Game changes needed (Clearly) to address player complaints.

The amount of unhappy players/complaints seems to be currently at an all time high.

Here are a fews things, that if fixed, I believe will improve the playing experience.

Gold lock - To stop the accidental spending of gold.
Bug tracker - So players can monitor reports/fixes.
Better help - Game runs 24/7 so should the help.
Gold lock - To avoid spending gold accidentally.
Pops Up - Place them in a message window away from playing area,
Mod/Game Messages - Need to be available in the game, not "hidden" in the forum.
Issues/Bugs - Stop talking about fixes and just fix them.
Words like "Rebalance" and "Dymanic" need to banned.
Gold lock - Because sometimes gold gets spent accidentally.
Wheel of Fortune - Needs a disclamer about the chance of winning.
Rewards - When in doubt, just give gold mining licences.
Accounting - Players need access to a daily inventory so they can see when prizes are added etc.
Gold lock - Not sure if I've mentioned this before.

Lastly, this is not a War game, if I wanted that I could play Empire or maybe something less buggy. This is a farming game, not the hunger games. Farmers are about helping each other, not battling each other. So make it more about the farming and less about the fighting.

Should only take a day or 2 to implement.

Anybody else got a suggestion or 2 that they think may help the game?

I look forward to the day there is more praise than complaints in the forum

Mark

Nicely said.  You cover some great topics.

We the players, as players, see all the problems which makes it obvious that the developers do not play the game on any kind of regular basis or they might actually feel the same frustration we do and actually do something about it.

I had not been to the forum for a few days and when I came back to it I was completely overwhelmed by all the post and the problems on a daily basis.  I was not even sure where to begin.  I was actually looking for info on why the calendar disappeared and if the WWC was going to take place.   So now we are expected to go to an external site in order to find out what events are happening next, this gets crazier and crazier.

What is so wrong with an in game message?  They continually send out surveys as well as weekly rankings for the WWC, why can they not simply send out a message when there is a problem or a message with weekly events or a message when there is a change in events.
  • Thank you for addressing what is so apparent to most!!
One of our most valued players in our co-op was recently hit hard and lost quite a lot...this began an investigation on my part as to how many others were experiencing this...and wow...just wow....actually blaming the players for lost gold just blew me away...and for such a large game..its global and the login page is so basic...and then the purchase page is way simplistic...I have no understanding why this is so....seems like as the game was growing so would the security to make sure your customers were protected...this is Business 101...now I've been tracking how much I receive/harvest from fields, stables and the rest and there are so many 'glitches'...I'm wondering if this is just a glitch or if this loss is running into someone else's accts???

Thanks Mark for your post...and may I add one more thing...Gold Lock!!

    Well said Mark
The gold lock is so important,  We have had some really enthusiastic players that have suddenly left the game because they have been tricked into spending gold, like on the mystery boxes and also the landscaper with upgrading decos.  These players were big gold spenders that have obviously left to spend their money on other games..

I am not crazy about a gold lock option.  Something like a gold bank I would be all for.

But  why are you not in favor of it? It could be designed so that the default is the same as it is today (unlimited gold usage)...but a player could choose an option in their settingto lock their gold to prevent accidental gold being used.

The term gold lock has been used loosely to cover a variety of options. It could be something as simple as a confirmation button like when we demolish something. "Are you sure you want to spend x amount of gold? Yes, No."

I currently lost 158,000 in gold because I just clicked okay when buying a book....and I bought the complete edition which I did NOT want.  I contacted support and they said they couldn't help me which is bull, because all the gold is, is a code on the game.  Which is NO loss to them, so I say we stop buying gold until they fix the issue or agree to reimburse us when we loss it because of a mistake.

It has been brought up before to try a gold bank. i like this option because i can allocate a certain amount of gold and won't be slowed down by a confirmation button.  I don't want to be asked are you sure when i'm pushing production.  I would love a confirmation button for all the popups because it can be impossible at times to avoid those. BUT for things like pushing production I am not in favor of a gold lock.

  • I understand, but I have bought books before and usually, it is just a confirmation so I didn't read it.  I just pressed okay, but I only wanted the level one book for 1500 gold pieces....I would have never bought a book for so much!

A lot of us are in favor of a confirmation button for EVERYTHING. Those little mistakes and glitches can add up in a hurry, and a small loss is a huge one to those of limited means and must hang onto their limited resources. A confirmation would add a fraction of a second to your playing time.

Most games have some sort of player protection in place, and it hasn't hindered game play at all.

The "Team" has accepted the Gold Lock, Its number 2 in Accepted, right after Water all coop trees at once (and we all know how greatly that was received.)

Since it will result in revenue lost from accidental spending, I don't expect it to be introduced any time soon and I wouldn't expect it to be without conditions as well.

  • True, but if we stop buying gold, it might happen faster...the problem I have is that they lose nothing by reimbursing us.  NOTHING!!  It cost them nothing to replace fake gold and yet they won't do it.  Right now, I am just asking my coop and the forum.  Next, if I have to...I will e-mail every coop with a month long boycott.  I could replace my gold that is not the issue.  The issue is sometimes people save and save their gold, I know I did when I couldn't afford it, and with one little click it's all gone.  And they never help us out!!  So, I say one week NO gold.  Next time, one month.....

People have been calling for a boycott since requests to eliminate accidental spending first fell on deaf ears.  We are talking years. And if the gold purchases stop, they'll simply pull the plug on the game.

It will most likely cost us gold to use the gold lock  :open_mouth:
  • True, but it doesn't have to be long.  I was thinking we could do it for a week....starting today.  And who knows if we get enough people they might think about it.
  • This time, I just asked my coop and the forum....but if we had to we could e-mail every coop leader asking for their support for a month long boycott.

I wish you the very best with that ;) it has been tried many times in the past with no avail :(
There will always be those that have to spend Gold  :disappointed:

I've got a couple of extra items for the list that I think need addressing.

Landscape Gardener: Payment method defaults to Gold. Make default payment cash or no default at all and let the player choose.
Candy Farm: Some of the Orchards have the option to pay in Gold (I think this is unique to this temp farm). The placement of the Gold button needs to be changed, I've spent gold unnecessarily on more than 1 occasion because of this issue
A Gold Lock: I'm thinking this could be handy way to stop the accidental spending Gold

Thanks for your time, I'll let you get back to implementing those changes.
