Need a Co Leader Option

sometimes it happens that the leader is inactive for more than 6 months or 1 year for any reason.as he is inactive so he cannot transfer his position to another player.and the cooperative cant do many thing..it becomes a inactive coop..

so we need a Co-leader option..where leader can choose a co leader..and when leader is inactive for more than 2 months,the system will automatically make the co leader as a leader.
i think its a very needed thing for us..

    If the co op leader goes MIA for more than 32 days the leadership will pass on to the next highest, active Deputy.

    Again the leader must be away, never log in, for 32 days in a row before the change will happen.

    I was thinking about this just recently funnily enough - that the leader should be able to assign any other number of members as co-leaders. They would get the same powers as leader, including deleting members. The only member they wouldn't be allowed to delete is the leader.

  • good idea, and it's important for the co-leaders to not be able to delete the leader in case anybody is not very nice or an acccount gets hacked or whatever

  • We submitted the suggestion below, last March & the team has not said no, they have it marked for future consideration, so maybe if we gather some feedback on it, we can get it bumped up the priority list:

    Create a Coop Role (Manager) between Leader & Deputy

    • The coop leader can appoint 1 manager, who has the same powers as a deputy PLUS the ability to kick/remove a member from the coop (except the leader).
    • In the event that the leader is inactive for 32 days, the leadership would pass to the Manager.
    • The manager CANNOT: promote or demote other members, rename the coop, change the coop message, remove the leader.

    This role is necessary because the current system forces players to either, share their passwords (which is against the TOS) or risk losing their coop, by temporarily handing the leadership to another member, who could refuse to give it back.
    When a leader goes on vacation or gets sick, sometimes without warning, there needs to be a way that allows the coop to continue to function, without the necessity of another member having access to the leaders account. Not being able to remove a player from the coop, can cause huge disruption & inconvenience, particularly in larger coops & for certain events.

    I would be very surprised if they would change that, as you could end up with a dead account stuck in the coop that no one can remove - The leader technically owns the coop & can do whatever they want with it, which is why the current system is bad, because the only choices that a leader has, if they will be away for a while, is to share their password or give up their leadership. But if a leader is absent for more than 32 days, it is right that the leadership should pass on & if the new leader works hard & builds up the coop, it would be very unfair that the old leader could come back anytime in the future & just take back the coop.

    32 days is a long time, of course there will be exceptional circumstances where someone might be unavoidably gone for that long, but usually there is a way to a least login once a month, or get a family member to, you cannot expect a coop of players to just wait indefinitely without a leader.
  • OK, ummm, I know this may sound insanely complex for you to implement...

    But the old 500 member guild that I ran, had ranks (maximum 12) with a check box for permissions.

    So a simple guild could have 1 rank, and a complex one could have 12.

    Permissions would be great, it's the same thing as the check boxes in your options menu.

    I could code it in less than 1 hour, but possibly you could get it done in say...  12 months?

    This way I can have staff that has the power to do things when I am sleeping...
