an apple a day...making me ill!

I want to know what the point is of taking all the stuff that I worked so hard to accumulate...100 fertilizer now 790 apples! I am looking at over 800,000 bucks for my upcoming expansion and now I just feel defeated! I worked for days to get my fertilizer up over 100 and now just had to hand it over for a goal! X( now I have to turn over 790 apples?!?! That is a lot of money and work just down the drain! I feel like every time I gain a step or 2 and think I am getting ahead I have to start back at zero...making me not want to play the game so much?(

I joined about the same time and I enjoy the game. Am now Level 30. It's true that you get a step ahead and then you have to loose all that you have gained but in this is the challenge. Trying to keep up or maybe a bit ahead now and then. My biggest mistake was to press the wrong button in the donation campaign and lost almost 700,000 farm dollars and now I am trying to catch up again. So in this is another challenge put forth by myself for not being careful. The challenge is why I play the game.

You dont have to turn them over do you? You get a good price, I'd sell for $37.000 any day, just the fertilizer is a big sacrifice

    I posted a while ago http://en.board.goodgamestudios.com/bigfarm/showthread.php?52796-Watch-and-quiver-...lev-37-String-queste-donate-100-fertilizer.What-lies-beyond

wonder if this string is worth finishing

Queste asks to donate 100 fertilizer and gives 20 XP Points plus $70.000.
Seems to me (no high level watertower)this is a sacrifice.
Once through my orchard 100 furtilizer is worth $180.000 and I need every bag prduced. You need 10x205=2050 manure. If you dedicate one lev 2 cowshed for this task it takes 20 times 7 hours is 140 hours continuous cycling. In my week are 168 hours.
Did anybody actually do this one?(What is in the rest of the string, a pot with gold or even more sacrifice?

It is 100 fertilizers, that's correct.

I found this in the German forum, and the numbers might be wrong, but overall what's coming after the fertilizer should be as follows:

    ---3.: (60 XP, 37.000 Dollar)
    Make 790 apples available
    ---4.: (50 XP, 50 GOLD)
    Make 790 pigs available
    Buy 10 apples

If that's worth it, that's up to you to decide (I remember I thought it didn't pay off too well ;) )

So you know whats next, gold and xp points You already made the big sacrifice. I'm a level 46 and its still sitting there untill I dont know what to do with fertilizers. Now :)

I am currently up to donating corn, cabbage and 900 wheat. I love the quests regardles of what I have to give because I like the challenge that It all represents.

But you don't have to do the quests, they don't go away, so you can do it anytime you are ready, or just keep ignoring it.

An additional bit of information which may aid in peoples decisions:

This book of tasks leads to another book of tasks. (I'm not sure if it is immediately available or level dependent also - I didn't finish the first book until level 42)

The first task in the second book is:
    Make 60 feed available,
    Make 500 milk available,
    Make 300 apples available

    Reward: 110xp, $40,000 farm dollars

Second task in second book is:

    Make 500 corn available,
    Make 500 cabbage available,
    Make 900 wheat available

    Reward: 30xp, $65,000 farm dollars

This is the one i am struggling with now...The wheat being the worst part of it...900 wheat....will take a lot of time to grow that many. 500 Cabbage is bad enough...sigh....

The way I look at it, there is always the option of abstaining from the Task. I still have a wheat task that has sat around on my sidebar that I just don't think is worth completing. Not many xp. It's the one asking you to dump $9000 worth of wheat. $9000 isn't much when you get unto into the millions in production profit, but when is it convenient to dump that much? Maybe I'm just protesting, but there sits the task from levels back. lol

Well...I try to lean back and do a little at the time, but sometimes its a little to much at the same time. Like now when they want me to donate 500 cabbage, 900 wheat AND produce 50 cowfeed at the same time. I have 7 cowfeed now...and didnt find time to produce ANy the past week because i had to make salad at night to keep my three pigstables running. Hehe...;)

It's one of the rare collection items. The more common ones are the tickets, tractors, registers etc that pop out randomly when you harvest and are used to start co-op missions.

This second book is "A feast for a good cause." and it becomes available at level 41 if "An apple a day" is complete.

This thread has just reminded me of the long forgotton quest abandoned at the bottom of my task list ! So I've 68,000XP, millions in the bank and I'm on task 1 of the quest ! :) To GGS's credit, there's so much more interesting stuff to do...

A feast for a good cause book, I am at the 3rd page. For the hilarious price of 50 experience points and 15.000 yes that is 15.000 in game dollars. What i have to donate? O just 100 wheat! and anything more o greedy ones? yes 600 apples and 900 eggs. You think i am going to trade that? Not a chance!

I started the Feast for a Good Cause, and then quit it. The reward and XP are not worth it. Best advice is to only do tasks that are worth it. Jim

When the 'apple a day' task popped up, and I saw that it wanted me to donate 100 fertilizer, I knew then and there that I wouldn't be clearing that task EVER. Fertilizer is just too valuable to me to be giving it away. I wouldn't even sell it.

I used to hate the side quests. I then decided to ignore the side quests until they coincide with a coop project. One sat there for 62 levels, at the very bottom. I finally noticed it and laughed as I completed it easily. What was I so stressed about? I farm on my own terms and those crazy characters do not run my farm. I do.

Oh, yes, in the early levels fertilizers are important and valuable. Though in the later levels you will have plenty to still complete the task. I did the task when I got it, no clue why, but I did. But now I am swimming in 1750 fertilizer, which makes me sell overproduce almost constantly. I would so like to donate the overproduced fertiez to get a bit more out of them than a bit of money :D

only for the main farm finish the event, for farms # 2,3 is to not finish the event, but buy the reward at the end of the event, for gold of course.
