Coop championship tips for my coop and more

I think I make some good points that just might help.
here goes, grab a cup. Enjoy.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It's come to my attention, in my own little coop, that some folks just might not understand how or why they should participate in coop missions. (A whole lot have ZERO points....
This post is mainly for my members, just easier to point to this post than send a TONS of coop messages because of the limited size they allow. And if this helps others too great.
First, I run a no pressure coop. My only real rule is show up at least weekly. (Looking for members, seek me out.)
BUT the coop championship is the one thing we do tend to play.
(even if it does roll around WAY too often.)
The reasons to play are simple. PRIZES. EVERYONE in the coop gets prizes every time enough missions are completed by coop members. THEN at the end of the event, assuming the coop placed well, (does NOT have to be THE top, again no pressure to "win." Just hold our own.) The whole coop wins prizes at the end. So even if every player only did one mission when you first log in, it helps. NO mission means maybe this person doesn't really need to be in a "team" collecting prizes everyone else earned. I have not taken it that far yet but may in the future.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So here are MY tips as to how I play this and not feel like it's a job, keep it fun.
Note, mine will not be the best and greatest way to pile up the most points. But I'm not that competitive and do NOT expect it of my team. Just some team support is all. If anyone else wants to add their own advice, it's welcome, go for it.
Items that will be in play here, are...
Alfalfa, Rutabagas, Flowers, and Corn.
I'd suggest 4 fields or more, ASAP. Then work on the rest.
Before bed, if I play late, I will make sure everything is planted, fed etc. Including the slow growing wheat. Well wheat is not an item that is part of any mission. So... IF and only IF I have time in the morning when I play most, I will log in, harvest the wheat and set up all my fields with special seeds that ARE items in missions. A few of each,
Alfalfa, Rutabagas, Flowers, and Corn. Fertilize them all, and come back later, (corn being the longest, one hour.)
(If it works for you, do this before you turn in so first thing you are ready.)
Now I have a good size farm, if your new and don't have 4 or more fields yet, it's a gamble what to plant, but try. If you draw say corn and happen to have a field of special corn great. If not just plant regular, only takes five min to grow plain corn, harvest at least a few and you WILL get points. Just harvesting something WILL get you points. Even if you come in last place. Don't worry about that, just fill something and move on.
Of course if you have a stash of seaweed, you can use special seeds and harvest instantly with the seaweed. (You get more too.) So that's an option. I hoard mine like crazy waiting for these coop challenges.
Wait to see whatcha get. (Five min tops for that. So go work your ship yard, or flower farm or something else while you wait.)
Now I have a fairly large farm, my method won't work for new players, adjust accordingly. Even if you only get ONE mission in, then say start another and get the same thing that your now out of and don't want to wait a half hour to try again, so you don't get any points for that. So what. It costs you nothing to try.
ONE mission won't take you any more time than you would normally spend if all you want to do is harvest, plant and go. Just wait to see what the mission is, then harvest, plant and go AND you earned points and prizes for you and everyone in the coop.
Now side note, if you haven't already gotten into the truck garage, one well worth upgrading is the stackmaster. (forklift.) It takes certificates to start it, which you mainly earn by doing missions.... so upgrade that as you can and do missions to keep the certs coming in. Even if this event isn't going, starting a mission aught to be part of your every day play just to get those all important certificates.
Anyway the stackmaster lets you shelve missions without any min required harvest. For up to one hour.
Shelving missions simply means you filled what you will and are done. You do NOT have to have any min required load, heck if you get one you don't have any of you can shelve it without harvesting anything. Of course you get nothing but it's a way to move past a crop you don't have. You do not have to wait for the mission to end before you start another. You cannot add to it again. But shelving a bunch even if every one you place low will get you more points than sitting there for a half hour harvesting. First place that costed you ALL of say your pigs and a half hour to do vs shelving over and over? Trust me, lots of low ranking shelved missions will earn a LOT more than "winning" one and do it in less time. Again we want fast, easy and fun right? Not expensive, labor intensive, tedious, boring, and a chore. This is a game, keep it light.
So say my first is pigs. I have six, I will harvest three, re-feed with fast feed and shelve it, start another.
Next I get corn. I have two fields of special waiting, harvest ONE. Plant regular corn, fertilize it, shelve.
Next I get poo. Ok, chickens reset in only 12 min. Grab all of those. Go to my gourmet farm, donkeys only use in this game are for the rare market contract, or poo. I have two, I'll get one and shelve.
Say I get corn again. Get my other field of special, and maybe wait for the regular I just planted, plant regular again and shelve.
Next I get pigs again. Get the three fast feed ones and ONE more. Re feed with fast feed and shelve.
I will do this until my farm is pretty much spent, or until I have other things to do and need to go. Be sure at this point to replace any fast feed fed critters with the long term stuff so when you come back to play your ready again.
Feed... again, the night before I probably set my mills to cow feed, duck feed or what ever takes forever. So the first round of feed, I have some ready. Gourmet counts here too. Get ONE, shelve.
Now once I get feed too many times and it's not already done, pushing that with gold really isn't unreasonable. It doesn't cost much and the game does give away gold once in awhile, if you save it you will have some to use for this.
Goldfish feed for the coop village produces a TON of feed and is very cheap to instantly push. (Be sure you have supplies to do this before the coop championship starts.)
Corn is one always in demand, I just set my fully upgraded mill to full production and it costed 20 gold coins to instantly harvest. Not that bad.
(GG I wish all your stuff was as reasonable, I might be prompted to spend more gold.)
So that's my strategy. It's not for everyone. I very rarely am the top points maker in ANY of the three coops I'm in. But if everyone in the coop did this, the whole team would be better off. Again we ALL win prizes for ALL your work. This is a team effort.
No scratch that. Game should not be effort. It should be fun. To some this is fun and they play for hours on end. To others, this event may seem like a chore. It really doesn't need to be.
