Unreachable Targets

Yet again, the totals in the HWE are beyond most if not all players.

UK server - levels 150 - 999.

I'm sitting at 24th with 2 mins to go and have 2425500 roughly.  The winner has 6395792.

To get 49/50 hard worker reward - a gml you need 20,400,000.

Some of the players in the top 50 are levels 500 plus.

I know its been said many times before, but yet again, GGS are not listening.

Whats the point in entering these events if you cant get to the prizes because the targets are set too high.  No matter how much gold someone purchased it wouldn't be enough to reach the 20,400,000 needed to get 1 gml - and thats not even the final hard worker reward!

The effect on a lot is demoralising at best - and it has a detrimental effect of GGS too.

Whats the point of buying gold when it won't help?  I dont know who the 'business brain' is behind GGS, but I just cant understand their logic.  If I were in charge I'd want a happy customer base as happy customers are likely to spend more - right? You wont get happy customers by setting the targets not just too high, but impossible to reach. Unhappy customers = less gold sales.

I'd love someone to explain the logic behind these targets.

Great post........I want to add a little something extra. Not only are the targets unreachable but some of the prizes in the reward set are dumbfounding! GGS need to sit down and think about how hard it is to obtain a certain level of points and match the reward for effort accordingly. Any score above 1 million should have valuable rewards attached to them (seaweed, tokens, coloured mystery boxes, gmls, goldflowers etc) and even the number of these items given needs to be rebalanced. If someone is crazy enough to reach 20 million points how is a 1 gml reward fair? That should be at least 5, even 10. If you want players to buy and use gold you need to make the rewards worth the effort.....its not rocket science!

Totally agree and have stopped doing this event altogether.

I understand where you are coming from but only partially agree. A game needs to have some targets for us to aim for, some things that we need to be working towards achieving otherwise it becomes pointless repetition. And this has to apply to everybody, so even the very, very, very top players need something to strive for.
Having said that, I would have to agree with you that some of them are well OTT.

I feel that gizmo has really hit the nail on the head, prizes need to be worth the effort involved, a "prize" of 2000 gold that costs 200,000 gold to achieve is not a prize at all. Nobody is going to prize it !!!  GGS have recently produced several events that only high level players can complete but offer prizes that only newbs would find valuable. They need re-balancing.

i did the math for the hwe event and even if the whole time the silo is playing you have 13 points per second for 3 days strait, not missing a second you still need 30-40 000 points more to get the gold mining licence.

Like most things in this game these days, it is for the very rich... the HWE events are out of this world! I have no idea what it would take to get to 28 mil... I pushed this last HWE, got the silo going at +31... that's 41 pts/sec. reached 9 mil points and reached rank 4... rank 1 had over 12 mil points... 28 mil is just the game seeking gold spenders well beyond its needs!! Has anyone done it yet? LOL

this event is no longer for me, too rich for my blood! Will just plod along farming normally and if I get something from it, fine... if not, fine!

sorry it is no longer a fun event or even a real challenge as it does seem many events have changed for the worse this way and made the goals unattainable for most, even gold spenders...

    IMHO, sadly.

    @JVD (US1)

I can't even imagine how much it must have cost you to get up to 31 bonus points per second.. It's all *I* can do to get 2 or 3 bonus points. :)

But completely agree with your philosophy. Doesn't make a lot of sense to ME to use tons of seaweed and thousands of gold just to win "6,000 gold" in GMLs. It cost you more than that to win them. IMO, the prize needs to be worth a LOT more than the investment in order to get me to compete for it. :)

They are checking peeps can do or not and yet mostly are demoralized so they will run it again B)

I have no problem with there being targets I can't reach, I'm still a reasonable sprinter but no match for Usain Bolt, but as @Southern (US1)  says " the prize needs to be worth a LOT more than the investment in order to get me to compete for it". I look at the prizes on offer and choose a target that makes sense to me. I then have to work to achieve it. This I find to be fun  :¬)

Hard worker events?   Meh.  I collect the seaweed for starting it, will try to plant what ever it's asking for, collect some just to move it along, and win what ever I win.   That's it.  I pushed it ONCE to try and get through only to realize it's a no way thing.   Just not worth it.   Never was from the very start.
And the fishing one is even worse.  Again, I get what I get for starting it, then I don't let it effect my fishing one bit.  Keeps life simple.
  • The skip button maxes out at 3900 gold so you're safe there...

    As for the calculations...

Lets just theorize the event is a full 5 days (not sure exact time)

65 points per second for the entire event...

I recommend making sure those are overflow points so that you can make up for the time it'll take to get the points that high...

    lol
