Best order for horse items in the meadow?

In the horse meadow it says to use items in the correct order without as much as a hint (as usual) of what that order is. I've attempted to breed only once, it took me several days to fill up the bar, and the breeding failed. For something that takes as long as this does I shouldn't be left to guessing. When you click on an item it should show you how much of the bar the item will fill if you use it. Since it doesn't, does anyone know the most efficient use of items in the proper order so that I actually start getting some kind of benefit from the meadow? Any help would be greatly appreciated because what I thought was going to my favorite part of the game has easily turned into my least favorite part.

Basic sequence seems to be pink, yellow, blue but different people have worked out different sequences
  • I just went through the process again and it failed. My co-op has only two other horses in the meadow with me, maybe that's the problem, who knows. What I do know is this breeding mechanic is the most convoluted, arbitrary nonsense I've seen in a game in a very long time. I've yet to breed successfully and have now wasted probably north of 15-20 hours trying. At some point the developer needs to have more respect for their customer base than this, at the end of the day they need us a hell of a lot more than we need them. They make you guess, spending HOURS in the process, only to find out it was all a waste of time.

I'm sensing an extreme lack of integrity from GGS and I have no problem saying it.

I feel that a lot of your problemis that you have started a co-op of your own rather than joining a pre-existing one with experienced people to talk to.
At the top of the Meadow it shows the "maximum outcome of gene points". If this is anything below 90% your chances of success are slim and you need more horses on the Meadow. You then slide the sliders to allocate all the points to one attribute and bob's your uncle  !

These combo work great for me.

For  Strength / Agility training / Racing ..... i use  "Horse treats x2 - Ball - Hoof pick - Horse treats - Ball"
    114 gold to skip

For Endurance / Strength training / Dressage ..... i use "Horse treats  - Ball - Hoof pick - Horse treats - Ball"
    107 gold to skip

For Agility / Endurance training / Show jumping ..... i use "Horse treats x3 - Ball - Hoof pick - Horse treats - Ball"
    121 gold to skip

If the breeding fails you can continue with these 3 to fill the love meter again fast. Works on all 3

You might also want to look in the Tutorials section of this forum and find the thread

If you use the search function at the top of the screen and search the "horse meadow", you can find many threads about it. Throughout the discussions are many tips, including several suggestions for best training sequences. Some training sequences take more time than others and some include more costly training items, and some include training items that are only obtainable with upgraded village factories.

The tutorial referenced earlier by Uncle John & link provided by Rosy is an absolutely fabulous and very thorough guide about everything horses (training, breeding & racing) from starting fresh at the ranch and all through the meadow - but it is also very lengthy

if you would like something shorter just on the meadow breeding, you can try this link
    https://community.goodgamestudios.com/bigfarm/en/discussion/180479/cooperative-horse-meadow-information-and-advice

But if you take the time to search "horse meadow" and read through some of the discussions as various updates have been done or questions asked about it, you can learn a lot that way too, as well as find numerous ideas for meadow training sequences.
