Decorations disappeared

The other day I built all my decorations ( about 20) then stored them to await the landscape gardener so I could dismantle them. The landscape gardener has now arrived but I am unable to dismantle my decorations because they have disappeared. My local inventory is empty.I must have lost hundreds of decoration parts and wasted hours doing events to win them. 
Does anyone else have the same problem ?
