    *Official Notice*

    Retirement Farm Co-op Rules:

    1. Although we pride ourselves on being a co-op for Part-Time players and do not require a daily log-in, we do have a weekly log-in requirement. This lets us know that you are still an active member of the co-op and willing to help in the efforts of our team. Should an event occur that will deny you the ability to log-in for more than a week, please let us know so that you are not removed from the co-op.

    2. All co-op members will be treated fairly and respectfully by the entire team. There is no need to speak ill of a member or degrade them publicly. Any member in violation of this in chat or forum WILL BE removed from the group immediately.

    3. Participation in Co-op projects and research is key to our success as a group. For this reason, you may be asked to participate in specific ways to assist in reaching our goals. We understand that some members may not be able to contribute monetarily at times and may be asked to fulfill other duties to ensure team success. If three requests are made of you and you cannot (under fair limitations) complete any of these requests, you may be asked to resign from the co-op.

    4. All postings within this area should be directly related to events and topics affecting our co-op. If you have something of a personal nature that you would like to discuss with the group, feel free to message me and I will determine if it is appropriate to post in our forum.

    5. Most importantly, have fun and enjoy yourself! This is a GAME after all and should be treated as such. Happy Harvesting!

I would like to see a brief introduction from each of you to let your fellow farmers know a little about yourself. This will help everyone feel more a part of the team and give us a chance to get to know each other a bit.

My name is FarmerKeithPlay - A.K.A. Keith

Indiana is the place I call home and will probably be here until the day I die. I am in my early 40's, love my family, my pets, and my home. Currently, I work in manufacturing and have for several years. I particularly enjoy home remodeling and woodworking as hobbies and playing with my dogs. I prefer to keep things light and like to enjoy life as well as I can. :)

    Hello Farmers!!!

We will begin our next project this weekend. We have three that are ready to start thanks to collection item donations from several players.

Saturday morning, I will begin the "Complete Movie Experience" project. This will run for 24 hrs and we have to collect a total of 8100 corn. We have successfully completed this project before so this shouldn't be that hard. The project will start at approximately 10:00 am Saturday and run until 10:00 am Sunday or whenever we reach our collection goal.

I hope everyone possible can assist in completing this project. Get ready to shuck some corn and Happy Harvesting! :)

    Have a Good Day everyone!

We have started signing up researchers for the "More Kinds of Milk" research project. This will give us an 8% increase in funds from the sale of milk. I know that I sell off milk daily and this would be a great little boost to our income.

Please join me in getting this research started! I would like to have all of our members signed up as researchers so nobody has to use gold to hire them. If we all give a little, we can all gain a lot. :) Once we have all our researchers, I will look to see where we are at financially and notify everyone of what they need to donate monetarily to get us going. If you have any questions, let me know :)

    Happy Harvesting!

    :rolleyes:Update!!!

We have now acquired half of the researchers we need for our newest research project. Thanks to those that have already signed up. Also, we have received monetary donations from a couple players to help us along. I will be keeping those in mind when it is time to request donations to complete our research. Keep up the good work everyone. 8)

 For everyone of us working on Camping with Tessa, best of luck to you! Looks like it will be a tough task to complete but at least you appear to be rewarded well in each stage.

    **UPDATE**

I have recently elected to remove one of our members due to inactivity. Although I appreciate the efforts by this former member, I feel our group would be better served to have that slot filled by someone who is actively farming at this time. We wish them well in all they do.

Moving forward, I have posted notice that we are looking to fill this spot in our group and should have a new member recruited very soon.

Also, I am still wanting to know when you feel would be a good time to start our next project. Drop a short post here and let me know when would be best fit for each of you and I will let everyone know when it will be.

:D Okay everyone, we will be starting collecting apples for the "Wild About Apples" project on Wednesday, May 29th. The start time will be approximately 10 a.m. and will run for 48 hrs or until the collection of 21,000 apples is completed. :D

I selected this time based on the information I received from members and since I know that Bigpants and I tend to log in daily. I wish all of you the best of luck with your farms and, as always . . . Happy Harvesting!

Hope you had a GREAT Memorial Day weekend 8)

I have decided that we should try something new for the next week or so to see how it goes. ?( I have decided that we need to progress our ranking and the best way to do that is to increase our solidarity points. So, for the next week, I would like to give a go at continuous projects. I know some of you may be nervous about this because there are obligations outside of this game that we all have, but I think we will be okay. ^^

Once our "Wild About Apples" project is finished, I would like us to jump right into the "Cheesed Off" project (60 hr. run time), then we will follow that up with another go at the "Complete Movie Experience" project (24 hr. run time). If all goes well with these projects, we will go back into "Wild About Apples" on Monday morning. I will be calling on my Deputies to help make sure we get the projects started in a timely fashion. With everyone's contributions, we can get these done without issue.

