Field Booster Question

Do these field boosters remain until you harvest or does the booster disappear after its set time. 
For example there is a 30 minute cabbage booster....It takes just over 40 minutes to grow.  Am I right in not being able to see the point of this.or are we expected to spend gold before booster runs out.

    I'd also like to know how to use them. I have a FF in use, but can't place the booster. (It's greyed out.) Does this mean that I can only place it when the field is not in use? And, of course, I have the same questions as Val C.

    Hi, Val. Right field, wrong plant. Went back to look at the booster again -- it's for rutabaga!! (You can stop laughing now.) I hardly ever grow that stuff. LOL!

    Wouldn't laugh artful...made too many howlers myself.  Anyway, just seen the time, gone past 1am so time for bed.

    They won't be very good for growing Special Rutabaga Seeds, since those take 45 minutes to mature, but they would work fine with regular seeds. They'd also work with either seed if you use seaweed humus.

    Considering there's only 2 of them, they wouldn't make much of a difference in regular seeds, they're probably aimed at promoting seaweed use.  Because then you could use them 1 at a time, and just use that one field for your seaweed use for a full 30 minutes.
  • this is rediculuos instead of getting 600 pigs per stable i am now getting only 483 pigs per stable using the 50% booster from the garage
    they said most production wil go up by fiddling around whit the boosters but all i have seen is things have been going down massivly

    Well, since I hardly grow rutabaga (thank you, Stackmaster), and don't do the Village Fair, won't make much difference to me. I rarely use the stuff -- have enough speedy pig feed to last a lifetime. :)

    Okay, I've tried one field with the 30 minute rutabaga booster and some special seeds [45 minutes grow time].  At time of planting with premium humus it said there were 620 Rutabaga.  Left the field for a good hour and when I came back I hovered over the field and it still showed 620. In case it was a display error I watched as I clicked and sure enough 620 rutabaga were collected.

    That would indicate that the bonus is applied at the time of planting (like the half-time production booster is), and even if it wears off halfway through, the bonus is still applied at harvest. 

    That makes them a bit more useful. :)

    Okay, dumb question, and if it's been answered, please forgive me. Do you put the skin down first, then plant? Or can you add it after you've planted, similar to how we use humus, Thanks.

    Skin should be placed first artful....it's greyed out if field is busy

    I still can't use the field boosters. As you can see in the image below the booster says my field is busy but it isn't. I clicked on the top field so you could see in the image that it isn't busy.

    I just tested it on my end - it's because the field is charmed.

    Grow something to take the charm off, and then you should be able to put on the booster.

    {It's still a bug, IMO. You should be able to apply a skin if the field is charmed or not}.

    Thank you @Southern (US1) and I agree the booster should still work with sparks, but at least now I know why I can't use them.
