Village Fair Challenges

Please consider only allowing Leaders and Deputies to start Challenges! I have explained until I'm blue in the face how to sort through and find the best challenges for our Coop and still members are starting unattainable challenges. The length of time we have to wait until that challenge runs its course is killing those of us who are wanting to play.

Quite a few posters have said they like it as it is,
Personally, if they don't learn and been told it's a deal breaker - kick them out !

I don't agree with GL's assessment .... quite a few do NOT like how it is now. (You have only to look through all the posts to see this.) Kicking people out isn't the answer because the damage has been done.

Please limit regular members to 30 minutes, and let the Leader/Deputies be the only ones who can start longer ones.
  • I think only leaders and deputies should be allowed t start.  If co op wants everyone to be able to start deputise the whole co op

That would work for some, Byron. Some coops, though, don't want everyone to be a deputy, but still would like team members to be able to start challenges if the Leader/Deputies aren't around. Just not 13-hour ones ... LOL!

I myself don't have a problem, I have strict instruction I and only I start chals unless I give permission when I am away and I am specific on who I appoint to start chal when I am not there., my co op all know and agree to this.  We have never had a problem, since I booted 1 player for ignoring this 1 simple rule of our co op.

I do ask for preference for next chal before I start 1.
  • I Had 2 new members start crazy long challanges this fair .I posted everywhere that just deputy start but they dont lsten so they booted, but challange still there. We need to beable to cancal challanges  in a bad way
  • yep i dont have a problem with the older members just the newbies if gg  could give leaders a button to cancle would solve alot of problems

I have the same problem with newbies starting the first challenge they see, which is the hardest and longest.  I think if the list of challenges showed the shortest, easiest ones first, that would solve the problem.  I would also agree that only deputies and leaders could start challenges longer than 30 minutes.
  • Yes I think that would help alot
  • I am going add about the fair to my welcome letter .Hope that give a idea to other coops

    You can't.
The amount of deputies you are allowed depends on the size of your co-op.

We just had one WILLFULLY and PURPOSEFULLY start a long 14 hour challenge because she was angry about something that happened. She got the boot of course, but it royally messed up our VF score. :/

It happened to us too, but i think it was a mistake ( unawareness )

We still had time for 3 short challenges before end of the medal awards, so it was'nt entirely ruined , but eh

  • We had it happen twice.Of course it was the first they came too .Just hope gg makes the changes

With regards to this thread.. this is an on going thing...  May I make a suggestion...  Each month post a mandatory message on how to do the Village Fair Event to your team ..post reminder.   If a player still dont get it, do a walk through with them.  Teach them, show them how to change from a Gold page to a Bronze page.  Teach them how to pick items that the coop can do. Explaining by words...hoping that the player understands when they really dont. leaves you in doubt.. So why do it that way..  Walk through...you find the coop, what section it is .. you mark down the time/ items.  But before you send the player out to look for the Coop/items.. Make sure you warn them NOT TO TOUCH START BUTTON, or there will be consequences  You send the player to go look for it... and tell what is .. time/items. this way you will know they doing it RIGHT .   And you drum into them..how it is done.  The more you do it.. the better your team will be on selecting.  No back to back apples/almonds/milk.. switch it up.

I agree that member only do 30 min challenges.. leaders/ deputies can decide if team  good enough to do something longer.

Do not  bring any players into your coop prior to the Village Fair.   Heck I already know what damage that can do to your coop, as ours was sabotage about 5 months ago.. with a shut down of 28 hr.

@u think ...  we all do that, send out reminders, etc., but we really don't have any control over other players.  Consequences are worthless after the deed has already been done.

As for not bringing players in prior to the VF, since we no longer know when it's coming, that's impossible to do now.

GGS needs to address this mess. It's been going on long enough.

Yes, I do understand you may do this to your own coop.. artful US1, but I was posting here for the player (SandiOne US1)- who's thread this is.  It works for our coop, hands on..  And the team is better for it.

Yeah I do understand without the Monthly Calendar, little difficult to bring in players when you have NO clue to when the Village Fair comes into play.  You take your chances...   We just had another high level player come to our coop on the 2nd day of VF. The player was level 76.  My leader posted player with no response ..because of that .. it RAISE the Red Flag.  Then as soon as the VF ended, that player was no longer in our application lobby, went back to another coop.

It's a conversation, no matter who starts the thread.  I was responding to your comments.  People have posted ad nauseam about why we need those changes, and how you suggestions just do not work for many.
  • Thats for the advice all is helpfull gg does need to address the problems too but u know how quick that is lol
