Horse Dung

Add horse dung from the horse stable to the main farm inventory. That is the hardest part of keeping up with orchards is collecting chicken, pig and cow dung to produce fertilizer. add horse dung to it . In real life stable muck composted really makes veggies grow!

too little dung? that only happens in the beginning .. later you can no longer save yourself.
pigs and donkeys give most of the dung

  • yeah, horses should drop dung, i need more dung too

Try to get a water tower and have a reasonable number of cowsheds and duck coops. Then dung supply is no longer an issue. But I do understand that it can be difficult to manage it if you don't have many stables.

While horse dung in real life does make a great fertilizer, not sure that would work as well how the game is set up, or if really needed in the long run.

These players both give great advice, but might seem conflicting to a new player as one suggests pigs & donkeys, but the other suggests cows & ducks.
Keep in mind it depends on your style of play / the amount of time you are online to play.

If you can stay logged in for lots of harvesting, pigs on wet feed (made with rutabaga), cows on silage (made with alfalfa) and chickens give the best dung per minute for the time played. It might be hard to keep up with enough feed for these though, so make sure your mill is always upgraded as you're able to.

If you can login only 2 to 3 times a day, then donkeys, ducks & cows are the better choice because they give the most dung per harvest, but the harvests take longer.

Also, as you progress in the game, you will notice that milk & eggs are used by and for a lot more events which is why many players will recommend cows & ducks over pigs & donkeys.
Pigs and donkeys have their place, but are used in less events than milk & eggs, and you end up just selling a surplus of donkeys & pigs (in otherwords, the cows & ducks will benefit your farm growth in more ways in the future, than just with dung).

In the farm's early days, enough fertilizer is tough because the game gives tasks for peaches & cherries (that use a lot of fertilizer) before you can make enough to sustain them. I suggest that you upgrade your silo(s) when you're able to, that will help make more fertilizer with less dung.
As ninjahuman said, the water tower will help too. Also, have many more stables than orchards until your fertilizer production can keep up. The task to add cherries or peaches will be there until you can complete them, whether it takes a day or 20.
And, as both these other players said, it won't be long until you have more dung than you can manage, it just takes a bit of time & patience.
