    Meeting Place

    Hi Zen Co-op!

This is our co-op forum. Please use this as a supportive place. For instance, if a player has made a valuable contribution to the team or to their farm.

For prospective members, you must verify that you are willing and able to meet the membership requirements. Please keep in mind that we are only able to accept players within us 1.

    Membership Guidelines

All of our members desire to succeed as a co-op. We simply ask that each member do their part to help us succeed. It is your co-op as much as anyone elses. Make the most of it and enjoy our adventure!

    Level Requirement
We require a minimum of Level 25 for our members. This is due to one of our tasks requiring MILK from a cowshed. Higher levels are prefered because we have Research that we need each member to participate in.

    Log on Everyday
We love this game and want to 'see' our fellow members on a regular basis. If, for any reason, a member is unable to log in for more than 2 days, we do ask that they let us know.

Donate to the Co-op Account on a Regular Basis
We need funds to start research projects. We earn the funds by donations from our members. Daily donations are based upon a player's ability. We trust that you know what your farm can afford to donate.

    Participate in each Research Project
Each player can pay farm cash once a project. Therefore, we need each member to help.
If you do buy gold, you may pay into each project with coin as many times as you want, but this is not expected. Your farm benefits from our Farm Management Research by increasing the sell price of various farm goods. Other Research tasks help by reducing the amount of Items needed for tasks, allows for matches to donations, and increase the allowed time for tasks amoung numerous benefits.

    Donate Collection Items whenever Possible
Collection Items allow us to start Co-op tasks that allow our team to level up. Collection Items can only be used within the co-op. As our team levels up, we are participate in more Research projects that allow us to gain more benefits to our farms.

    Communicate
Many of our members enjoy communicating with each other in the co-op chat. It is a lively and fun place to learn about each other. We also like to use the chat to help our fellow members know about upcoming events and new items within the game.

    Server Requirements
Please be aware that we are only able to accept members within "us 1"

To quote Samwise: it is important that we all "share the load"

Agree,if we doing the farming ones it can mean more cash for our farms to expand which in return can benefit the Co-op by being able to donate more.

The selection of future Research was done to avoid past issues related to what is easily accessible versus the co-op goals. When the time comes to fund the Healthier Pigs and More Kinds of Milk projects, I will send out a Group Message to make sure everyone knows where they are located.

Our deputies have been making some impressive donations to our co-op lately! We are well on our way for funding future Research.

With doing the farm ones they will increase our sales which can work out for all. But also if we add more to the Co-op we have more to help fund all the research projects and help with the tasks.

With each helping with the research it will benefit you, yes it is a large amount of money to participate but if you look at the outcome of the research you will gain alot of rewards.

Yes we are, I see where you are going with the change in the research line. The higher the intake we each get the higher the intake is for the whole co-op. Then if we add more to the group the higher our chances our of filling research goals, collecting items for the tasks, and then being able to finish the task in plenty of time.

    Deputies

The deputy position is an important component to the success as a co-op. Zen Co-op has criteria for becoming a duputy that may differ from other co-ops.

    Criteria
    1) Level is the average of the co-op
    Our current average is 31.77
    2) Participates without prompting
Our current and upcoming co-op tasks and research are posted in the News section in our Co-op tab.
Members that keep track of this information help prevent a request for help being sent out to the co-op members.
The assistance of members in Research helps prevent other members from having to pay into Research with gold to get the project started.
    3) The member communicates any issues he or she may have:
    - Logging in (such as a vacation)
    - Funding Research
    - Donating Collection Items
    4) Participates daily in the game and co-op.
    5) Finally, the member needs to have been a member of the co-op for at least 2 weeks.

    Tasks
    1) Starts Group Missions
Our group missions (tasks) help our co-op increase in levels.
Our tasks are started only when a deputy or leader is able to immediately fund the task with a harvest.
    2) Starts Research
Once all of our research positions are filled, a deputy or leader may start the clock to complete the research.
    3) Assists with Recruitment
As our co-op grows, applicants need to be PM'd to make sure they understand our co-op Membership Requirements prior to acceptance of their application.
Deputies assist our co-op by finding new members who will help our co-op advance and successfully complete tasks.

    Tips for Member Success

Our co-op consists of a wide range of levels. To improve the success of our lower level members, we will post our individual strategies here to help.

    Roo's Strategies
    1) In all fairness, I have been helped along with the purchase of coins. I would not recommend this strategy because it is money out of your own pocket.
    2) When new decorations with higher happiness became available, I would store my older, less valued decorations. Then, I would build the new decor in its place. it is a short term loss for a long term gain. This is also helpful for the individual tasks that require a certain amount of decor - so far up to 28.
    3) When space became available, I would build extra production buildings. I would start with orchards. Four Level 4 Cherry Orchards earn me 216,000 every 12 hours.
    4) I max out my storage on all goods. Whenever I needed a quick increase in farm cash, I will sell off everything to 500 or 0 depending on my farm needs.
    5) While others may focus on the additional farms, I like to focus on upgrading my main farm as the costs tend to be lower.
    6) While I was a lower level player, I would look at the farms of the Top 5-10 players to see the layout of successful farmers. I found this extremely helpful as I expanded my farm and updated my decorations as I knew how many of each structure I would need to be successful. However, I now find that looking at the farms of my fellow co-op members helps me just as much, if not more, because I have a better understanding of their approach and strategies.

