bugs and blame
Your previous post admitted the bug was Big Farm's own error, yet you banned many players, then reversed your position.
Today you inform folks that dollars they got (from YOUR ERROR) will be removed.
This is still wrong. If you made a mistake, suck it up and go with it. Try not to make the same mistake again.
That's what I, as a player, have been advised to do when one quick wrong click resulted in me spending thousands of gold I did not intend. (" I clicked wrong, I want my gold back!!" ":Bwahahaha chump, you spent it" )
What is good for the goose is good for the gander, stop taking stuff back for your own mistakes, or be prepared to compensate us when we make one.
More worrisome still was your proclamation: " In the future we intend to be more open and clear when such issues are encountered in the game, advising users specifically not to make use of bug..... We take this opportunity to inform you that this type of banishment may be put in the future to punish any abuse of similar errors"
How will you "advise players" not to make use of a bug they may not know exists??? They could be punished because they missed your forum post????
If you introduce a bug, fix it as soon as you can. Leave the players out of it.
PS> to the best of my knowledge i did not receive a ban, nor did I earn extra dollars. But the whole situation and the way it has been handled and your guidance about future errors deeply violates my sense of fair play.

It is not possible to 'leave the players out of it' as you suggest, any effect on the game affects the players and vice versa. They are intrinsically linked together. The issue is now closed and no further action will be taken, but we intend to clarify when such issues are discovered more quickly in future and take more immediate action to resolve them. In the case where an extremely damaging issue grants players dollars or other game items, they will be removed where possible. A bug can cause immediate damage, but a bug that grants untold amounts of dollars causes damage over a long period and to many more players than those who are using the bug to gain those dollars. I apologise you think it is unfair but it also unfair to allow a very small portion of players use of an extremely damagaing bug which directly benefits them and is directly detrimental to every other player in the game.
For any further details on the issue, please refer to our previous posts on the matter.
Where things were mishandled was in the determination of who exploited the bug. The extra amount in my case was less than 20% of my previous balance and I didn't spend any abnormal amount, yet somehow I earned the ban. Which I received after logging on after it was announced that the bans were going to be removed - figure that one out. They had even recovered the dollars 18 hrs prior.
I think those who actually did exploit the bug should have been punished.
Banning people for a mistake ON THE GAME DESIGNERS SIDE is flat out wrong.
Until you start paying people back when they slip up and blow gold, how dare GG ban anyone because there is a bug in the game?
Now if someone hacked the game they yea. Ban away. But that's not what happened is it?
I'd say track down who ever was responsible for creating…. and or. checking for bugs, and didn't do their job, and either take it out of their pay or replace the incompetent person with someone who knows how to code a game. But NEVER punish your customers for an error on your end. It's just not fair.
I was not one of the ones banned. (I didn't play the day this all happened.)
but the whole banning thing, and of course that happens when the offices are closed, was enough to keep me OFF of this game. I told my coops I was taking off. Checked in just to keep that dot from going red, but I stayed off of any playing here.
I'd lay money on the table right now that at least a few people you banned won't bother coming back.
Slapping your customers upside the head is NOT the way to do business. Go check your stats. How many were banned and how many of those just took a walk for good? How will that effect "the economy of the game." (and what a line of BS that is.)
A player accidentally misclicks a popup that comes on to their screen as they are collecting from their farms and spends X amount of gold. GGS responds with a be more careful next time and refuses to give them their gold back. So its ok to exploit us but when you make an error and some people take advantage you treat us all like children and threaten to ban us if it happens again?
