Coop Project MOTIVATION(Level 75 and under)

I'm just starting out, and I have a great coop. There is one problem, there is only a select few people who actually help in coop projects. About 5-6 people. There are others out there that just take the benefits of our work and don't even help out. I was thinking of some incentives for them to help out, but I can't think of any. Please tell me what you think. And again, unless you have something positive to say, then don't comment unless you are level 75 and below.

My view would be that no co-op needs free-loaders.
Message one of them directly. If they fail to comply and don't have a good excuse, boot them and comment in Chat as to why they were booted. Repeat as necessary.

In addition, also text to that guy that why he was kicked.
First of all send a coop mail saying them to participate in the projects and in other coop events, still if they are not responding and even not giving any good excuse then kick them out. As they are not in your coop just to enjoy the rewards.

I agree with Uncle John's comment. You shouldn't need to reward the non team players, being part of a great team working together should be enough, or kick them out. but it's a common problem.
  • I just want to let you know, I am NOT the leader. The leader is great, it's just that some people do just stand around and watch while we do what we can to win.

    ok, so -
1/ Suggest to your leader that he/she acts as suggested
2/ The other thing with  missions is that you earn certificates, so make lots of comments in chat about how good your tractors are every time you upgrade one   :¬)

In my coop, many don't EVER respond to my emails. It's not a unique problem. I don't know if they don't speak English, or just don't realize that email is even there. If we would ever get a group that DID play... we could weed out the freeloaders... but until then... we just hope something will catch their eye at some point and they will respond.

Not a great way to get their attention is to remove them & send them an invite as soon as you remove them. If they come back most likely it will have a message/reply asking why ;)

It is up to the leader then, to decide whether this is a problem or not. Has the leader indicated that participation is a requirement? Many coops don't necessarily make participation in all events a requirement. It is frustrating if some players don't help out, but if the coop leader hasn't set participation as a requirement, then there really is no issue.

Many years ago, I ran a coop and our description stated we were a non-competitive coop. Often new members that joined would get upset if everyone didn't participate in coop events. Many of them left because they wanted the competition, but there are coops that simply farm.

  • I only had to scream once at my coop after we failed a project many months back...  Now we're polishing them off at a rate of 2-3 per 24 hours.  There seems to be a willingness for other players to compete if you start bragging about your red shovels.  As for booting, the best way to keep you coop active is to toss those that score 0 points in coop championships;  But it's always a balance...  Become negative and dictate minimum requirements you end up with zombies that do just enough to stay alive.  At the same time be too nice, and the next thing you know everyone goes on strike.