    Chiara's Strategies
    1) I build newer and higher happiness decorations as I go.
    2) I focus on upgrading the buildings that bring in the most money, then I upgrade the animals. ie. upgrade orchards before pig pens, chicken coops, or cow shed.
    3) I use the added farms my main source of farm cash.
    4) I keep all items stocked until I need the money for an upgrade or the purchase of a new building.
    5) I am also a gold user. I like to use the gold for the higher level gold decorations, upgrading, and when needed for co-op research spaces.

***Please keep in mind that the purchase of gold within the game is entirely an option. Gold is also available from level advancement, completing some individual tasks, and once or twice a week when logging in daily. While some members find purchasing gold to be helpful, please do not take this to mean that purchasing gold is a requirement in Zen Co-op.***

Just a quick note, I will only be making a one time donation at the start of each play day of the cap amount as I am now at a level where I can do so and still be able to manage my farm with upgrades and running items. And I will no longer be paying any gold to fund projects as most are at levels to help with research to benefit themself and the co-op.

    4/23/13 Update

As a co-op we have been progressing nicely. We are currently waiting on donations of ITEMS from our members. This is a time to be patient as each task requires a huge amount of the items. We will get there! The wait will be worth it.

    As for Research:
    - We are currently in need of Researchers for the NEED MORE MILK research. To help with this, we will have more new players in the future.

As you may be aware, we are currently searching for more members. We do have 5 slots open. This is due to the fact that we did two Recruitment Research projects back to back. We want all of our members to be equally in charge of the growth of our co-op. Therefore, we will be selective in our new member selections.

    Communication

A quick note regarding our Requirements:

We will work with members as long as they keep an open line of communication. We do understand that players have a life outside of the game. Also, we understand that members make their farm a priority. With an open line of communication we are able to work together to help you be a successful farmer.

We do notice when a player is off longer than normal. If members let us know before hand, we will not worry about you.

As a co-op, we are all invested in the success of not only our own farms, but in the farms of our fellow members. That is why we have a post here regarding farm success (we do not require members to buy gold). I regularly keep our co-op informed of our lastest happenings and other tools for success.

As the saying goes, "a team is only as strong as its weakest link." I think that applies here, so we do what we can to help our members. We just need to be informed if a member needs our help, patience, or understanding.

Why Do Some Co-ops Require Gold?

We really appreciate the help of every member. We ask our members that are over Level 30 to donate gold to the co-op to donate 25 gold a week because we have some Research projects that require Gold to start. This is not a requirement to buy gold. The gold should come from one of the gifts for logging in daily and leveling up. Considering that members level up at least once a week, this requirement should not be too much.

how i calculated the apple task. 290,000 apples. 62 hours 24 mins

x390 apples harvest at level 3 (most are at 3 level or above)
    X 49 the # of orchards (as of Aug 14, 2013)
X15 number of harvest needed from each members
(46 hours allowing 18 hours for sleeping & other activities)
    =286,650 total.

Still need 3,350 apples to be sucessful.

If there's any one is not available it will be harder to complete this task.

That's a minimum of 5,919 apples from each orchard.

    1 apple orchard : 5,919
    2 apple orchard : 11,833
    3 apple orchard : 17,757
    4 apple orchard : 23,676
    5 apple orchard : 29,595
    6 apple orchard : 35,514

    Thanks Fran

    Task Contributions

To make things easier on all our members we do work out the necessary contributions of each member to help us complete tasks in record time.

    How we begin:
The best way to get our tasks done early is to count only 75% of our farms. I have now created a spreadsheet to show all the numbers and automatically figure out 75%. If there is interest in seeing the spreadsheet, please let me know. We do have 15 members, but due to some concerns, I have only put the farms of 14 players on the spreadsheet.

As a starting point, I counted the Fields, Apple Orchards, Cowsheds, Chicken Coops, and Cherry Orchards. I also took the average of levels for Silos and Windmills to figure out how many rounds [harvests] are needed to complete a task.

    What we have:

    Fields
    59
    Average Level 3.714

    Apple Orchards
    29
    Average Level 3.714

    Cowsheds
    32
    Average Level 2.857

    Chicken Coops
    35
    Average Level 3.786

    Cherry Orchards
    17
    Average Level 3.714

    Silos
    Average Level 2.75

    Windmills
    Average Level 3.643

    Reputation Points
    Average 314

Deputies, please send out a group message whenever you start a task. In this message please let the members know:
    - The total number of item(s) needed to complete the task
    - How long we have to complete the tasks
    - The individual requirements

These numbers make the difference between completing a task within a few hours and with minutes to go.

Having started this co-op in February, I would like to say how happy and proud I am to be a part of this co-op. All of our members do everything within their power to help us reach our co-op goals. I love that we all have a shared desire to be the best co-op we can. Regular donations from team members both farm cash and gold have really helped us become a wonderful co-op. Our communication is excellent and fun!

I couldn't ask to be a part of a better co-op. I really appreciate everyone's patience as we take the time to add new members. We still have the space for 2 new members. We will get there in due time.

    2) We now have 21 fantastic members. Our goal is to have 25-30.
    3) We are completing our co-op tasks with time to spare. Our goal is to complete one "long" task a day.

Due to the limitations of the Group Messaging system within the game we now have a blog. Since the Blog has far more options than we have here, we are now posting Tips, Voting, and other information within the Blog.

We ask that our members follow or check the blog daily.
