Leveling up a horse

I'm looking at
http://crazybigfarm.tk/farm/my_champion.htm
and if I use a horse that I purchased for golden-horseshoes(@the Horse Shop) instead of simply upgrading as it states on the champion page, is that better or worse?

I tried leveling up the hard way, then started using Larino's and CBF's method, but for the past few months using the horses from the Horse Shop and recently CBF's champion page, but I'm at the point where I can breed a "champion" horse with a "horse shop" horse. So is this good "or am I better off getting rid of my Horse-shop horses and saying with "champion" horses?

This horse I've leveled up form the Horse Shop....

and this one is from using CBF's method...

so... do I get rid of Goldy above or breed with "three a"?

Thanks

Level up both horses to the point where more than 200 points are needed in the training sections .
Like maybe both the horses can be leveled up to 35 or 40 till that point and then breed them both :) .

Horse shop horses are great, I buy them all the time, what else do I use all my golden shoes on, save lots of time on the pyramid breeding which saves the need to upgrade the Stables..
Having said that, I am very picky about which ones I buy. I choose ones which have all 3 attributes the same so breeding is simpler. i buy 2 at the same level, or 2 apart for the same reason. etc etc

Have you breed horse shop with "champion" ones from CBF's page?
    And thanks Uncle John

CBF's guide is really only training strategy. Start with horses that are level across all 3 disciplines, train in all 3 till they become expensive to train then breed them. Train the foal and then repeat the process.
This is how it is done but there is nothing to stop you buying in horses that are lvl 49 across all 3 disciplines, naming it FixeA or FiveB and starting from that point or mix and match, it just speeds up the process
  • Sweet!   Thanks again:)

I have 1 horse level 24 and 1 horse level 38. I wonder which options is more efficient (save horse shoes):

1/ Forget horse level 24 and just focus on level 38
2/ Or training level 24 to 38 and make these two breeding

  • I'd suggest you use your option 2 for best results. You want to breed to as close as possible, then breed a new horse to the new bred ones level and repeat til barn full. Also see here: Better explanations.

As a rule of thumb, once training a full level is going to take twice as many shoes as the last level did then it is time to breed.
  • Do you lose your horse when you breed?

Yes, when you breed the parents they go away and leave the foal.
    Here is great info:
