cooperative without gold?

Is it possible to be in a cooperative and NOT spend any gold? or is this a prerequisite? I am trying to play this game all the way without spending any gold other than what I earn along the course.

Yes, it is possible, although it will depend on the co-operative. Some require gold donations as part of the requirement for being a member. As a co-op gets bigger some projects need gold and you might feel uncomfortable not contributing, but perhaps can give extra dollars instead. And there are also some co-ops who will not attempt the projects that require gold

I can't remember for sure but you can have up to 15 members in your coop and you can complete most(if not all) of the farm management research tasks (ie increase amount earned for apples, pigs, milk etc by a given percentage) without using any gold - just lots of dollars.

The only research tasks that use gold are the ones that make the cooperatives projects a lot easier - ie increasing members above a certain point and reduction of collectible items required for each coop project task.

You can have a very good coop indeed without gold - just not the best coop.

Our coop is quite new, and we have never spent any Gold to move forward. We are now on Coop level 11 and research level 2. Its great fun doing all the tasks together. We are currently nine members and all of us contribute as much as we can. We have agreed that we just might spend some of the Gold we get through the game if we find that nessecary later on, but only if we have enough Gold amongst us to do so. I am sure you will find another Coop like ours Good luck to you