Also, we need one more researcher and a few cash contributions to begin our Negotiations research. Once we have the funds, I will work this in after our project test is finished. Thanks for all your help making this a success. :D

If you have any concerns or questions, feel free to get ahold of me or post it here.

    Happy Harvesting Folks!!!8)

Well done on the "Cheesed Off" project everyone! Amazed that we completed it in 1/3 of the allotted time. With our recent efforts, our little co-op has shot up to :!:#278:!:in the co-op rankings and will move to about #260 with the completion of the next project. Since we have the rest of the weekend available, we have started the "Complete Movie Experience" project (24 hr. run time). This project should be run during weekend times anyway since it requires us to harvest every 5 minutes.

Also, I wanted to thank everyone for the generous donations to the co-op account. We are on the verge of starting the "More Kinds of Milk" research, which is good because we just unlocked the second level research with our project efforts. 8)

In case you are unaware, Big Farm has some interesting updates coming up on Monday, June 3. Looks like there are more decorations up for grab soon. Read the update by clicking here. ^^

I also wanted to throw in an update for our group. It has come to my attention that I should be more specific with start times. Effective immediately, all information regarding times will be formatted as "10 a.m. Eastern / 7 a.m. Pacific." This will help everyone know exactly when the project or research will begin. Additionally, our co-op has some very generous members who are willing to give as often as they can. This has left some feeling like they miss out on the opportunity to contribute collection items to the co-op. I am hopeful that our new project format will be a success and we will be able to use everyone's collection items for projects in the near future. For this same reason, I am going to hold off on research to lower the number of collection items needed until further notice. We all are doing a fantastic job with our co-op and I value each and every one of you as members. Keep up the GREAT work!;)

As always, you can leave a message here, in the main co-op chat, or privately if you have any questions or comments about Retirement Farm Co-op

Effective immediately, Ruth56 has been promoted to the rank of deputy within our co-op!;) Through her outstanding efforts and dedication to the Retirement Farm, she has shown herself to be a valued member of this group and a very valuable asset to the co-op. Congrats Ruth! You deserve it.

Additionally, if you haven't yet noticed, we have another new member in our group. Please take a moment to say HI and welcome mbowlin to the co-op when you see they are online. Let's make mbowlin feel like one of us. :D

    Happy Harvesting Everyone!

Well done everyone! We have completed the "Wild About Apples" project as well as completed our "Negotiations" research. I have started gathering a group for "Healthier Pigs Level 2" research. This will give us a 40% increase in $$$ from the sale of pigs. We are only short approximately $175,000 for the research costs so making this up shouldn't be an issue. :)

Later this week I will plan out the next project list for our group to complete. We have shot up the ranking board this week to #244! That's a big jump from where we were :) I hope that everyone was good with the co-op projects and didn't find it to interfere with real life. Let me know if you have any issues with how things went this week and we can make adjustments if needed.

Now, go work on your farmer's tan, lol

For some of our members, missions may be one area of game play that is unfamiliar. I have taken part in quite a few missions and have found some helpful hints through my efforts.8)

Missions are extra challenges that players can take part in to earn Experience points, $ Cash$, and Reputation points. These missions range from Collecting Wildflowers and Production of feed to Selling items. They range in value depending on the task and duration of time to complete, as well as different reward levels too. ?(

Each mission will cost you reputation points to register. You will then compete with up to ten players of "similar" experience and reputation levels. Now, some of these players like to try to buy the top spot by using gold to boost their overall production number and be ahead of everyone else. X( Don't let this bother you. You can still make missions profitable by competing in the mission and harvesting, selling, or producing as much as possible during the time allotted.

I have learned through my mission play that this will help on your farm regardless of how you place in the mission. Everything you do, with the exception of "Selling" missions, will increase inventory levels on your farm. Even "Selling" missions will garner extra $$$ since you will be producing items to sell and you get to keep the money.

Some helpful things I have learned are as follows:

Early on, you will be more likely to rank first in mission play as you will compete against others who are new to missions. Use this to you advantage! You are more skilled and more efficient farmers than some of the other players of your level. A well established farm can generate more than a lesser farm.

Once the mission has started click the missions tab to open up the window and determine how high you need to rank in order to make back your reputation points. This should be your desired minimum placement in the challenge. Example: Cost 30 Reputation points to join - 4th place awards 45 Reputation points, 5th place 20 points.

Additionally, missions like Production of Pig Feed tend to take longer and some players will not put forth full effort. This can easily generate you some good amounts of $$$. Make sure you have your inventory levels up and fields available to produce more before you begin!

Selling missions can be manipulated by purchasing extra and reselling. Just keep in mind your overall profit from the mission and don't spend more than you will make. These are good for generating experience points more than $$$.

