(copied from the announcement)The water tower pricing will be increased, since especially in later levels it got far too powerful for its current price.
Its to-buy price will be the same, but upgrade prices will be raised significantly, so if you planned to upgrade, don't wait too long

So the ones that have the upgrade will still have the advantage of the superpower water tower and few people will be able to afford to buy the upgrades--So how will that fix the problem? I don't understand the reasoning on that!

Not excited by bad news Nafaru, I can't afford to upgrade my water tower as it is, so I am being priced out of this product even as the developers tell us what a great advantage it is, just because they underpriced it initially! I bet the same thing happens with the workshop...
Realistically, why should I endlessly pour money into a virtual hole in cyberspace without ever owning any of this product? The developers must be laughing all the way to their bank, sad to say I am becoming disenchanted with the money grabbing mentality at the core of this game, where's the fun gone?
Hopefully, the new farm upgrade will bring a little bit on monday....

I want my money back. I paid for that Water Tower and now you decided it would be a GROUNDBREAKING idea to stick it to us and increase the price instead of using some brainpower to alter the programming so that you can adjust it's usage and effect.

I don't buy this. I feel ripped off.

You added a Cherry Orchard that takes up 3 units of Fertilizer to operate, the Water Tower helps people in that regard if we're pressed for space.

I feel this is wrong of you to do and I'd like you guys to reconsider reverting to the original price and taking an alternative route.

Otherwise I'm filing a ticket. A price increase is not justified.

And don't forget that the game may get deleted any time by the developers. Out of three farm games by GoodGameStudios, one has already been deleted and other will be deleted by end of February. (Maybe there have been more farm games by GGS, I don't know...)

Would be far wiser to buy a downloadable game, IMO. You would be owning that.
  • edited 10.02.2013
It looks like GGs people the only thing they occupy their minds with is how to force us pay real money. Well, they have a big history of deleted games. Thus, only a fool or a rich person (but still fool) would eventually be able to play this game and have a slight pleasure. Because paying for something upon which you have absolutely no control is foolish. You invest your money to the game, you advance levels and one fine day come the GGS people saying "the game has completed its course and is going to end". And another farming game appears much more thirsty for money. Oh, no. The GGS are clever but let them look elsewhere for suckers.

How often are these discount bonus specials? Because in order to make up for this mess, you're going to need it on a daily basis.

Whew! I got the water tower and upgraded it to level 4 about a week ago. Wasn't planning on upgrading it to level 5 so I managed to do it just in time. It makes a GREAT difference to the game; I am now overstocked on fertilizer and feed but it was worth it to me to spend the money so it wouldn't be a hassle.

I doubt the workshop price will be increased as that is too expensive for what it does as it is. We already get decreases in processing input from processor upgrades. Besides, for me the water tower is enough to get ahead.

It's this second farm that has me curious. Can we get more details on how that will work or at what level we get it?

yes the collect bubbles are below the buildings for me also. However you swing the curser over the building and the bubbles go back to where they should be.

Those bubbles have been like this for quite some time really, just they used to go to their correct places when everything was loaded, now they sometimes don't. And they don't even need to be like this after logging in - it happens just ingame as well.

Another little update, I see, was to change the pictures on seeds. Now they are difficult to tell apart and I really sow them only based on my memory where this or that used to be. I guess this is another way they hope to make us to us to use gold if we have sown something wrong.

I agree with the seed bags being hard to distinguish - it would probably already help the get rid of the greenish overlay over the plant symbols, to make it easier to tell apart.

you close down our favourite game farmer and replace it with this you get everyone to start an account here then you stick it to us by giving us incorrect compensation for the closure of farmer I spent a lot more on farmer then what I got back in compensation that is a huge insult and then you increase the water tower so do you really think you are going to get a lot of ex farmer players on here by doing this I think not ggs

The water tower was too strong compared to the workshop.. hence the prices of upgrades for the water tower were adjusted to match the prices of workshop upgrades and not vice versa.
There are currently no plans to change the price of the workshop as you suspected.

Why change the seed packets in the store? No one asked for that.

And they tell us same thing in GGSFarmer forum that we are not supposed to discuss BigFarm over there either. Really disappointed & starting to really not be fun anymore.

Look at it in the positive way - once they have deleted Farmer, they can't tell us either.

It's not necessary to play this game with paying really money, right? It's up to you!

Absolutely correct, and placing newer players at a disadvantage by increasing the gold necessary to improve the water tower is why i will not support this game with my money. Now if there was only some way to retract my vote i placed for the MMO of the year 2013.

    Raising the prices wasn't needed.

If the Water Tower was too powerful, then you should decrease the percentage of Feed/Fertilizer it covers.

Adjust the game mechanics, not our wallets. This is not how you make a better game. Is there anyone there making these decisions that actually play the game from a budgeted perspective?

I think the seed bags look nice.. but agree, maybe that green film overlay could be a bit lighter.

Stop complaining people. This is not real life; It's a game. If you dont like the way it's being run, then stop playing it!

If I don't like how someone is using my investment time, I'm going to tell them. People pour real money into this, they have every right to complain.

And that's what we will evetually do - don't worry.

I have always thought, though, that it would be better to inform the person(s) responsible about what bothers us, so that, if they consider it important not to bother/lose their clients, could take it into account. A real life example: my son had decided to drop an animation film hobby group because he was bored of plasticine; I told him that this can be changed and talked to his hobby group teacher - that group is running just its first year, and surely teacher can do things differently if she has some feedback; I even said we can maybe take from home some Legos or whatever if that feels more interesting. And similarly I myself, running a hobby group for the first year myself, would have wastly preferred those kids who left it after one lesson to tell me what they expected from my hobby group instead of leaving it - things can be changed and hobby is supposed to be fun!

Not that I really expect GGS to listen. When they decided to ruin FarmFever, lots of people told them it will kill the game, but they didn't give a damn. A month after the change they changed it back, but it didn't make all those people who had left the game come back... I'm sure something like that will eventually happen to Big Farm, too.

If we had done that, those who bought the water tower and maybe invested real money in it, would have felt cheated. That's why we have decided that those who bought it already can keep the effects and those who want to buy it will still be able to get the level 1 water tower for the same price.

It may not seem like it, but we read all your suggestions and complaints and forward them to those responsible for any game design/balancing decisions. Some of your suggestions have already been implemented, some were decided to be implemented later and some were just noted and might have changed the way everyone at GGS sees the game.
