Snowman, yet again....

enough already

i appreciate for lower level players they can build a decent deco out of this white dude but adding giant snowballs all over the place in a game that already has performance issues (which i know you're well aware of) is a pain in the rear. Add to that it runs for days, is particularly annoying during the chwe - racing wildflowers to 10 is no fun with the giant balls everywhere - and isn't a deco worth having on higher levels.

Therefore, can we have an off button? We can opt out of an event by simply not playing it, it would be equally handy if we could turn the damn thing off if we have no wish to endure days of reduced performance and eyesore.

When it only came along now and then was one thing, now it seems to be a monthly, if not more regular side event that for the above reasons is unwelcome by many, i know there's a near audible groan in my coop when it appears.

Does it stop occurring once you get all the deco's ticked off in the tower to complete the set?

I got just 1 to go.

For the un-initiated, the decoration tower is on the gourmet farm (at least it is for me), the snowmen deco's are at level 47.

Google says winter is Dec 21, 2107 to March 20, 2018.

Im guessing the snowman events and snowy ground will go away around that time as well?

Perhaps this could relieve some tension:

Its commen knowlegde (and traditionally) - atleast here in Denmark - that winter is dec-feb, spring is mar-may summer is jun-aug, fall is sep-nov

And as we are in march we should have spring by now.

But as with so many other things - it tend to change in these years

While in parts of the US, Europe, and elsewhere, you're quite likely to see snow in March and April (statistically, you're more likely to have a white Easter than a White Christmas), this never-ending snowball thing has worn out its welcome. Remember the good old days when it came once a year?  It was enjoyable then.  You know the old saying, "Familiarity breeds contempt."  Just sayin'.

  • I had about 1.5 hour of clean play late last night and then up pops another damn snowman thing...and the game just chugs along and IS NOT downloading. I don't want to see anymore snow scene burning my eyes...I don't want another crap snowman gumming up the works! If you must so called 'optimize'  Then stop loading this stuff...so many of us cannot play. Just crazy this chugging and delay. Doesn't matter how much you tune, refresh & reload everything...heed some good advice...so many have explained to let you be informed. TY

I'm in-game during different parts of the day and I don't experience any 'chugging' as you speak, before or after the snowman event arrives, or any event for that matter.
Sounds like your issue could be computer-related or internet connection related???

I am surprised that snowballs have returned for another run; my question is: how many of these snowmen are enough; my answer: 2 snowmen back..:) Here is Calgary, Alberta all are thoroughly just fed-up with the white stuff as urban roads are clogged with over a foot of snow and no snowplows are in sight nor planned for any time in the future. I am also tired of the snow scenery in-game; can we have some more spring-like scenery, especially as the new horse season theme is Spring! I am hoping that the recent snowball event is its last hurrah until next year...so please GGS please bring Spring with some real gusto...thanks.

I hate this event and this patchy snow. To fix the event: 1. Give a decent prize and 2. Drop less snowballs (and ask for less snowballs to match). I like your idea Seeker, but only if those also happen. Without changes, snowman event should be 1-2 times per year.

And give me the heavy snow cover from last year, I never even got to see it, why do I only get is this ugly melted snow? (on that note, i wish they'd replace the dirt ground with grass, once the snow goes away)

Also these drop tasks do slow the game down for those with slow (edit: unlucky?) connections, I don't experience it, but enough people complain about it that it must be true. that includes the snowman event, the CNY event, anything with lots of drops. The exception is the bees event because the drops are very rare.

I know right....give it a rest with this silly event! The event itself isn't the problem.....the problem is the game is slow and laggy without the snowball drops then much much worse to the point of being unplayable when the snowman event is running. I am starting to wonder if GGS is intentionally trying to tick everyone off.....its working!

If you want to run an event over and over again how about Golden week?

I don't have a slow connection, or slow devices ... when so much is dropping, the game does slow down significantly.

My dog is 11 days old.  I'm playing this event for the second time.  Enough already.

I agree, the Snowman event is just so very "Meh", that I ignore it and go about my normal farming and what will be will be on that end deco.  That deco will just end up be used for deco parts when Greta gets here.
  • I think the reason they're running it so often is because a lot of people miss the event when it happens and they keep running it to give everyone a chance to get it. That's not bad in itself, but I second what Corvid suggested with an Off button. For players that "do" complete the event once, give them the option to reject it (just like a contract in the market).

For example, I hate the goldfish event that is running right now in parallel with the snowman, the hardworker, the bees, the fairy tale... etc... etc... Too many at once. I am not even sure what to focus on.

The images and appearances were done well but there is no other reward besides the decoration which is worth much less than golden week, obon, or st patricks day.  It looks like the coding is rushed as there is very little features, it has an event object, window, points counter and decoration reward system most likely copied from golden week, obon, and st patricks day.
It would be more fun if reaching certain number of points gives hard work rewards such as mystery boxes and seaweed humus.  I also would suggest adding an indicator for points to next reward and a way to increase village happiness.

Let the snowmen melt, goldfish can drown, wedding planner not needed as the couple split up, and food truck shut down after finding duck pellets in food.
