With the newly introduced stuff - spring cows, spring pigs, maybe some other new thing to come - I think it is very important to put a note in the items' description if gold will be needed for the upgrades.
Regular farm dollars are a default but gold is a consideration for many players.
For example a lvl 9 spring cow now on sale for 49k gold is a good investment but a lvl 1 spring pig for 9k gold not so much if many thousand of gold will be required for future upgrades.
My point is that ANY gold requirement should be clear and obvious to players so that they can make an informed decision.

You might notice that best in the greenhouse which needs dollars to upgrade it till level 3, then gold from level 4 till level 7 ''max level''.

So now I have a follow up question, the decos.

The top one has orange background, the bottom has regular background. Is there a significant difference or a special meaning in different color?
After posting this I think I found the answer - decos with orange background could be bought for gold only from the building tab (when available of course). The tan background decos can be bought for farm dollars or gold.
Sometimes asking a question makes one search for answers on their own.

The same -  anything with a gold background needs gold to buy it
