to sell the sugar alone, its not profitable when compared to the sugar beets selling price.
Use sugar to make other products. If you need money sell sugarbeet instead of sugar cubes.
As soon as you have your happiness on your Gourmet farm a bit ok, then it can make you a nice profit. For the rest: just build it up slowly, don't get hasty because the side-tasks want a lot of things. The gourmet farm needs a lot of decorations, so build it up without haste and all will be good
When I first purchased the place, the operating costs were at +6%, so my first order of business is to get them down to a more favorable level.
Thanks for the prompt and helpful responses.