When competing in a Production of Feed mission, watch the time as it draws to an end and produce a feed level that will allow you to start a new run of feed at the last minute. Remember, this is a Begin Production of Feed mission and sometimes you can take the top spot at the end by using this method. ;)

Above all else, keep your farm upgrades going and prepare before you join a mission to give yourself the best possible shot at coming in 1st! Hopefully, this will help you become a force to be reckoned with in mission play. Good Luck Fellow Farmers!!!

Stage 4 is Bread Crumbs. You will find them by harvesting crops. Not sure how many you will need at your level since GGS has determined that the totals for completion are different based on your level. The longer a crop takes to produce, the more crumbs you get from that crop.

Stage 6 is collecting fireflies! Again, number needed depends on your experience level. Average firefly yields per activity, converted into their hourly equivalents for comparison, are -

    Code:
    Activity Fireflies/hr Number of harvests

    Flowers 10 57
    Corn 9 75
    Cabbage 2 18
    Wheat 1 6
    Apples 0 13
    Chicken Coop 4 100
    Pig Sty 1 11
    Cow Shed 0 8
    Mill corn 25 144
    Mill cabbage 8 22
    Mill wheat 12 7
    Silo 6 14
    Composter 3 6

I've included the number of harvests so that you can get a handle on the likely accuracy of the yield figure - the lower the number of harvests, the lower the accuracy.

Found this information on another post to help us out. Not sure how the number of harvests correlates, but at least this gives you an idea of where to get the most fireflies from. Hope this helps everyone! :)

We will begin our new project at 2:00 P.M. Eastern / 11:00 A.M. Pacific today (June 7). This project has a run time of 52 hrs 48 mins so I am not planning anything else for the weekend. I don't want any other projects to interfere with everyone's ability to complete the "Once Upon a Time" task so I think this will be best.

I think we can benefit well from splitting crops so that you have one Wheat field going and the rest Cabbage until the 19,000 Cabbage are collected. Then we can direct our efforts to full Wheat harvests since it takes so long to produce a crop. As a group, we should be able to gather the 2800 Wheat needed with this method. Just a suggestion, feel free to work your farm how you see fit. :D

Once we are out of the "Once Upon a Time" task, I will determine a schedule for projects, as well as, a start date for our next "Recruitments" research project. I understand that our lower level members may not be able to gather $$$ fast enough to maintain this pace and still improve their farm. If you are having trouble keeping up, feel free to get ahold of me and I will work with you on ways to keep you involved with the co-op agenda without breaking the bank.

    Happy Harvesting everyone!8)

    Father's Day Weekend Activities -

:DEnjoy your weekend and work on your farm at your own pace. I will not be on much this weekend due to work and the Father's Day holiday. So, what I have planned for this weekend is to have a good time with your families if you have them, work on upgrading your farms, building inventory and cash flow, or even expanding your farmland.:D

If we can get our last spot filled for our Recruitments research, I will start the research project. We have the necessary funds and should have all the researchers we need so once this is available we can begin. I would like to start looking for 2 more members to join our group so we can keep moving forward. Thank you to everyone who has already joined and I appreciate your efforts.

Have a GREAT weekend everyone! I will post something this weekend about planned activities for next week. We need to get on a roll again and see how high we can climb in the rankings!

I agree completely with everything Ruth said. I took the liberty of analyzing your farms (great names by the way!) and I have a couple suggestions that you may consider to help you along.

I am assuming that you upgraded your cherry orchard to level 2 for the task that arrives, in my opinion, way too early for most players to use it effectively. Your Level 3 upgrade task won't happen for quite a while. I think Ruth and I both just recently got that task. I decided to demolish my cherry orchard and replace it with an apple orchard to gain $$$. Although you have the cherry orchard, you are probably having trouble getting enough fertilizer to run it enough to make it worthwhile. You can re-establish it later when the level 3 task approaches. Yes, you will have to upgrade from 1 to 3 again but you will be in a better position financially to do so. Also, work to get your inventory levels maxed out on animals, apples, and maybe even your crops. This way, everything you do generates $$$. Additionally, you will soon be approaching tasks that require you to make available generous amounts of your goods so it is nice to have some already there to complete the task.

On your Gourmet farm, you definitely need to expand. Use the cash you generate from your main farm to do so. You need a second garden to be able to produce more mixed veggies and onions. The Cabbage soup only takes a little over 4 hours and generates $20,000 but this is hard to do with just one Garden. Once you are hitting it smoothly with those items and able to make the soup more frequently, work in a few crops of tomatoes and get that puppy maxed out as well. I know they are pricy to produce, but they pay off well in the end, especially if you can use humus on the crops. Just some suggestions, hope they help ya out.

Also, starting Monday, there will be a new event going on. Maybe you can reach the end this time! :) Best of luck and if you have any questions, just ask.
